My favorite moment in this book is when Dalinar turns around and sees the single bridge crew coming to the rescue, chills every time. After 4 books Kaladin is still my favorite, I love that man
My little brother, my bestfriend and I went on a roadtrip and I introduced them to this book with audible. My brother said he wasn't going to listen to it and just listen to his ipod. After the prologue, he said "dang it, now I'm invested." At one point during the trip, I didn't start it quick enough after getting into the car. My friend told me in no uncertain terms that "car time is book time." We ended up finishing the last 5 min in my driveway when we got back
I was invested with Kaladin almost from page 1, Dalinar had me when he plunged his shard blade into the rocks for the bridgemen i was ride or die from then. Currently on WoR
My favourite part of this book is a part that didn't click with me until my third read through. It's the part when Kalladin has finally had enough, when the constant barrage of failure and death became too much and he had been ground down to nothing by despair and depression, when the only light left in his life (Syl) has left him and there seems to be genuinely no way out aside from an agonizing slow death somewhere on the Plains. Kall is stood on the lip of the Honour Chasm about to jump when he looks around one last time and sees a bobbing light in the driving rain. That light turns out to be Syl struggling through the wind, rain and the weight of the single leaf she is carrying. She floats up to Kall and hands him the leaf which turns out to be the same variety he intended to kill the slaver with at the start of the book, Syl then says something like "I'm sorry I was gone for so long but it took me a while to find this" and when he doesn't seem pleased with the gift of a poisonous leaf she says "the last time you had one of these you smiled, you tried, you had hope and you haven't smiled since you lost it. I thought if I brought you another you might smile again."
To be fair, D's misinterpretation of the vision did make him loose a lot.. Troops, shardblade and his trust in Sadeus. But he arguably gained more.. Conclviction, clarity what to do and a team lead by a ultra strong radiant /windrunner warrior.
@@rubensoeteman The shardblade was a fair trade.... That was the most powerful moment in the book. He was willing to trade a priceless item for some slaves to replay Kaladin.
YEEEEEEEEEEES. This book is so good, I loved everything, lots of people feel that Sanderson drgs out some scenes but I loved all of it, including the Interludes, I guess I'm just a sucker for world building. And the Sanderlanche, I legit read the last 200 pages of TWoK in one sitting because I couldn't put the book down, I'd close it to try and pace myself and the scramble on to the next page right after. YES to all of this!!! Thanks for watching and the sub! Good luck on book 2, that's an emotional rollercoaster. Syl and Kal's relationship is one of my favorite parts of this series as well. :D

Honestly, I had almost the same ride of emotions roller coaster, though I really liked the Shallan chapters and the philosophical approach. Really invested in Dalinar and Kaladin. As always I love how Sanderson gives us little bits of ancient knowledge, just enough to keep me invested.
I enjoyed your blog very much! Please do the same for Words of Radiance! WoR is actually my favorite Sanderson book. Shallan doesnt get a lot of love, but I think I can relate to her more than Kaladin. Something about her total lack of self esteem and the way she deflects her feelings with stupid jokes rings true to me. I guess I can see through the facade she puts up more than some fans who get too wrapped up in the banality of her presentation, but her interior life is much more serious. She is quite discerning with an artist's eye but can delude herself (Kabsal) like any of us can. Her climactic confrontation with Jasnah in TWoK is as gripping to me as any battle scene. Stay tuned for more on Renarin. You'll be pleased I think with how his character is fleshed out. It will take longer than some other characters but it'll get there. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on WoR!
William Vesey Hi! Nice to meet you, and thank you for the awesome comment. I’m already liking Shallan better in WoR, and I think the fact that she is more hidden from the reader in WoK makes sense for her character. I’m very interested in her arc, as I’ve been told Sanderson tackles some strong mental health themes with her as well. One thing I do appreciate a lot about her already is that she doesn’t follow many of the current “strong female character” trends. I find her much more nuanced than most. I really look forward to more Renarin! I will definitely be blogging my WoR experience. I wasn’t sure at first but I’m seeing that it would be a good idea. Again, thanks for the good insights! I’ll hopefully see you around.
I loved this reading Vlog. Thank you Tori for making me laugh so hard which happened on the part with Dalanir and Sadeas. I love this book so very much. From the four out it may be my favourite. Still it's priceless to hear a perspective like this because you are going through it for the first time.
Thank you so much for the kind comments! That's what I was hoping to share with other Sanderson fans, the experience of going through the book for the first time, because it's something we never get back :) My favorite is Words of Radiance, but WoK definitely is close behind. It's such a powerful introduction to the series and characters. Thanks for watching!
Ugh now I want to reread this book and I should't. I should wait for the fifth one. Whyyyyyy. But seriously this was so fun & Kaladin is my absolute favorite.
I love your Vlog. Cannot wait to watch the rest. I wish more people did this. I would give anything to experience these books again for the first time.
I loved this book, it took me 3 tries to get to the 2nd chapter. Chapter 1 kept throwing me off, but on the third one I pushed through it and SO glad I have. So far this is one of my favorite series of all time and I'm only 2 books done, about to start book 3. Cyl, Rock, Kaladin, Dalinar and Wit are my top tier favorites. Though I like more characters than I dislike. Sadeas... I loathe him.
Way of Kings is officially my favorite book in the Stormlight Archive (after rereading both it and the second book). Yes the second book has a good payoff for the build up, but we are still spending a good chunk of the book following Shallan and as much as I tolerate her as a character, I would have seriously wanted MORE chapters on Kaladin than we had already gotten in Words of Radiance. The reason why Way of Kings is just that much more enjoyable for me now, at a reread is because I can see it through the lens of someone who's also been through depression and I understand better the healing journey Kaladin goes through in this book. My reread of these books have invigorated my love for Kaladin as a character. At which point did I feel like I was invested in the characters? Kaladin in the slave wagons. I wanted to know what happened to him that he became a slave.
I really liked this book. The real question is really what character don’t you like. I liked the entire scene of Caladin (sorry for spelling, I listened to the audio book) really using his power in the rescue attempt. I was invested in it in the very beginning part with the harolds (I assume they were the harolds) I wanted to know what they were and where in the book they might appear. As it was an audio book I couldn’t flip back and forth enough to remember the three named Harolds in the beginning. I am a fan of mysterious obviously powerful but hidden characters so Wit was a favorite. Sil is a favorite. I also liked the captain who helped shallon in her arrival. I can go on. Again, what character don’t I like? Haha
I’m reading it for the 5th time. Ahead of WoR for the 4th time, Oathbringer 3rd, and finally Rhythm 2nd ahead of Knights of Truth next December. Great vlog, I’ll watch your WoR video next, can’t wait to see your thoughts on “Honour is dead”
tori reminds me a lot of elmify if anybody else knows who that is this was a great reaction vlog, had me busting up laughing at various points, very much interested in seeing you read the rest of the series there are several places where this book makes me cry, especially on rereads, and it's all kaladin. when he steps away from the honorchasm, when he relives his brother's death and decides to go save dalinar, when dalinar trades his blade for the bridgemen. "a life is priceless" is one of my favorite lines from WoK
I just finished WoK and I promised myself I was going to read Warbreaker and finish The Final Empire before starting Words Of Radiance but I don’t know if I have that much self-control.
I got hooked pretty early actually. The thing was, I found out about Brandon Sanderson through his finishing the last 3 books of The Wheel of Time, which I'd been reading since 1994. So i already knew that I loved his writing and characterizations from what he did there. So, when did I get hooked on this series specifically? It's been a few years, but when I ask myself that question, the first image that pops to mind is Syl flitting around Kal's cage, shortly after it becomes obvious that she is more than she first appears, and has a ridiculous sense of humor! I could already tell I was going to love the Tinkerbell / Pan dynamic between these 2!
Just finished this book, and watching your emotions as you went thru it was amazing! I just started book 2. Hoping you did a similar vlog for that one too!
I fell in love with this book as soon as bridge four was first mentioned. I absolutely adore Kaladin and identify with him quite a bit as well. The humor in all 4 of his books is so fantastic and genuinely made me laugh out loud a lot!
Can I just say how BRILLIANT the concept of the flashbacks are?! Like, we're introduced to Kaladin in the middle of a battle, leading his squad, more legend than man; and then the very next chapter he's in a slave wagon?! I NEEDED to know how that happened and that desire kept me going up until the Honor Chasm (coincidentally RIGHT AFTER the first Kaladin flashback), at which point I was hooked for life!
@@ToriTalks2 I meant more in the sense that the flashbacks are a great way of elucidating a mystery in the character’s past. Normally, I don’t like flashbacks in books, but I LOVE them in Stormlight because of the mystery element. And Kaladin’s flashbacks are (in my opinion) the most dramatic example. We first see him at the top of the world and then it immediately cuts to him at rock bottom. And the whole appeal of the book for me- at least initially- was my curiosity about how Kaladin went from squad leader to slave.
I also recommend reading Brandon's annotations to TWOK, unfortunately he only made those up to chapter 12 but there's some interesting stuff, you can find it on his page. Also I know you read Mist born trilogy and he made annotations to those as well :)
Honestly, this is my favorite series of all time! I loved it and had such a good feeling from it. Plus I was kinda tiptoe-ing towards depression when I read it and it seriously brought me out of it. I mean his grief and pain was relatable enough that I felt like I was talking to another person about MY troubles. It was fantastic!!!! My favorite part was either a tie between when kaladin was hung up for the high storm or when their bridge came back for dalinar!
I can totally relate to that. Kaladin is such a good character and easily relatable to people who struggle with depression and other mental illnesses. I’m glad that you found some joy and solidarity in the series, that’s so powerful. Books are awesome.
I thought it was really sweet and wholesome to see Sadeus show a genuine interest in his old friend and his new favorite book. I thought that being a good friend in his private life and a ruthless slave owner and warlord on the job was a very interesting, layered juxtaposition in his character. One we don't often get in fantasy books. And then I had to suddenly throw all of that out of the window, lol. I was a bit disappointed by the betrayal, but what we got in return more than made up for it. Bridge Four's decision to rescue Dalinar's army, Kaladin and Dalinar finally meeting, Navani painting the giant glyph on the ground, Dalinar's satisfying confrontation with Sadeus... I really wanted to believe in Sadeus, but the book definitely works better with him as an antagonist.
Sadeus' arc is definitely a roller coaster, lol! And I agree. I think we desperately want a different ending because we want better treatment for Kaladin and Dalinar's family. Bridge Four rocks.
SPOILER I read the part where Kaladin and Bridge 4 decide to go back and save Dalinar and Adolin at the expense of their own freedom for the first time when I was getting my hair done and was literally sobbing and tried to explain it to my hairdresser but certainly just sounded like a crazy person. Just gives me goose bumps/chills thinking about him using the bridge as a ramp and jumping the chasm

@@ToriTalks2 From what I hear he's one of the biggest names in the niche genre of military science fiction but he's done a little fantasy too. I discovered him through his Dahak trilogy (all three books of which you can find in a collection titled "Empire from the Ashes") but he's probably best known for his "Honor Harrington" and "Safehold" series. As far as David Weber fantasy goes there's his "War God" series and an unfinished (frowny face) series he co-wrote with Linda Evans called "Hell's Gate." There's so much more I could say about David Weber, but in an attempt to keep it short 1. He's tied with Brandon Sanderson for my favorite writer. 2. He has a small RUclips channel. 3. The Honor Harrington series alone is 15 books long and counting (excluding the 2 prequel series, 2 parallel series, several books of short stories, and a couple of comics). Sorry if that scares you off but I thought I should give you at least that much of a heads up. Good news though! Most (all?) of the "Honor Harrington" books aren't Stormlight length. They're more normal novel sized. I'll stop there. Thanks for replying and reading!
Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. The 100/200/300 check boxes were to encourage me to read further, in long books it helps me to have a goal like that! As far as content notes, most of it is in my head. I do jot down quotes that I enjoy from time to time. 🥰
@@ToriTalks2 this books throws a lot of things at you, getting so close to things 3 books in at the start of Way of Kings is legit impressive. Sadeas not withstanding you win some you loose some 😋
@@ElNicoDallas I think Sadeas was wishful thinking because I do love a good redemption arc. But I’m glad it didn’t end up that way, would’ve been far less satisfying
I just finished it and l adore every little detail about it 😭💞🤧 specifically the tower arc, also I can't just choose one character as my fav, I NEED TO READ MORE ABOUT THEM😭😭 but if must it will be for sure my sweet sad boy kaladin
Welcome to the Stormlight circus! I’m so glad you enjoyed it 🥰 Kaladin is a great character, I think you’re going to love him going forward into the rest of the series. And there are so many great characters. 🥰
Kaladin is the best character. The fact that he basically said, "I'm going to survive this highstorm" without actually thinking he was going to, but then actually DOING IT?? Total mic drop moment.
best moment is from Teft's perspective when it's revealed that Kaladin survived the highstorm. Only time I actually cried reading a book, well done Sanderson
I had to wait for Book2 to come out so I reread Book1 many times. There are a few mysteries that are set up. Shallan mentions 10 heart beats. Oh, that’s funny. I thought I knew before, but I just figured it out… Anyways, lots of mysteries!
Kaladin is my favourite. I became invested when Sadeas abandoned them XD At least I realised how much I cared for them because I was in shock and in a state of "how do you leave them to die"
I agree! I definitely had a few redeeming moments with Shallan in WoR and Oathbringer, but I'm still not a huge fan. RoW is definitely helping her cause.
I loved Kaladin and then Dalinar did what he did with his Shardblade, and I fell in love with him. I didn't make that connection about the epigraphs, but why we have them- so creepy. And Saedus, I never fully trusted, but a major Villanova took me by surprise.
I really dug the Shallan parts but I think the way they were broken up did them a disservice, cos not nearly as much happened in that storyline. if it was a lil mini arc in the middle of the book by itself it would have worked better imo!
I agree with you! Her storyline was very slow paced comparatively, which some readers really vibed with because it broke up all the action and soldier-yness. Personally I like a lot of fast paced action so I didn't mind it.
Ha I just finished the Way of Kings and I felt like I had this same emotional rollercoaster. I think my two favorite parts of the novel were one: when we get the explanation of Jasnas soul casting after Shallan pieces together that hers was a fake, and then also of course when Kaladin turns bridge 4 around to save Dalinar and then Dalinar trades his shardblade for their freedom, WHAT A BOOK 😭 I'm starting book 2 tonight
It's such a crazy ride, isn't it??? Have the BEST time with book two, and thanks so much for sharing the experience! Book Two is even more of a rollercoaster!
As I heard you talk about Shallan being slow and not as interesting I totally heard you, I kept saying out loud “just wait til the end” and furthermore the second book… and third too.
Lol! Shallan is still not my favorite character in the series after catching up with all four novels. But she definitely has a lot of interesting events in her plotline!
@@ToriTalks2 yeah, Shallan isn’t my favorite character either but she is one of the most interesting, plot points and she is just so different with how she deals with things, she’s really cool and annoying at the same time haha.
Your opinions on Shallan, man i had the same reaction and i didnt want to feel that way about her, but my opinions on her changed alot in the later books
Welcome to the Cosmere, Tori! I’m glad you enjoyed it. The ending is bonkers! This is my least favorite Stormlight book. Words of Radiance is sooooo much better, and I know that’s saying something.
Hi! I highly recommend the large paperbacks. I’ve read all three of the first Stormlight books this way and it has been a pleasant experience. This ISBN is: 978-0-7653-7667-1 Have fun reading!
The part in Kaladin’s backstory when Amaram slaughters his men, while holding Kaladin down and forcing him to watch and then branding him as a slave makes me physically ill. Every time I read it it is the most gut wrenching thing in the book for me.
@@ToriTalks2 For context I have probably read that book more than a dozen times now including audiobook. It got me back in to reading and I finished it in 4 days the first time through
For me, Kaladin was a slog until he looked into the pit, Shallan was a slog until she bought some books, and I always liked Dalinar. I too wanted the redemption arc, but what we got was way better
Shallon was not my favorite either. I didn't hate her or anything, but I didn't like her as much as the other two. My favorite character, all said an done and three books in, is Dallinar. But Kal is a great character as well!
@@ToriTalks2 I felt like I was in high school chanting fight fight fight at brawl between the pompous ass of the choir and the football QB that everyone fell over themselves for
I've only read The Way of Kings but I liked Elhokar, and was kinda like what the hell when Dalinar started beating him up. Like I could understand where Dalinar was coming from, but I ended up liking him less when he started doing that. Also I was so happy when Kabsal died, because it meant no more of those extremely boring scenes of Shallan and him talking about religion. This is the only Sanderson book I've read so far but I feel like dialogue is his weakest point. It just goes on for too long a lot of the time IMO
I was concerned I wouldn't, but so far I'm enjoying the re-read, but Sanderson's humour is so unfunny to me. I only mention this because I think it's a great contrast but I'm also re-reading The Blade Itself and I love Abercrombie's humour. Obviously, Abercrombie is more suited to my taste anyway so he has the advantage but what I noticed is with Abercrombie the humour speaks for itself but with Sanderson he tries to get other characters to reinforce how funny it is, which is why I think so many people take issue with Shallan. I like her despite that but it doesn't help.
His humor is definitely hit or miss, I often find it's a miss for me as well. I think Abercrombie's humor is generally really good. I totally agree with your points!
@@ToriTalks2 any plans to continue with the First Law Universe or has LAoK soured the whole thing for you? Cuz now I'm honestly not sure what you'd make of them.

That's what I was hoping to share with other Sanderson fans, the experience of going through the book for the first time, because it's something we never get back :)
My favorite is Words of Radiance, but WoK definitely is close behind. It's such a powerful introduction to the series and characters.
Thanks for watching!
Ugh now I want to reread this book and I should't. I should wait for the fifth one. Whyyyyyy. But seriously this was so fun & Kaladin is my absolute favorite.
You should definitely reread it. :D
I love your Vlog. Cannot wait to watch the rest. I wish more people did this. I would give anything to experience these books again for the first time.
Hi Josh! Thanks so much for your comment, I’m glad you enjoyed it! They’re fun videos to make. 💜 Welcome to the channel!
Love it! Chapter One was a trip for sure. Good luck with book 3, enjoy!!!
Shallan is good
I really liked this book.
My WoR vlog and reading experience was one of my favorite videos!
Your reading buddy is the cutest
Isn't she! She's the sweetest cat. I love her.
tori reminds me a lot of elmify if anybody else knows who that is
this was a great reaction vlog, had me busting up laughing at various points, very much interested in seeing you read the rest of the series
there are several places where this book makes me cry, especially on rereads, and it's all kaladin. when he steps away from the honorchasm, when he relives his brother's death and decides to go save dalinar, when dalinar trades his blade for the bridgemen. "a life is priceless" is one of my favorite lines from WoK
Aww thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. This book is a roller coaster of emotions for SURE.
"Well that comment didn't age well". Yes, but the Kaladin/Dalinar alliance one does.
Yes it does! :)
Make another vlog! That was hilarious
Sparrow Springs Thanks! I’m trying to decide if I’m going to vlog Book 2.
V. Tecken Novels dooooo iit?
Just finished this book, and watching your emotions as you went thru it was amazing! I just started book 2. Hoping you did a similar vlog for that one too!
Hey! Thanks so much for the sub! Yes, I have vlogs for Oathbringer and RoK as well!
Wonderful format! Love to hear chapter to chapter review; so refreshing!
Simply hearing you read the dedication makes me wish I could hear you narrate the whole thing! Such a lovely voice!
Thank you so much! That made my day. I'd love to read audiobooks one day.
I fell in love with this book as soon as bridge four was first mentioned. I absolutely adore Kaladin and identify with him quite a bit as well. The humor in all 4 of his books is so fantastic and genuinely made me laugh out loud a lot!
Kaladin and Bridge Four are wonderful. So much heart at the center of a wild world. 💜💜💜 The humor is so good, especially in his relationship with Syl.
@@ToriTalks2 Teft also pulls at my heartstrings!! I think I’m partial to grumpy characters and people lol
@@brianalavigne3381 Teft is AWESOME. I totally get it.
There are some GREAT Kaladin moments in this book, I totally agree. It was a great spot for a flashback.
@@ninakrishnamurthy6674 that makes sense!
Loved this Vlog. Love the book. I'm a huge Kaladin fan. There are too many scenes of Kaladin that hit me hard. He is just a well written character
I totally agree, Kal is a fabulously written character. And thank you so much for watching!!!
SPOILER
I read the part where Kaladin and Bridge 4 decide to go back and save Dalinar and Adolin at the expense of their own freedom for the first time when I was getting my hair done and was literally sobbing and tried to explain it to my hairdresser but certainly just sounded like a crazy person. Just gives me goose bumps/chills thinking about him using the bridge as a ramp and jumping the chasm
Oh it's SO GOOD I don't blame you at all. There's some powerful moments in this book.
this is amazing, i dont know how many of these you have done but i hope u did all the books and u do more in the future.
Thanks so much! I hope to do Rhythm of War this year, but I do have vlogs for Oathbringer and WoR!
@@ToriTalks2 nice
Omg, i love this review!!! MY FEELING EXACTLY!!!!
My fav character is dalinar ❤
He's so good!!!
I immediately subscribed to your channel the moment future Tori appeared and corrected your pornounciation of Jasnah's name!
Well I subbed AFTER I stopped laughing so hard. I can't COUNT the number of times I found myself correcting a youtubers mispronounced use of Jasnah's name, and for you to do it to Yourself in such a creative way...
It was so clever and entertaining I can't wait for your next reading vlog! (WoR hopefully) love love LOVED this content!
Welcome to the channel! I’m so glad you found it entertaining, things are pretty tongue in cheek over here. 😂 Thanks for the sub!!! This comment made my day. 💜
Can we just talk about how there were so many plot twists in the last 50 pages. I was screaming!
For sure! Sanderson really crams a lot of plot into those last few pages!
im watching this in 2022, Watching you go though this is amazing
That first read through never gets old XD Thanks so much for watching!
On rereads, I read all the Kaladin chapters in a row as if it’s a separate novel. Then same with Shallan.
3:01-3:05
(Starts sweating in anticipation) Any chance of a reading vlog on a David Weber book then?
No idea! Anything is possible. This is the first I'm hearing the name.
As far as David Weber fantasy goes there's his "War God" series and an unfinished (frowny face) series he co-wrote with Linda Evans called "Hell's Gate."
There's so much more I could say about David Weber, but in an attempt to keep it short
This is the best Way of Kings vid. Period. Would like more info about the notes you take while reading.
Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. The 100/200/300 check boxes were to encourage me to read further, in long books it helps me to have a goal like that!
As far as content notes, most of it is in my head. I do jot down quotes that I enjoy from time to time. 🥰
You got pretty close in a few of your predictions, well done
Thank you!!! I’m usually not incredibly detail oriented when I read but I have moments. 😂 It was fun to try to figure it out.
Sa-hey-deese is how I pronounce Sadeas and I don't think it's right but I'm going with it
best moment is from Teft's perspective when it's revealed that Kaladin survived the highstorm. Only time I actually cried reading a book, well done Sanderson
It's so powerful. And incredible scene!
I had to wait for Book2 to come out so I reread Book1 many times. There are a few mysteries that are set up. Shallan mentions 10 heart beats.
Oh, that’s funny. I thought I knew before, but I just figured it out… Anyways, lots of mysteries!
This is definitely a series that would have lots of Easter eggs on a reread for sure!
Kaladin is my favourite. I became invested when Sadeas abandoned them XD At least I realised how much I cared for them because I was in shock and in a state of "how do you leave them to die"
I’m thinking to read the stormlight archive before Mistborn but I think I shout read Mistborn first.
i love seeing someone reading WoK for the first time and knowing they dont know nothing about the ending. Hope you do words of radiance next
Thank you! I have Words of Radiance and Oathbringer vlogs on my channel too!
Kaladins first storm is when I was invested forever. Took me 2 books to actually like shallan.
I agree! I definitely had a few redeeming moments with Shallan in WoR and Oathbringer, but I'm still not a huge fan. RoW is definitely helping her cause.
The part that really got me IN to it was Kaladin's visit to the honor chasm. That was such a powerful scene.
Yes!!! I really is. So powerful.
I loved Kaladin and then Dalinar did what he did with his Shardblade, and I fell in love with him. I didn't make that connection about the epigraphs, but why we have them- so creepy. And Saedus, I never fully trusted, but a major Villanova took me by surprise.
Right? I love the Bridge Four arc, it’s definitely the heart of the story!
@@ToriTalks2 agreed. I loved Teft. And I also feel like I'm part of an inner circle for reading the beast that is WoK. Now to read the rest of SA.
@@emilyreads5207 You'll get more Teft if you keep reading! Reading SA is an accomplishment for sure, those are some chonky books!!!
@@ToriTalks2 Alloy of Law and some Arcanum stories are up in March. Words of Radiance I'm tackling in April
@@emilyreads5207 That's my favorite of SA, have a great time with it!
Also fuck Sadeas
It's such a crazy ride, isn't it??? Have the BEST time with book two, and thanks so much for sharing the experience! Book Two is even more of a rollercoaster!
As I heard you talk about Shallan being slow and not as interesting I totally heard you, I kept saying out loud “just wait til the end” and furthermore the second book… and third too.
Lol! Shallan is still not my favorite character in the series after catching up with all four novels. But she definitely has a lot of interesting events in her plotline!
@@ToriTalks2 yeah, Shallan isn’t my favorite character either but she is one of the most interesting, plot points and she is just so different with how she deals with things, she’s really cool and annoying at the same time haha.
the title made me laugh a lot, actual good one
Your opinions on Shallan, man i had the same reaction and i didnt want to feel that way about her, but my opinions on her changed alot in the later books
I've heard that from a lot of people and I'm especially looking forward to reading her character in Rhythm of War.

What is the IBSN of this edition? I'm tossing up between buying different versions and don't want the small mass paperback version!! Thank you!

15:50 Oh dear 😭
The part in Kaladin’s backstory when Amaram slaughters his men, while holding Kaladin down and forcing him to watch and then branding him as a slave makes me physically ill. Every time I read it it is the most gut wrenching thing in the book for me.
It's SO incredibly hard to read. 😭
Now I am an anticipation spren got me haha
😂 thanks. I kind of want to see them now. 🧐
I found that Shallan becomes a lot more likable on re-reads
I can see that! I look forward to rereading them in the future.
Agreed on the redemption arc. Especially once we get into WoR and Sadeas' arc there.
Shallon was not my favorite either. I didn't hate her or anything, but I didn't like her as much as the other two. My favorite character, all said an done and three books in, is Dallinar. But Kal is a great character as well!
Kal and Dalinar really were great in the first two books! 🔥
Did you enjoy Sadeas comeuppance?
Nasteho Yes, although it did feel a bit rushed. 😱 But Adolin is a literal beast.
