I love Henrik's approach to mixing! Although kinda don't see the point in spending time recording a drum kit, only to replace all the drums with 5 samples a time. On a song thats so emotional and such a great capture of performance, i don't think its justified
You'd be surprised at the difference between programming drums, and recording drums + triggered snare/kick/toms. They captured the performance amazingly well on this record but reinforced with those big samples. And yes of course the drummer played on the record... what do you think you're hearing now?
I subbed to NTM for the architects session, but missed Henrik's stream and paused my subscription since I can't afford it every month. Am I right in thinking that I won't be able to view the full stream unless I resume my subscription? Thanks
@@xradical89x nope I'm not, there's just so much better production out there. To be fair, the drums don't sound THAT bad but in combination with the guitars and bass it all sounds very muffled. Record misses some punch and high end

josefrancisco It's a type of auto dynamic eq. It reads peaks in the spectrum and smooths them out.
Were drum shells sample enhnced in any way?
Yes, very much. They replaced the snare and bass drum to the fullest. The only natural drums are in the overheads and can be heard in this video.
