This is probably the most satisfying ending I've ever had to a beloved series... The entire 3 seasons flashes before your eyes in this very scene & you feel it in your core.... Great series. Never believe anything else.

It was great until that horrendous music choice, it didn’t fit the tone of the show whatsoever and ruined the ending a bit.
They should have skipped the intro on the final episode and played the entire intro song in place of ‘What a wonderful world’. It would have fit the theme “the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning” perfectly.

There is also a hint given in episode 5 of season 2 that in staring scene Middle Jonas dreamed where he is with Teenage Martha on bed and then suddenly Martha belly Ejects black liquid and that was their son, the origin, he was shocked because Adult jonas never goes to Martha for intercourse on bed , but because in true sense he goes to Martha world and died and reincarnated in alternate version.
And this song just was playing during Stranger Jonas was on work, indicating that he is done dying

The realisation they both go through in this scene is one of the most devastating moments I’ve ever seen in a tv series. Realising that the you you are in that moment and the connection you have made with your soulmate and your entire existence was just a mistake. A dream that is now over. This scene pops in to my head from time to time for no reason.
What a great scene. The acting is fantastic, and the music is so haunting and adds even more emotion to a sad ending that they both realize their very existence is about to end but at least they were with each other, the person each of them loved.

From 1:36 you can see Martha is scared, question if anything of them will remain, until she realize they're going to disappeared 2:27. A little smile from Jonas 2:41 is trying to calm her down and everything will be okay. We're a perfect match, never believe anything else.

This scene proves that Dark is like a beautiful opera. The part of this episode that begins with Martha following Jonas into the mouth of the cave, standing there and realizing that her decision will result in the erasure of her existence, and ends with this scene, is perhaps the most beautiful sequence in all of television history. It just takes your breath away and leaves you emotionally spent.

The creators of DARK surpassed the standards of being humanly perfect when they created this show. These songs, still to this day, send chills down my spine. what a show !! what a song!! what an achievement in the cinematic history !! what a masterpiece !! To watch/dissect DARK is a gift, for those who know to use it. DARK will be remembered for the ages to come.

A bad guy who kills your lover twice, in fact, given that the way the loop was meant to happen was that Adam would kill Eva, then alt-martha kills Adam.
After watching Dark, I felt like other films felt empty. Dark is the best I've ever seen
Germany is gonna take A LONG time before they can produce something that is even remotely as good as Dark. The writing, the acting, the soundtrack, even the CGI were all so well made. And the ending was perfect and satisfying to conclude the story. Bittersweet, sad and heartbreaking but satisfying where you watch and think "yeah, that was such a great way to end this show".

What I love most about this show, aside from the great acting and the incredible writing, was that it had a definitive beginning, middle and end. They may have been tempted to do a Season 4 and "The Further Adventures of Jonas and Martha," but they wisely opted to stop. It was perfect.

Louis Hoffman and lisa vicari delivered some of the best acting I've ever fucking seen and they're still so young... they speak pretty decent English as well, I hope they find their way into more mainstream success because their talent is boundless

Jonas from the first world and Martha from the second world successfully avoid Tannhaus's family crash, eliminating the pain that he created the machine in the first place. As a result, Jonas and Martha are erased from existence, along with both worlds.

This whole scene and series resembles a metaphor of heart and brain Martha and Jonas being the representatives of it, the duality we see in nature and in us as humans. They at last are in coordination together telling Marek that the bridge is closed that he doesn`t have to get away anymore because his feelings and his thoughts have finally understood and embraced each other just like Martha and Jonas have towards a common action witch is love.
It's sad to think that Jonas and Martha were never happy together. I mean, they couldn't live together as a normal couple or enjoy their mutual love and in the end they only disappeared as if they had never met and because they would never have to exist 💔

I think we all should appreciate love ( even if its for slightest) because things that we have around us fades away with time. This might be the different Jonas or Martha but they felt it. Imagine if s3 ended with Jonas and Martha being the cause of Marek and his wife and daughter dying when they appear in the middle of the road which causes they car to cash. The ending was perfect but there is always that what if. Feel like this would have driven everyone insane!!
Perhaps in an alternate world that's what actually happened that started all of this. That world was the start, this is the end.
Dark is brilliant -- no doubt about it -- but it also has to be the most "meta" series ever created.

I recently finished the show and it’s one of the best shows I’ve ever seen and one of the best endings in any tv show ever, this show has made me cry
Best syfy/drama show i've seen in years, i remembered i watched the entire 3 season at once. It broke me, i cried, a bittersweet finale but a great one.

Maybe with the tears running down their faces and the intense and depressed looks the 2 actors do too much, but its makes us feel their absolute sadness. They are good actors, even if I find that the sound of Martha's tear falling was not necessary xD.

In season 2 finale Martha told this to him, and now he told this to her. Yes, other Martha, but it's eventually the same, show spent most of time showing they have bond to each other, from whatever alt world they are.
When I think of great storytelling, acting and ambience in tv there are 4 shows that immediately come to mind : MASH, Breaking Bad, All In The Family and Dark (with subtitles, not dubbed English).

First of all, Dark is perfect and this scene is painful, yet full of love and hope.
I also love the parallel with the story from Will and Lyra in the 'His Dark Materials' Trilogy, where they also can't be together to save everything, sacrificing love.

This is the perfect scene of all the series
I feel the whole series is to realize that Martha and Jonas are meant to be together , yet they live their own life in their independant parallel worlds...but the adam and eva itself the jonas and martha...nature repeats itself to make them understand that they are born for each other , a perfect match of the glitch in the matrix and they have to be together eternal. The byproduct of this realization by martha and jonas saves the Tannhuas family, which kicks out the time machine invention, so no more illusory parallel worlds; no more apocalypse; or time travel , but a single physical world where martha and jonas will have to lead a happy life in Winden germany.

Martha in Season 1 and 2 felt like just a side character. I did not expect her to be just as much of a main character as Jonas was by the end of the series.
How could a 4th or 5th season ever be made? This had a present, future, past, alternate timeline, etc. And the biggest problem is that they are not allowed to exist.
I have to admit that when alternate Martha arrived to save Jonas, I though they jumped the shark. But this show is just excellent.
Is Bartosz the only kid that could have possibly existed in the origin world?
Yes, because, Martha, Magnus, Jonas, Franziska and Elisabeth are all descendants of Bartosz. But since Bartosz was born after 86, we don't know for sure if he exists or not in the origin world.
