Just like an RTS. I loved it! I stopped playing carriers after they changed it. CV gameplay is not enjoyable for me anymore. It feels claustrophobic and restrictive now.

Like, they wanted submarines. OK, why not.. They already have advantage being underwater and are immune to torpedoes from ships because of the vertical axis maneuvering. So why give them guided torpedoes, unrealistic speed ? According the wiki, U-69's top surface speed was 17.7 knots and this looks like RC model turning in 20 knots. Dealing with them can be only imaginable in clans/ranked. On public, this will be slaughter, because players are not able cooperate on the more fundamental rules.
Actually you would be suprised to know they actually suck ingame so they can get one shotted by pretty much anything u have 2 know how to use them for them to be good
Very realistic to think that Subs and Carriers took over the waves, each has a weakness but both are truly Overpowered to their contemporaries of the time. They did adapt strategies to combat both but both types earned much respect and fear for good reason.

I play Silent Hunter and this is just laughable watching subs maneuver like this. Subs are slow. They are vulnerable. They take 1 to 4 minutes to submerge depending on the model. Torpedos take 5-15 minutes to reload. I can't even think of instances where submarines fought in surface ship/air battles, except for one almost destroying a Japanese carrier at Midway. When subs attacked warships, they usually targeted isolated vessels that were traveling to or from a larger fleet. They would be quite active immediately after surface battles, trying to pick off damaged ships heading back for repairs.

While I agree that the torps turn too fast I also understand their logic with the torps, subs only have their torps (even though I feel like the subs stealth more then makes up for it) so if the torps don’t have a aim helper they would have a higher skill level then they already do
@@3stackproc835 just give subs powerful torps with fast reload with no homing. basically make them a torp DD with more firepower but more skill is required in order to actually land your hits while having the benefit of more stealth
There were anti homing torpedo systems though, but that was in the cold war I'm pretty sure (and modern days of course) so unless WOWS can embrace a new era instead of staying on the same era they might get some progress done. It's world of warships after all, not world of ships where every ship is built before 1950 at least
Homing torp, they were called acustic torpedo they track sounds from large ship and go to that direction, was a thing for germans but realistically they need to stop using sonar once lunched cause their was an instants where the torpedo turned around and attacked them instead. Their max range is also 500m.

People crying about submarines but the best part is, world of warships player level increased after they added submarines, that's why it was taking a bit more time to matchmake because of so many people. Some people got problem in everything that's the sad part they keep crying in every change lol.

I uninstalled when submarines came out, reinstalled when they were temporarily pulled, and will uninstall again when they’re re-released. That ping mechanic is ridonkulously OP and these things are griefer paradise. Once you’re locked onto, there is no effective countermeasure. Give surface ships real working decoys, and all the DDs working sonar or at least hydroacoustic, with Hedgehog or ASROC, then things might be more equal.
Can you play rank with USS Nautilus? I saw it appear in Midway(2019) when it approached Hiryu carrier among Japanese fleet, I hope that you can play and review about this submarine more. Thank you very much.
To my knowledge the V boats aren’t in the game yet, they were an older design that was very large, slow, and not particularly maneuverable. They made up for it with large deck guns and plenty of range to act as scouts and deliver special troops

Hopefully they could do major damage to the force before they were able to push their attack on the island. This wasn’t really the case but it did help slow down and disorganize the Japanese a bit which later proved potent when the dive bombers arrived. US submarines repeatedly spotted Japanese ships as they headed for an AO such as the Yamato going toward Okinawa and the carrier Shinano which was promptly sunk not even 24 hours after leaving port
because subs were create to fight those ships. and thats why they created the deep chargues and sonars to make useless the subs. subs were usefull in the first day of war but when they make the antisub technology subs starting to kill less and less ships.

Everyone complaining about Subs, probably don’t have or aren’t providing it themselves, a proper destroyer screen…destroyer players are going to need to realize, their old role has been taken up by subs, carrier protection and screening for subs is the new destroyer meta imo.
They should have done a feature for the subs, where the Submarine must surface to recharge its batteries in order to fire again, that way when the battery is empty, it would be forced to surface, allowing players to shoot these things down
In reality when the Type VII subs needed to recharge its batteries they just need to go to periscope depth because they had Snort masts to hide their profile

I don't see how subs are much better than CVs. When destroyers torpedo, you actually _can_ "just dodge" and the DD itself puts itself at significant risk to get close enough, with limited escape options that can all be countered by the right consumables or skillful play. Subs have a much higher margin of safety considering most ships that aren't DDs have extremely limited options for engaging them, and their torpedoes home in. Most of the time it's already too late to dodge if you clear the ping as soon as the torpedoes show up, and if you clear too early you've wasted a 30sec+ cooldown while the sub can just keep pinging away ad infinitum. Not exactly rewarding of skillful play, is it?
Subs can't attack cv's. Subs can't attack while diving. Subs lose their damage if the torps doesn't have two pings. Etc. There's a lot more to it than what's shown in this video.
@@virusproofficial1086 subs can only send out torps while at the surface or at operational depth. When they dive, so that you can't attack them back, they can't send out torps.

It's a lot harder and the hydrophone consumable can help to getting an idea of where to ping, but you have to keep depth in mind since the torps still need to rise to the correct depth, so can't be too close.. While preferable to torp at operational, if you're skilled enough you can torp from maximum.
@@pak3ton Its more alone the lines that only around half of the ships in game have ASW weaponry to attempt to counter subs. So it basically leaves anyone without SOL in trying to fight a class that's completely immune to damage from gunfire when submerged enough
Ranked these days is boring but not because of the concept of uboats and that they are somehow op. Uboats are quite balanced so far, I'm pretty happy of wg work on them. It's the teams that feel award! Despite the fact that ranked is still ranked and you get to play with good teams 5 times in a row and the rest is bull crap, even decent players don't know or want to adopt to the new battle environment. That's the issue. And last but not list you almost certainly get to have the trolls that yolo like no tomorrow and grand mediocre guys like this one 5 kills out of nowhere.
This is boring as hell. But fits my own experience. This subs is a class I’ll definitely won’t touch again. Whoever’s fun with that- congratulations you can keep it for yourself 😉
Subs are not easy like someone are talking about. Most of times you are sunk easily, but wait the same cry babies who ruined CVs (including some CCs) see that video.
Subs in the game have elevated it from armored checkers matches to more like Chess. Lots more skill and planning an attack than just turning and shooting.

Subs are only in Ranked and Co Op, not Randoms. You can get a sub through free random bundles in the armory.

Most of the time it's already too late to dodge if you clear the ping as soon as the torpedoes show up, and if you clear too early you've wasted a 30sec+ cooldown while the sub can just keep pinging away ad infinitum. Not exactly rewarding of skillful play, is it?
Subs can't attack cv's.
Subs can't attack while diving.
Subs lose their damage if the torps doesn't have two pings.
Etc.
There's a lot more to it than what's shown in this video.

When they dive, so that you can't attack them back, they can't send out torps.
@@larsisaksen You can torp while in maximum depth. It's a lot harder and the hydrophone consumable can help to getting an idea of where to ping, but you have to keep depth in mind since the torps still need to rise to the correct depth, so can't be too close.. While preferable to torp at operational, if you're skilled enough you can torp from maximum.

Its more alone the lines that only around half of the ships in game have ASW weaponry to attempt to counter subs. So it basically leaves anyone without SOL in trying to fight a class that's completely immune to damage from gunfire when submerged enough

Ranked these days is boring but not because of the concept of uboats and that they are somehow op. Uboats are quite balanced so far, I'm pretty happy of wg work on them. It's the teams that feel award! Despite the fact that ranked is still ranked and you get to play with good teams 5 times in a row and the rest is bull crap, even decent players don't know or want to adopt to the new battle environment. That's the issue. And last but not list you almost certainly get to have the trolls that yolo like no tomorrow and grand mediocre guys like this one 5 kills out of nowhere.
This is boring as hell. But fits my own experience. This subs is a class I’ll definitely won’t touch again. Whoever’s fun with that- congratulations you can keep it for yourself 😉

Subs are not easy like someone are talking about. Most of times you are sunk easily, but wait the same cry babies who ruined CVs (including some CCs) see that video.
CVs are really easy
Subs in the game have elevated it from armored checkers matches to more like Chess. Lots more skill and planning an attack than just turning and shooting.
