That comes down to multiple factors, and all just add to making NK in a worse light:
Most all photography NOT supplied by NK itself is done by the rare tourists or travelers (like business people or governmental officials) stopping by and STEALTHILY taking them since NK has a VERY heavy case against any photography openly done in their country
Likely a case of wanting to hide as much of their openly known details as possible from having actual physical evidence of it
Others include: lacking automobile parts in a large quantity since the countries with massive stock of it are not Allie’s or willing to sell them cheaply enough for widespread usage
Governmental spending being more inclined for military usage and upper echelon expenditure, just look up anything to do with Kim and his family and the stuff they spend money on for personally spending
Finally is the case that much like many other smaller countries in the East they have massive divides between gender, social classes and economical classes so only the most politically powerful and wealthy usually have a personal vehicle either

Engine is in the crumple zone nowadays. Naturally you can't just crumple the engine per se, that's not gonna work, but it has to either rotate out of the way or dive down under the firewall. You want as much crumple zone length as possible to limit the deceleration, and simultaneously the passenger cell must remain rigid, and ingress of pedals and steering wheel inwards must be limited.

I'm surprised the SWF extraction even worked because when I last tested it from memory, I thought it was loading external assets from the server, which had a network policy preventing me from making a request to those assets (even with cURL and request headers). Never would have realised that all those assets would be conveniently cached in the Firefox/SeaMonkey profile. Anyways, in the end due to time constraints (high school life) I just kinda settled for an older version of SeaMonkey (yes macOS only sorry) operating similarly to Flashpoint (I think it could even use the same flash plugin version) but with less bloat.

this game looks like the driving simulator that I had to do for drivers Ed in high school. like the graphics are very similar, you get yelled at and fail for driving badly or crashing, it's got a set course that if you don't take you also fail, and is generally bad

About the Arch of Triumph replica: I remember someone in my (Chinese) family once mentioned the fact China would build replicas of famous worldwide locations, because some people don't really like the idea of abroad travels, so they prefer sticking to China. But they still want to visit stuff, I guess? It also helps those (locals or neighbouring) who can't afford in one way or another to come to Europe or the US. Ofc, as you mentioned there's also the "just for shows" factor (it's like they did in some places in Vegas).
I think Korea is pretty much following the same route, especially bc most people can't even basically leave the place in the first place.

Trust me they are absolutely ludicrous with their ILLUSION crap
I have seen stealth pictures, namely ones of tourists and journalists who brave the trip to secretly take photos of areas and locations you CANNOT, and they are insane
One a easily recall is one of a so called company of people working on their computers
It LOOKS like a normal office, if a bit cramped
But the photographer made it clear with further shoots that the computers were all BLANK SCREENED AND NOT EVEN POWERED ON
They literally have people crammed into a office PRETENDING they are working like normal office workers to create an illusion for non-North Koreans as if they are as advanced and up to date in the business and corporate world like all the other countries surrounding them

From what I've heard the only genre of popular music allowed in North Korea is called trot. Like foxtrot. This genre is also alive in South Korea, though just barely. Japan has a similar genre called Enka. It's been around for... roughly 70 years? It's changed a bit over time so difficult to say. Some say it's around 100 years old.

I find it interesting how they have a Chrysler Grand Voyager in the DPRK @ 4:56... I watched a video from a guy who went to North Korea, and they had the same vehicle there in the hotel lobby area (video was made in 2017 iirc?). Looks like the car is in a similar area too.
You can tell it is a Limited trim level as it has the chrome mirrors on it. Has to be a pre facelift one too, seeing as the boot of the car is of the 2008-2011 variety. Makes me wonder which maps it has on the MyGIG radio... Probably not the North Korea maps 😂
