Being disabled I will never be able to travel the world but with your videos and others just like it I am getting to see the world by rail. Also being born and raised in a railroad town in central Pennsylvania in the USA I love trains and these videos are so priceless to me. Thank you for making these and allowing me to see the world from the comfort of my own home
Thank you. I am very happy that you are enjoying the videos 👍😊
Nice video

Very happy to hear that you are enjoying the videos 👍😊
My old line, remember the Tait,Harris,Hitachi trains taking me to school and work, Kooyong tram square crossing, only 2 left now,l live at Glenhuntly and the Glenhuntly Rd tram square has been recently removed, with the Rd above the new rail tunnel and the new Glenhuntly station being built, after catching rail replacement buses for some time, looking forward to the trains running again
There have been a lot of changes over the years, that's for sure. You've seen a few 👍😀
You will remember then when some trains used to terminate at Darling and Waverley was almost in the bush.
@@DavidWilliams7037A yes, that's right 👍😊
Man this is really peaceful to watch :)
Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😊
Glen Waverley is often a line I forget about since it goes in between the other main East suburbs lines. It's a pity that it didn't extend to Scoresby and Knox or even as far as Lysterfield, those areas would have done nicely being connected to a rail service. It's probably too late for such a project to happen now.
It would cost a fortune for land acquisition and if it went underground even more of a fortune that the state doesn’t have after its past spending binges. The only way would be a tunnel bored from GW to the Dandenong Valley parklands with no intermediate stations (to reduce costs) and then run above ground to a couple of stations via industrial areas.
Probably will not see any extension of it in my lifetime 👍😊
Might be too late, woulda been great to integrate it into The Glen refurb as a new underground station and extend out or link, but don't they also have the SRL coming?
Lysterfield would be better serviced by the Belgrave Line.
Who knows what the future holds 👍😊
As a blind person, I and other people I know sometimes use this line to get to Vision Australia, which is conveniently right next to Kooyong station. As a rail enthusiast, I love that it gives me a chance to go over the tram square whenever I go there. I sometimes also head up from Malvern station by tram if I need to go that way instead, but still get a chance to cross the square by tram which is cool too.
Very happy to be able to bring the tram square into your home for you. 👍😊
@@driver667It's always fun even just watching videos of the tram squares, especially the ones at Gardiner and Glenhuntly which are now gone. I actually got to go through the Gardiner square about ten years ago one time when I went on the train to Glen Waverley with my dad. Kinda cool how there used to be two squares on the one line, only two stations apart.
Excellently done. these are better than others I’ve seen. I would only ask that you be more descriptive as to location, these are being seen by rail enthusiasts across the world and they may not know where they are being taken. I live in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, and have traveled around Australia, but others haven’t… Thank you….
Glad to hear you enjoy them. Thank you for your comments. I am continually looking at what can improve them or what info can be added to the description. 👍😊
I think the Outer Circle railway went through her to Oakleigh when darling was the terminus.I stand corrected.
It crossed over just past East Malvern station. The reserve for the outer circle line is still in place for most of the way between Alamein and Hughesdale
As stated, just past East Malvern is where it crossed over. If you look in the melways or on google earth, the path it took is very easy to see. 👍😊
thanks again for another good vid. Is this one of the metro trains? don't answer, i saw an image of it in the monitor at 12:04 it has good pick up from a standing start
Good job 😊 Yes a Metro X'Trapolis train. Glad you enjoy them 👍 😀
Strange that one forgets a line ,last time I was out here was on. Ballast to jordanville in 2015.
A few changes over time but mostly the same 👍😀
Darling Station is on the Glen Waverley Line.
👍😊
Back in the day the majority of suburban stations were manned and parcels could be delivered by trains. Is it still possible to do so today?
No, unfortunately parcels are no longer sent by train. 🤔👍😀
I’m surprised when watching this that they left some major roads as level crossings. Specially before/after Toorak road overpass where they could have continued it over adjacent roads.
I guess they had their reasons 🤔👍😊
Destination: Jeannie Little's favourite town....... Ooooooh, Daaaaahhhhh-ling! LOL
