      I remember doing vocals (around 2 years ago) with one guy who could beatbox, he learnt how to growl really fast, in a matter of few minutes. He could do a throat bass.

      Hi Jacklyn! Going from a false cord to throat singing would require a delicate true vocal cord connection which in practice means adding a clean voice with some overtones (false cord itself is not engaging the true folds too much and the throat singing uses both true and false vocal folds).
      It's much easier to firstly learn the throat singing seperately and then try to transist from it to the false cord. When the throat singing and the transition into the false cord are "smooth" and comfortable, then you can try to go from false cord to throat singing.
      Here is a throat singing tutorial I've made a couple of weeks ago:

      Here is a tutorial of how to transist from the throat singing into the false cord (growl is the easiest one to begin with but later you can also try it out with screaming):

    • @sibilaextremevocal

      It's about engaging a little bit of clean voice while doing the false cord (the sound will feel like it goes towards the soft palate and closer to a nasal cavity). But still it would be easier to learn the kargyraa independently from false cord, in the beginning.

    Anyone know how to set up a microphone to do death metal vocals in a band practice situation? Like what gear is recommended… thanks guys.

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  3 года назад +1

      Hi! You need at least 2 things - the microphone with a wire or wireless (shure sm58 is totally enough both for rehearsals and gigs or even recording vocals) and a PA/ speaker/ column. The active speaker doesn't need any additional tool like the interface or a mixer but the passive speakers need one.
      The active column is the cheaper solution. There are various options depending on your budget. Behringer is one of the cheapest choices. Yamaha is pretty expensive. Alto is a good brand, not too expensive and better than Behringer. Alto TS315 has 1000 W of power which is enough for doing vocals in a death metal music (which is loud so you need that power to be heard and hear yourself too). One of my friends recommended it to me, I will buy it.

    Siema mam pytanie. Czy nauka screamu jakiegokolwiek, czy false corde czy fry scream może pomóc w rozwijaniu czystego wokalu ?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  3 года назад +2

      Cześć, to zależy od tego jaki styl chcesz rozwijać. Jeśli chciałbyś mieć "szklany", nieskalany żadnymi przesterami głos (np. śpiew operowy), niekoniecznie, ale w przypadku śpiewu rozrywkowego jak najbardziej, oczywiście jeśli robisz to prawidłowo i bezpiecznie dla głosu.
      Techniki jak growl pomagają usprawnić pracę mięśniami takimi jak przepona, wzmacniają je, a dodatkowo pomagają "nauczyć" nasze gardło żeby było "otwarte" (pozbawione niepotrzebnych napięć), bo wykonywanie np. growla bez podparcia (m.in. pracy przeponą) i z napiętym gardłem od razu prowadziłoby do zdarcia się.

    Привет! Мне больно делать Kargyraa , это значит - что я делаю не правильно ? Я чувствую что мои ложные складки трутся друг об друга и возникает чувство жжения. Можешь что нибудь посоветовать ?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  3 года назад +1

      Hi! If it hurts or is really uncomfortable then it clearly means that something is wrong. The most common causes are too much air which irritates the folds or too much pressure/ too loud sound.
      Try it a little bit more delicate and remember that the placement for the false cord is a little bit above the larynx. Also that throat singing sounds can feel like it goes from the back of the throat, through soft palate towards the hard palate and backwards. It's good to avoid too high or too low pitch, middle tone is alright, the sound doesn't have to be too loud.

    How do you throat sing?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  3 года назад

      Hi!
      Answering that question only by writing a comment is a challenge but I'll do my best.
      When I was learning it firstly I didn't aim for the throat singing or anything like that. I wanted to find the placement for the false cord, many years ago.
      I was making the "clearing of the throat sound" and directed it above the larynx, like while doing false cord.
      When I realised that it sounds like some "mongolian stuff" I was trying to sustain that "clearing sound" for a little longer and longer. It wasn't too comfortable firstly so I made a few attempts to set the technique properly which took a couple of weeks.
      Later I started to immitate the sound of actual throat singers and was getting better and better. Then I found out that it can be helpful for growling as well.

    How exactly do you make the transition from kargyaa to growling? Is it exhaling more air?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  Год назад

      It's more like changing the spot where you focus the airflow - true vocal folds are relaxing and the airflow is directed towards the source of distortion which comes from the false vocal folds. The sound can be slightly more breathy in tje beginning but it's because of "more space" in the larynx, not because of pushing much more breath through the larynx.

    How do i do that tho?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  3 года назад +1

      Hi, the first important thing is the proper placement for the false cord, then we want to use it for making a sound that can remind of a motorbike (we don't aim for too low or too high pitch, mid pitch will be the most comfortable one). From that "motorbike sound" we transist into the growl (it feels like the motorbike sound is going gradually, a little bit higher and then it starts to slowly lower and in that moment we transist into the growl - we add a little bit more of the support and open our mouth for example with the "uu" sound).
