    It is a constant source of bewilderment as to why this band and also Bailterspace have not received the applause and credit they truly deserve.

      Usually no promotional budget from the label they would never have been main stream with too much of a post punk sound

      100% correct on both bands.

    This is such an underrated band. Fucking love them. This and Hard Light are still some of the best tunes to drink a decent beer to after a hard day.

    Saw them at the Birmingham Hummingbird in England opening for Throwing Muses in '89. They were great.

    A reunion would be amazing Robert. Other bands I see as being related to your style of wall of sound guitar rock are returning to much success. RIDE, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Dinosaur Jr. I can tell you without question that barring a deathly illness, I would be there if you played in Toronto. This music is still tremendous. Wishing you well.

      @Sometimescloudy They're selling out big clubs is what I mean. The big guitar sound is in vogue again and people are rediscovering these bands. I concur that Dino Jr are earsplitting live though. Never go front row. That's a mezzanine only gig.

    It was a real thrill to see them live at CBGB. The audience was just crushed. In a good way. It was a wall of sound. The musicians became like genderless maniacs. In every good sense of the words. Total guitar band, just washes over you. I loved listening to them on a Walkman 1 on my morning rides to NY on the subway. These are nice people, too. Totally worthy band, great artists. I got this recording for free from Poss, a prince of a man.

    Video really captures the vibrating hypnotic rocking thing down cold. Love this band. Why would one want to hear an acoustic of this. THis is ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Robert, I’m trying to figure out what year this video was released. In other words, is this the 1991 LP version, or “Now Is Now (Remix)” from the 1992 Now EP? I own both CDs, but don’t have them side by side to compare. And who directed it, and where was it shot?

    • @distortiontruthBOS-RP
      @distortiontruthBOS-RP  3 года назад +1

      This was for the 1991 LP version. (The remix sounds quite different). It was shot in New York City. I can't recall the director at the moment. He was a friend of Susan Stenger's The editing was very crude in those days....

  • @slobomotion

    Well, they did a nice EP with both an instrumental and a vocal version of "Paint It Black." Otherwise, you can't go wrong with "Veil." I knew them and saw them live one amazing night at CBGB. Terrific band.

    @JordanBurnichon Not true. MBV is great too. All music moves on and evolves. Music without influence and context is experimental industrial and I listened to it alot for 5years, then got bored of it. Acacdemic concepts without any reference or influence from other styles is hella boring.
    Im happy to trace influences from MBV back to BoS and JAMC and Spacemen3 and further back to Lou Reed and others. No one is original, so get off your high horse, and lets share and enjoy.
