so cluster is set of hosts/nodes with one special one that meant to be only for logon node to connect to outside. I've figure it out that the meaning of cluster is different from place to place or it depends also on the platform for example Hadoop and cassandra . The main thing here is software. You can have all the best hardware in the world all strapped together but without a good DRM/Sheduler/whatever it can be called, it's worthless.
