    I really love the catalogs posted online with the shared event hashtag. For Ax it was really easy to miss items (it's really crowded, often hard to approach/see the display, esp AX i got tired easily so couldn't spend much more time if the initial look didn't appear to have things i wanted) so being able before the event to look through the hashtag of artist catalogs and figure out (and commit to) what to get and what table they were was really great (plus discover new artists).

      Thanks for sharing! I can definitely see catalogs being helpful in keeping track of who will be at a con, I tend to do that to make sure I don’t miss anyone 😅

    Have you looked into Pelican Air cases over normal suitcases? They have more internal useable space and have a lighter base weight than most normal luggage with similar exterior dimensions. They're basically those plastic yellow top cases but with wheels and handles.

      I haven't yet! I thrifted my current suitcases but I'd have to look into Pelican Air cases knowing that

    My first event is tomorrow, so tysm for this. I didn't even think about having to carry everything in! Just called my bf, tho and he has a suitcase, thankfully. I really appreciate it all the advice. 💙🙏

    "Ambivert." I learned this word. It's for extroverted introverts.
    I only make friends organically, as I hate reaching out, so I really dislike having to "put myself out there" to make friends. When I've done it in the past, I've had mixed results. I have a large friend circle organically, but none of them do this despite being artistic and some even being artists. So, I do actually need to put myself out there to meet people doing cons and stuff. But I hate the idea of it. 😅

    Thank you so much!!! These videos have honestly been so helpful. I wanted to get into finally being able to get a booth at a con since it’s a really big goal of mine this year as a first time vendor! I was wondering if you would ever consider making a video showing the process of the design process/process of making merchandise to sell? If not that’s totally fine too I just love your videos none the less!!

    I'm really sorry this is not relevant but I didn't exactly where where else to go. 😬Are there any Forms/Documents/Specific processes/Etc. that we should be aware of? Being a noobie digital illustrator, I've (foolishly) openly posted my content on social media. Would the simple route to keeping my art safe be putting a watermark over my photos to prevent theft? Is there anything I can do in the case it still gets stolen or in the case that my already posted content (without watermarks) may be stolen? Whether you have any ideas or not, any and all info would be a tremendous help!!!

    • @Mualcaina
      @Mualcaina  Год назад +2

      The simplest way is to add a watermark on your art if you post it on socials. By posting any kind of art, you’re prone to people copying and pasting it to sell elsewhere (it has happened to me with some of my pin designs). Not to say that you can’t do anything about it, but it is something that could happen by publicizing your work. You can look into going through trademarks for your business or copyright certain work but I am not familiar with the process as I am not a legal professional and you can reach out to a lawyer or go on google for more info on that topic

    A bit late to this video, but I noticed in your booth layout footage, you stopped using your mualcaina banner at the top. Was there a reason for this? Often when I walk down an artist alley, all the customers standing block the brand banner when it’s hanging off the table so it’s hard to find specific artists. But I do notice a lot of artists do not put their banner above in spite of this. What are your thoughts on this, esp as someone who used to use, one then stopped?

    Hiya love your videos! I have a question for someone starting out. Do you recommend getting a virtual address (one that is a real location)? I didn't think much of it when I signed up for my state's sales and use tax permit specifically the part where I had to enter a "business" address. I now realize it's an issue because I printed my receipt and it's my home address and I really don't want to have that out there for people. 😨😨

    • @Mualcaina
      @Mualcaina  Год назад +1

      I would definitely recommend getting a virtual address to protect your personal home address info

      If it helps, I use my P.O. Box as my general mailing address for everything I can. My city’s business license still needs my home address for home business zoning but they don’t share it anywhere online. Each city/town might vary but the folks at mine were super helpful and, when I explained that I’m a queer woman on the internet, they gave me the rundown on how that information is protected.

    I'm still trynna feel out how much inventory to ACTUALLY pack. It's hard cuz it's either you miss out on sales cuz you sold out not packing enough or bringing waaay too much.

    Hey, I love your videos! I really want to table at Anime NYC. I’ve been looking at your patreon, I was wondering if you offer services to over someone’s profile one on one zoom and try give personal feedback that would help to be better competitive with their application. I am willing to pay more than what you are asking on patreon for one on one help. Please let me know 😂 I hope you this is not weird ask.

    Artist Alley has become more of a trinket alley as of late. The art is just displayed enough to hide the fact that a lot of the booths are mostly selling keychains, stickers and pins. They should be in the vendor section in my opinion.
