Another beauty. Huge Case fan, so I am really diggin the counter top! So much sweetness.😍 It has been cold here in the mitten, hating it. Stay well Rick. 👍✌
Wow! That spline on the Whittler is true quality! You have truly amazing collection! It would seem, the long match strike on that main blade is really just for striking matches! 😹 I mean, from the size and the shape, it is a Cigar Whittler so you need that match sticker! Again truly an amazing piece.
You're on steam Rick! Another great whittler from Case. Quite a big main blade, very usable for a lot of cutting tasks. the coping and the pen blades are also a very nice size. Very nice high polished carbon steel and i'm not even mentioning the handlescale wooweeee. So overalls it's going to be, be sure to wear a suiting cap! Have a nice sunday buddy.
Really nice sleeve board whittler! You’ve been hitting home runs on those Case Classics. When I was in the hospital I lost about 30 lbs as well. I have had to tighten my belt a notch. I have gained some of the weight back and I am happy with where I am at, I don’t need to carry my old weight around. My grandpa used to wear coveralls and they had lots of pockets also.
That's a good idea about the overalls. My grandfather wore them all the time. I can't remember him wearing anything else, except his Sunday going to church clothes. Oh, I found one of those Sting knock offs on Ebay. The only thing was the sheath was trashed & that was my main interest in getting one. Oh well, I'll keep an eye out for them.
Yeah William, I'm going to give the overalls a try. The xtra pockets will be a plus, I always thought they were more of a pain with all the buttons & straps to fiddle with - we'll see.. LoL I'll keep an eye out for one of those knockoffs (with decent sheath) for you too brother ✌️-
An epic whittler! The only one I have seen at that size is a Marble's MR102, Bone Anglo Saxon Whittler Pocket Knife 1203 on eBay, nothing like the same quality and with a clip main and pen and spay secondaries. I am waiting for some magnets to arrive so that I can make a magnetic clip back pocket slip for a large 4 5/8" stockman I have, I don't think it is too big to carry at all. Thanks Rick for showing all of those Cases.
The train conductor actually ran the train and would probably have the best watch. He would oversee the train operations from the caboose. Maybe Stuart can give us insight into when trains finally allowed for the use of wrist watches. I believe it was sometime after WWII. Originally Railroad “Chronometers” in the US were required to be made in the US and only a few watch makers were approved. The bare minimum number of jewels was 17.
I bought a new waistcoat (vest for non-English speakers), so I can wear my watch for my daughter’s wedding next month. Incidentally I also bought some braces (suspenders, again for non-English speakers) as I have the same issues. Even my Kore gunbelt struggles to hold up my Medford On Belay! I do like big traditionals. Grandaddy Barlows, 5” toothpicks etc., but especially that Remington behemoth you got for me. Too big to carry really, but great fun. This doesn’t look to big to carry (in any sane country, obviously!)
So it's a no-go on the sweatpants and vest, huh?? LMFAO Overalls are a great idea. My uncle, who was like a second dad to me, wore overalls every single day. I can't recall ever seeing him in a regular pair of pants. lol And in the bib pocket he always had his trusty large Case sodbuster. This sleeveboard is one heck of a handsome knife. I like the size of it, it's not often that I see a whittler that large. And the cigar-shaped frame really catches my eye. Thanks for the great video, my friend!
Whittlers being one of my top three patterns I feel totally spoilt for choice of which knife you've shown would be my favourite carry.👍 The engineers overalls sounds a good choice for the pocket watch, the watch and overalls might give you flashbacks of the 20's/30's. If so see if you can buy Case knives at that era's prices 👌. Nice to hear you sound like your old self Rick atb Andy 👍
I was able to score one of these tonight(with the original box), a guy I buy from has had it for a while and we were able to meet at a very decent price. Hopefully I get a video up on it this weekend.
My son got me a nice Sleeveboard at SMKW but other Case dealers refer to them as Snowshoe Pattern BtW I found nice Bibs and USA made jeans at Round House Jeans in Oklahoma they are on the web
I have nothing but contempt for the czars of fashion and I prove it everytime I wear my cargo pants. S'funny, almost makes me feel like a punk rocker again. But I gotta warn you pilgrim, once you go bib overalls there's no going back.
Heard you talking about getting bib overalls Found USA made company Round House Jeans in Oklahoma that has really good bibs and jeans and really decent prices I have a pair of bibs and three pairs of jeans from them Just a FYI
Rick I have a Case Sleeveboard/Snowshoe depending upon who lists it from 2000 that I believe was a SFO from SMKW as one of 2500 It’s Grey Bone with a Big Spear and a Small Coping blade It also has the Saturn Shield Do you have anything like it? I’ve seen them in Red and Alligator but never in smooth grey Prayers for your health
That's a beautiful addition to your collection Rick. Praying for you Brother 🙏🙏🙏
Sweet looking split back Sleeveboard whittler. I love those covers. Cool blade choices on it.
