Jim and Sam totally glossed over the real issues at hand. They covered for Anthony big time and covered up his racial comments and Ron's heart to heart with him. Sadly, Anthony continued to spiral after this. He shouldn't be the guy running the show. He needs to be the color commentator, not the one driving the conversation. It's been 9 years since he started his own show, and he still looks and sounds uncomfortable running it.
Ronnie was the absolute best person to be on Compound that day and put that imbecile in check who was thirsting for a race-related confrontation on a broadcast.... against a funny veteran professional broadcaster. Yeah well, that worked out as expected, and Ant meekly sitting there made it even more hilarious.
Oh god, I remember that and it further cemented my absolute disdain for Leary. Even on a show that talked politics in a volatile time, the reason the show was great was it was a room of comics making jokes and shitting on each other. I was astounded then and now how a professional comic was still such a self-righteous ass he still snapped in that atmosphere.
@@TheTrolliosis The clip started off exposing his grift. He was asked was he upset about what happened with some black guy in Wilmington, and he said "no I'm not upset, but I just document black blah blah blah". He doesn't give a fuck about stopping crime, he just wants to continue to find a reason to hate black people like you said.
7:27 Very interesting how Jimmy seems to be very covertly looking out for Ant here. Seems like he doesn’t want SiriusXM broadcasting Ant getting racial, resulting in him getting blacklisted again. You’ll hear him very casually ask Troy to jump forward in the audio.
Poor Ant...so awkward and uncomfortable. That Colin guy has a lot of nerve marching in there and shit talking the great Ron Bennington like that. Besides, that guest and his talking points are probably a bit much for what Ant has going on at the moment. He's much better served just having some laughs with Ron right now.
Yea, we should all just laugh at the old people, handicapped, women, kids/ innocent people getting the shit beat out of them simply for beating white.. it's hilarious.so unlike these worn out howard stern wanna-bes.

JokerrRuth lol at running down Bennington. Acting tough physically is what someone does when they are weak mentally. It's the last refuge of someone who has nothing left to say or contribute intellectually. Ron, like every person with a brain, does not rely on physical intimidation... his AARP boxing joke is a joke about how he's not tough. That you think this is an insult against him speaks more about your backwards beliefs than anything else.

Anthony actually does have a point about Opie that's hard to deny. He could sit in those uncomfortable silences with ease. I think it's because as a person he had very little self awareness of how bad he was at his job and how others perceived him Still don't want him back though
Well Opie became a millionaire so he did something right....no shit, he was fine at his job, you obviously dont actually listen to much radio outside of Sirius...there are some horrible jocks and announcers out there...Opie is far from the worst, that being said I dont like how he thinks he was the genesis behind the show, he obviously had gifted program directors behind him as well as comedians. I'm not an Opie apologist but compared to the rest of the world, he's up there with the best when it comes to radio.
Von Dutchman Outside of Sirius are terrestrial radio dj's who have nowhere near the freedom that Opie had or make anywhere near as much money. yup, that was actually sad. Really sad. Nothing is more demoralizing then seeing a clown depressed. And I don't mean that in a bad way, Anthony is the worlds best clown in my opinion and it sucks to see him depressed.
As Jim keeps saying, Anthony's sad about his mom dying. We're all sad about it. How would Anthony handle this from a caller who's mom died? He'd play the clip of DeNiro in Cape Fear doing that loud laugh in the theater. Funny how that works, huh...

Ant never should've been on the air (or doing anything of consequence) so close to his mom's death. The days/at least a week after an important death, you're not in your right mind. This is why most companies give one full week of bereavement leave - not because they're generous, because they know you're useless till you have time to process. Everyone always thinks they're the exception, then learn the hard way that they're not.
Or, someone should have played Ant the clip that he loves so much of Deniro in Cape Fear doing that monstrous laugh, the one he always played when someone's loved one died.
Hey, why aren't you guys agreeing with the Pepe, Confederate Flag, and German Philosopher avatars when they say that Colin was right? I don't give a shit about either of these guys and clearly Colin was butt-hurt early on and started with the passive aggression until he eventually boiled over. I listed to the whole shit, so don't ask.
If you watch the full clip on youtube, you can clearly see Ron trying to get the show from going totally racist after Flaherty said chocolate hell hole. Sad that Jim and Sam didn't show that part.
Sounds like depression displaced as anger. In the words of a great fake psychologist, "It's not your fault". Forgive your dad and let it go bud. You don't hate the world, you hate yourself.
I feel so bad for Anthony in this. He had no business being on the air right after his mother died. There's a reason most employers give a week of Bereavement Leave. Because when an important person in your life dies (regardless of your current relationship) you're in shock and emotionally raw. Stay the fuck home - for your own good.
Right but Opie got the flak. It was Opie's fault not Jim as it were. Now that Jim is in the spotlight all by himself it shows he is part of the problem as well. Jim and Ant should do a show together. That is why the podacast is so good.
lee graves yeah i get what you're saying but Jim needs someone to work off of, and Sam just isn't funny enough to take a joke further. I listen to a lot of O&A and the moments Jim threw something out and Ant ran with it were some of the best times.
Blazed and Confused why not, its called multi tasking and multi talented. Its just them shooting the shit. How many times did we listen to opie and anthony talk about serious shit, then throw in a joke to ease the situation. Thats what this show is about. Not all jokes and not all seriousness. Colin came in only serious and angry, and it showed. Tried to alpha ronnie when it was uncalled for, oike if he did it he would gain a level of respect. Read the room properly and just smile and let the jokes fly while you talk about blacks. It would work better for him instead of listening to his diatribe uninterrupted dont ya think. Nice blend of comedy and racism. It was way to one sided and ronnie and cumia were shut dowwwwn.
Well, Flaherty does hold multiple doctorates in fields as diverse as biology, psychology and statistics, so I am sure his in-depth analysis of the subject is entirely trustworthy. Furthermore a comedy talk show is the perfect place to reveal "those kinds of truths" to us unsuspecting sheep.
Colin was invited on to talk about his stuff. Ron was being Ron. Nobody told Colin hey come in for some yucks and don't talk about your stuff. Ron was dismissive and didn't like it when Colin was dismissive back. Ron was being Ron, Colin was being Colin neither plays each others game. Either don't have them in at the same time or have Ron sit and listen. A little show prep would probably go a LOOOOOOOONG way. Love all three of them, Ants funny, Ron is introspective and Colin is a god damned encyclopedia of data. You two are clueless but that's not what we're discussing here.
I like Ron, but he came off like a dog with its rail between its leg. If you watch the video his hands were shaking, and his line to Ant "Am I enemy!?" was so awkwaard. Ron likes to think of himself as a tough guy but when we witness him in a confronting situation he came off as fragile and intimidated. I hate to say it becasue I like Ron, but 20 minutes after the Colin guy left he was saying multipal times 'You saw I wasnt effected by him!' 'You saw I could handle myself!'.
I think anytime you get the adrenaline pumping your hands are going to shake, tbh I don’t know how anyone could keep their cool when being directly attacked verbally.
Ron thinks he can get away with these little sideways comments about the "alt right," but he clearly doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about. Let's be real, he's just a loudmouth drunk, not an expert. It was an awkward booking, but Colin was put in an awkward position as well. He's not a goofy talk show guy, or a comedian. He's an actual journalist, an expert in his field. Most people never become an expert at anything, so maybe they don't appreciate the amount of time and work that goes in to being an expert. Ron was being dismissive, as if Colin's years and years of dedicated work was just a fucking joke. It's not a joke. And Colin only makes appearances to promote his work, or discuss his area of expertise. He's not a small-talk type of guy.
the way ron was talking is the way he always talks. when ron makes jokes he doesnt cackle and laugh at his own jokes hes more of a straight faced joker. hes always been that way. and hes a damn good interviewer if he doesnt agree with you he doesnt let it affect him he tries to pull the question out of you on why do you think that way and debate it. thats what ron was doing i like colin and what he says, because i live in a very awfull ghetto myself so i relate to what he was saying. its the same shit i tell people. but it seems like colin was a bit hostile against ron. i dunno if he just didnt know ron to good or what. imo i think colin catches so much shit for the topics he discusses, that he is at a point where he is sick of it and thinks EVERYONE is attacking him when they ask him a question he takes it as a doubt, instead of a debate. i like ants respect for ron that he kicked colin off after he started calling ron names. rons been around a long time and wasnt really doing anything but poking. but i do hope colin comes back as a solo guest where he isnt immature
"i think colin catches so much shit for the topics he discusses, that he is at a point where he is sick of it and thinks EVERYONE is attacking him when they ask him a question he takes it as a doubt, instead of a debate." Isn't this what people on the net would call a 'snowflake'?
I have a feeling if everything remained the same except Colin was a black guy it would have been a very different thing. Colin has a lot of good points but he comes off pretty racist so most people, including Ron don’t take him serious. If he was a black guy and said the same shit people might actually listen to him, not all of course, some would call him an Uncle Tom without a doubt.
I'm not defending the guy but I don't think he meant the fight would be over because he'd give ron a quick right hook. I think he meant the fight would be over quick because they are both old and neither would last more than a minute. opie would have pushed the envelope even further, ant would be cowaring under his desk.
Christian Burden that's possible, but it sounded more aggressive to me. I'd be more inclined to see it that way if he wasn't staring at Ron with the dead eyes and tried harder to communicate that it was a we're old joke.
PissedinTexas He didn't really say much and he was flustered as fuck if you watch the whole thing. Kept jumping from example to confusing example but never really made a salient point throughout the entire thing and when the conversation moved away from race THE DUMB FUCK INJECTED RACE INTO THE DISCUSSION AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY!!!!. He's a fucking idiot who is so socially inept that he doesn't realise that's not how conversation works on a show that tries to entertain. He was way out of his league and Ron Benington ran circles around him without even trying. Black people are not predetermined to commit crime by their genetics. It's scientifically preposterous to suggest it, environmental factors yes. If you make this obvious conclusion then this man has no point. He's just an angry fuck who needs to walk into a moving train
phanatic215 Lmao dude there are plenty of movies glorifying black crime too. American Gangster, Belly, New Jack City, etc. No one is using movies as a metric theyre using crime stats.
Z A C H Are you blind? It's already happening. There are thousands soon to be millions of mixed race people excelling in their fields because (and this may shock you) its actually a good thing to conceive a child with a diverse mix of genes as possible. I'm British and just take a look at how messed up the Monarchy of Europe looked because of the idiotic inbreeding. The fact that black people inhabit every facet of daily life proves that they are slowly becoming as boring and lame as us but they will always have a large angry section for the circumstances they arrived in America in the first place but to suggest there is a kill whitey gene in them is absolute bullshit.
Pat Tanackered there's always going to be angry people. This Colin dude is an angry white guy that is obsessed with angry black people. The average person is looking at both of those asses in shock
I would hardly call a person that, self admittedly, only writes about one race an "author on the subject". If you really thought Ron was the one who lost their cool in that situation, you probably don't do well with people out in public.
Brad Stanaland Oh bullshit. Ron got all butthurt that he brought race back up despite that being his area of expertise then pretended he was making a joke. And yes, he's an author on the subject who provides facts and evidence.
I don't think so. Not if you watch colins whole demeanor. I think he was wondering why colin was so defensive and that was him looking to ant to see if he was in the wrong. It's got to be jarring to have a guyget so defensive on a comedy show so he just wanted to run a temperature check with ant. Colin should have known they might poke fun at him on the AA show. Especially if you say shit like "chocolate hellhole".

MrGpt2010 but hey, are Leary were discussing it not having a chest contest.
this was such a nothing of a fight. It lasted less than two minutes and there was never anything bad even said.

Sam Roberts with the most tone deaf statement ever constructed
Jim and Sam were not being very objective about this. They were sticking up for Ron from the start.
Khum Dhan yeah, he's their friend
i have friends, but if theyre wrong, theyre wrong..
Jimmy is the little engine that could.
I feel bad for Ant. I hope he finds himself out there
Sam "yeah they are!" Roberts
I like Ron, but he came off like a dog with its rail between its leg. If you watch the video his hands were shaking, and his line to Ant "Am I enemy!?" was so awkwaard. Ron likes to think of himself as a tough guy but when we witness him in a confronting situation he came off as fragile and intimidated. I hate to say it becasue I like Ron, but 20 minutes after the Colin guy left he was saying multipal times 'You saw I wasnt effected by him!' 'You saw I could handle myself!'.
*tail
*the enemy
I think anytime you get the adrenaline pumping your hands are going to shake, tbh I don’t know how anyone could keep their cool when being directly attacked verbally.
Jack Ryan yup and he kept wanting to be begged to stay
Love Ant. 'Nuff said.
the way ron was talking is the way he always talks. when ron makes jokes he doesnt cackle and laugh at his own jokes hes more of a straight faced joker. hes always been that way. and hes a damn good interviewer if he doesnt agree with you he doesnt let it affect him he tries to pull the question out of you on why do you think that way and debate it. thats what ron was doing
i like colin and what he says, because i live in a very awfull ghetto myself so i relate to what he was saying. its the same shit i tell people. but it seems like colin was a bit hostile against ron. i dunno if he just didnt know ron to good or what. imo i think colin catches so much shit for the topics he discusses, that he is at a point where he is sick of it and thinks EVERYONE is attacking him when they ask him a question he takes it as a doubt, instead of a debate.
i like ants respect for ron that he kicked colin off after he started calling ron names. rons been around a long time and wasnt really doing anything but poking. but i do hope colin comes back as a solo guest where he isnt immature
"i think colin catches so much shit for the topics he discusses, that he is at a point where he is sick of it and thinks EVERYONE is attacking him when they ask him a question he takes it as a doubt, instead of a debate."
Isn't this what people on the net would call a 'snowflake'?
@@OniMorter ooft on the nose right there
I have a feeling if everything remained the same except Colin was a black guy it would have been a very different thing. Colin has a lot of good points but he comes off pretty racist so most people, including Ron don’t take him serious. If he was a black guy and said the same shit people might actually listen to him, not all of course, some would call him an Uncle Tom without a doubt.
Colin comes off as a truth teller. If that means "racist" to some people, that's not Colin's problem.
Ron Bennington is the enema.
Someone needs to squeeze that bag and let it flow, because it looks like it's about to blow
I'd be more inclined to see it that way if he wasn't staring at Ron with the dead eyes and tried harder to communicate that it was a we're old joke.
hahaha, yeah that's what I thought. Two old guys -- neither of whom is seemingly in great shape -- would put up a pretty short match.
U boys r wrong on this one. Colin is dead on
Dead on about what? He's just an angry old man who only reads what he already agrees with.
Anthony gave power to this degenerate by promoting his book.
sounds like Ron lost his cool to me.
thats what happens when you go from talking race with Gail, to an author on the subject.
fuck your "author" with his kindergarten level trigger words on the title
your comment reveals a lot. don't have kids, you might get cursed with a daughter. you piece of shit.
I would hardly call a person that, self admittedly, only writes about one race an "author on the subject". If you really thought Ron was the one who lost their cool in that situation, you probably don't do well with people out in public.
No that's what happens when some racist nobody tells you that you shouldn't be talking.
Brad Stanaland Oh bullshit. Ron got all butthurt that he brought race back up despite that being his area of expertise then pretended he was making a joke.
And yes, he's an author on the subject who provides facts and evidence.
I love Ron but his beg me to stay on the show and awkward "am I the enemy" line were cringe overload.
^Cumia fan nutjob. Look at the statistics!
Ha ha this show is so bad
Flaherty is the unfunny SIJW that he constantly rails against.
I saw the incident and IMO Colin was in the right
