Yes you can actually get the two crates from the second vault as long as you have the first code. This means you don't have to trick Hallie in and also get to kill that smiling lady. So once you got into the first vault, and unlock the door with the camera (via the HQ mainframe) and grab the level 21 shotgun. You can stand in front of the metal door (around 2~3 grids away) and aim your new shotgun to hit both of the crates. You can break both crates with around 25~30 shots. Please save before you do this so you can reload if the drops don't contain all the good items (e.g. Commander's Hat, Power Gauntlet, Knight Helmet, Power Armor Parts, the flamethrower, etc.) because breaking crates could damage the drops. And how to pick up the drops INSIDE the vault? Just drop something from your own inventory and pick it up, it should auto loot the drops inside the vault. This is the best outcome you could get for this quest!
@@ic2089 Describe what you have done please! I tried in two different playthroughs and worked every time. Once you get the shotgun from the commandant's room, you can use that shotgun and aim with the cone and shoot. Make sure your cone overlap (and highlight) the two crates!
@@madcowking yeah I did all that and broke the crates. However, when I went to use your looting method it did not work. I could only loot the item I dropped and not the stuff behind the door.
Are you playing the v1.4.1 with battle of steeltown? Maybe they patched it in this update. It works in v.1.3.3. Maybe you can try to walk closer to the door and loots and try drop/loot your stuff again. They might have imposed a pickup limit now. I will test it in future again when I update to v1.4.1.
@@madcowking yes I’m on the latest patch. I tried it from where I shot the gun and as close to the door as I could get. Neither worked so I’m assuming they patched it or I’m just doin something wrong
I added the +18% damage armour mod to it for massive boost to damage for my sniper. Did the same for helmets that give a bonus to hit. Now almost all my party has +18% damage bonus.
First play through went full good so missed these and Power Armor set on Cannibal camp. Kinda irritating that being good is punished but I guess it makes sense.
So is there really no other way of getting those codes? There was comments on apparently there is a quest giver that also has the codes but apparently might be towards the end of the game witch it sucks.
One of my biggest gripes with this game. It pretends to be an open ended RPG. Touting itself as a Fallout type game. YET, so much shit is flat out gated, locked out, and essentially corrals the player. You absolutely cannot bypass so many quests, items, or story lines with any skill checks, alternative paths, choices, or combat approaches. You are basically forced to to murder Hobo everything, and be a complete sack of violent shit if you want anything good. This quest is a prime example. You are punished for being good. There isn't even an alternative reward to off set not being god dammed slaver. Skills are pointless open world avoidance mechanics. They wanted it to feel like a hard choice, a-la old school RPG, but it isn't. It's just a shlog to grind money to buy vehicle armor to access new areas to murder hobo through.

Not a lot of videos out on this game so I appreciate it. I know there's the wiki but watching videos is a whole lot easier.
I'm glad you found the video useful! A ton more on the channel! 🖖

Happens a lot in this game lol

As far as I know no sorry 🖖

A few things can be bypassed but your right there is only one way to play the game really. But thank you for the comment! 🖖
You know you picked the wrong name when it sounds like your getting tongue twisted saying it 😂 good video though 👍
I've had practice since then 🤣
@@TheCriticallyClueless 😂😂 awesome
How do you already have that cool looking sniper?
I believe I got that out in the wasteland, far right side of the map. 🖖
