They expect you to be computer illiterate and just go along with everything they say. If you ask any questions they freak out because they think they're losing control over the scam.
That's what happens when you have the emotional maturity of a toddler and aren't bright enough to ad-lib if they deviate even slightly from the script.

I don't get this scam. If "Amazon" calls and tells me there's a suspicious order, I can log into my Amazon account in ten seconds to check the order myself.
I imagine they have some kind of an excuse, for example that the hackers hid the order or something.
What's really strange is how they turned it into a "virus" on their computer that they must fix.
I think the excuse they used here was that the hackers duplicated the account with all the information in tact but like. You could still take a moment to check your bank online and see that there were no transactions.
@@thecatherd First of all, your account being hacked into to this extent is a matter for the police, not a random indian dude on the phone. And you most likely have an insurance included with your bank account, or your bank can easily revoke the payment/freeze your account. And if your bank can't do it, neither will Amazon.

1) I loved the “gotcha” partial reveal where you stayed in character and showed the scammer a common scam tactic.

Scammer: umm, uhh, ...., well, we still need to verify your account information...

I had a guy call yesterday and I told him I just didn’t care what was going on with my accounts I only had 6 days to live 😂 he asked who told me that and I said my doctor. He then goes onto say only God knows that mam and I said well I dreamed God told me the same thing. 😝 he asked how old I was I told him 98 and he said yeah they’re probably right 😩 he was pissed

I remember watching a video about this, scams often use bad logic and spelling mistakes etc. on purpose to weed out people quickly that wont fall for it thus maximising efficiency in scamming time

I thank you SO much for posting these videos. I work customer service for banking. A 73 year old called me about getting an email from Norton about a charge on his account. He said he spoke to them and they said he needs to fill out a cancellation form and put in his address his bank name and bank account. Once I heard that I immediately knew that was fraud. Thanks to you I've learned something new and share it with my customers if they're worried if it's fraud or not. Well done 👏big fan by the way 😁👍

The social security scammer called me and said that my social was being suspended for illegal activity so I said excuse me what is the name under the social that is being suspended and they hung up on me 😂
I have 7 warrents out for my arrest 3 from social security and 4 from the IRS. Still waiting for the police to arrest me. These scammers are hilarious, but they do fool a lot of people.

Good god no, if tv companies got hold of this they would chop and change it to be more dramatic and thus making it completely fake.
Sadly they'd change it to an annoying format like they always do from RUclips to TV. I know of a medical one where it looked bad compared to the RUclips series it originally was. Then they had to remove many of the videos from the channel or made them private so only paying people could see. It was pretty sad so I wouldn't recommend it, or then the same would happen here.
Let's just keep it on RUclips.
What I'd rather see is more of an extension to this. A channel like Vice who show these videos then take a more in-depth look at the subject in a documentary style.

It would make more sense also with the fact that they couldn't access Edna's credit card. They could fake it by saying "I'm sorry. For security reasons, outsourced personnel cannot access customers' full credit card numbers. Only on-site personnel can do that".

One called me yesterday claiming to be from the Social Security Admission. I took my time to explain how her hustle is full of lies. As soon as she called she was asking for my SSN. I manhandled her over the phone. Sick of them trying to scam people.
I got one last night. They told me the cops were coming to take me to "the jell huss, behind the curdhouse!" I told him to hurry because it was pizza night at the jail. 🍕😆 Got a quick CLICK after that!

The creativity is amazing. In the middle of a conversation Kitboga does a series of 90 degree turns guaranteed to confuse whoever is listening.
Had an experience with an email scam today with my grandfather. It was extremely convincing since it looked like someone from another state had ordered a new iPhone through his amazon account. Thankfully the number provided was easily a scam number and I double checked his account and orders on my phone. Thank you for making videos like this. It’s so great to see someone calling these people out.

I love these videos. I work in customer care for a large bank in the credit card department and I get calls about poor customers being scammed like thid every single day. It is so interesting to see what actually happens whilr the scammer are trying to implemant their scam. Thanks for making these videos. This will help me help my customers even more going forward and help me educate them.

Reminds me of someone I know who got a scam call from a “Dave” with an obvious accent, and he starts telling me about it like “so Dave from Karachi called me...”
You're far more polite with them than I am. I just hung up a call with an amazing scammer after forty five minutes, then he called me back for another ten. All I did was swear at him and call him, his family, his country and his religion anything bad I could think of. I KNOW YT wouldn't have let that one be posted.
