Intelligent people are generally secure enough that they don't worry about outward signs of intelligence. People of exceptional intelligence are generally too busy thinking on too many levels to care much about someone telling them they have signs of intelligence. in short, Intelligence is self-assured as well as self-evident and requires no excessive external reinforcement as validation.
I get most of these but I find myself falling in between on the one about getting stuck in the past. It’s like I can move on from things but I don’t forget. And I really understand the part about being messy, it’s being mentally organized vs being physically organized.

There´s a world of difference between being smart and being WISE... There´s a world of difference between being intelligent, or being smart or being WISE.
I love this video. It actually also describes many traits of an INFJ, who are known to be lovers of information and therefore tend to be very intelligent. Everything named here describes exactly how we function and live our lives as well as our inner thinking. I agree with this video 100%. Thank you for sharing!
I feel this was very accurate with me and even more so for my husband. My husband is the first guy I’ve been with that I believe is more intelligent than me. I’m very curious what his IQ could be but those common IQ test I feel are flawed they don’t test for all areas of intelligence.
That's just inaccurate, a wise man knows that he knows more than JUST that, ffs. A wise man would know that he knows how to drink water, otherwise, how can a wise man be alive long enough to do wise things? :P
A wise man knows what he know what he doesn't knows or what he knows what he doesn't know or what he knows or doesn't or what he knows or doesn't know or what he knows or does know or what he knows or doesn't knows or what he knows or doesn't knows or what he knows or doesn't knows or what he knows or doesn't knows or what he knows or doesn't knows or what he knows or doesn't tknows or what he knows or doesn't knows or what he knows or doesn't knows or what he know s or what he doesn't knows
In my opinion, this is just another of those videos starting with: the latest researches have shown (insert amazing things), which are some years or even months later proven wrong. And this is why I don't like this kind of videos: it sticks to your brain whether it is true or not and every time you will look at a person who loves dogs you will think they are less intelligent. I think this is just a lot of biased information.
The reason why the narrator said cat people are usually more intelligent is because they're more likely to be introverts. I am a dog person, but am still introverted.
FACT: being left handed doesn't have to indicate you're smart. For a long time, people believed that your dominant hand has something to do with intelligence. A 2015 study conducted iq tests for people who were left and right handed. They found no difference in their intelligence, however both sides of the team did well overall.
If you asked a bunch of people if they have these traits, they would almost all say yes; because the human mind has very powerful cognitive biases which make it difficult to see their real selves, look up the "above average" effect. This video was designed to make people feel better about themselves and think that they're smart, even though they are no more special than the common joe.
Lord Nekomimi Not really I was positive in all and I have no problems A friend of mine who thinks she is smart, is negative in all, yet her life is unhappy and bitter There must be a correlation with the happiness or satisfaction of our existence and our thinking We create our living with our predispositions
The video was merely discussing the traits of intelligence or intelligences, plural. There are all sorts of theories of intelligence but three are at the basis of this video: Sternberg's, Gardner's and Spearman's. This video takes a lot of their accepted theoretical traits and expands upon them. As an intelligeent person, I found them to be mainly true, even if I did lack in certain areas! I mean, we're human and imperfect, so no biggie to admit we make mistakes! The video actually said that! But it's been known for eons that some people are most definitely more intelligent than others! It doesn't matter if we're speaking of general intelligence or of specific intelligences, or we define them as analytical, practical and creative intelligences or maybe interpersonal intelligence (“people smart”) or intrapersonal intelligence (“self smart”). The fact is not everyone IS intelligent even if they'd like to think so. That, as my grandfather would say, is what you get for thinking! lololol

I prefer cats. I adapt easily. I can tell if someone’s telling the truth. I’m kind of self sufficient? I’m busy with hobby’s, I draw, read and stuff. I’m extremely messy, my room looks like a bomb hit it. I don’t lie to myself, but I try, a lot, but it doesn’t work. I’m emotional a lot, but I just put my hair over my face, and give myself a couple seconds, then get out there. I panic a lot, but I forget what I panic about, and then list what ima do so I stop panicking. I can’t get out of bed, I set an alarm 40 mins before I wanted to get up so I get to be lazy. I don’t focus on what’s happened, unless it hit a string. I make a lot of mistakes, I don’t really learn from them though, as I’m lazy and forget what to do as I rush around. I don’t think I’m smart Meh. Dosent matter. Thanks if you got this far 😊
Ok this list says that being messy is a sign of intelligence yet it also says making a list and there for being organized is intelligent so that's just counter intuitive
I do both of these things. Highly organised and plan my day thoroughly but have a messy bedroom. I also prefer dogs to cats but have the personality of a cat person.
Evan566 actually you understood that wrong. When it said that people are messy, it said to them it’s an organised mess, and they get annoyed when someone try’s to move stuff around. So technically with the mess they are still being organised, but in their own unique way. (I do this, and every time I tidy I loose a hairbrush or my glasses or something important 😂)
Not necessarily, because having a neat looking house is less important than planning in some other aspects of life. Smart people prioritize what's important
Nice way of classifying a certain personality type. I do think you might need to better define intelligence though. It seems to me that many of the traits listed in the video are signs of wisdom not intelligence. You might want to do a video on the difference between knowledge and wisdom, it would help to clarify your definition of intelligence.
Pardon me, but I forgot one of the major characteristics of geniuses. It's that they're easily able to watch, read, and listen to views that are opposite others, and this they often do. I've asked the three geniuses I've known about that, and they've each told me independently of the others, that knowing and understanding opinions opposite to theirs helps them hone their own views by seeing where they need strengthening or changing (to one degree or the other.) Now, would it not be nice if every human had that view of the world? I have several friends and acquaintances who watch or listen only to the news from CNN, MSNBC, NBC, NYT, PBS, NPR, and WAPO. Every other news outlet else is absolutely wrong, even though they've never personally heard a word of what they're saying. Believe me when I tell you, they're certainly not close to the genius category, or even the smart category. They do have some redeeming qualities, and are still my friends, however.
I agree, you would find that people adopt the views that easily fit their lifestyle, which is why they don't watch opposing views. They may fear that logic can destroy their habitual nature, therefore ridding them of their safe spaces and threatening their comfort zone. So they demonize the opposite side and cower away from its voice. Those are not just far from smart, they surrender to delusion for the sake of personal pleasure and comfort. That makes them fools in every sense of the word, and they represent a huge portion of humanity. Many of them can be well-spoken and even intelligent, but they are not wise! Merely intelligent people can be dangerous, because people listen to them and follow them, yet they may be blind and lead masses down the cliff. Wise people on the other hand, are also well-spoken, they may not pass tests with flying colors, but when they open their mouths, they fill the gaps where intelligence fails. Those tend to lead people to their destination.
"The biggest fools are those who wish for smartness believing it to be all gain with no pain and most smart are the ones who know the price of smartness but master to balance it with foolishness."..Basharat Ali "the art of knowing is knowing wht to ignore."....Rumi "sell your smartness and buy bewildrement because smartness is mere 'doubt' and bewlidrement is vision."...Rumi
You know, I don't agree with some aspects of this video because being intelligent in one area does not mean you're intelligent in another. For example, letting the past go after a quick analysis of what happened could mean that the individual has a higher level of emotional intelligence; however, they may not be very intellectual. The video is excluding trauma and genetics (many intelligent people, i.e. Mozart and Beethoven) did not have a lot of common sense. Mozart was a gambler and died a pauper. Beethoven would easily fall involve with his piano students and experience physical abuse as a child. Additionally, those with ADHD are known to be "on-the-go" and fidgeting. Nevertheless, many of them are particularly intelligent. Oh, and they can be quite messy. Please consider revising this video prior to posting something like this one. Still, thank you for your opinion.
i agree with you but this is not meant to be Wikipedia. it is just you tube and is entertainment. but to be totally honest, look at the types of races that keep looking a the past. then look at their average intelligence. i am being realistic, not racist. the Chinese and Japanese are a good example. They were at war for 1000s of years. fighting over who hit who first. 60 years ago they stopped fighting each other and looked forward to world domination. on average they are smarter than any european nation.
sploofmonkey , a university degree only means a person is good at memorizing and spouting back what that particular institution requires. It doesn't really have much to do with intelligence. Especially since the courses are usually designed around the average I.Q. ( I have a minor degree in mechanical design, btw. Got it in 18 months rather than the usual 2 years. )
I think there are common denominators for intelligence and I believe many of them are listed in this video. Beethoven was an amazing composer, so was Mozart, but even though they had great intelligence in one area and failed in other areas, that does not disprove any of the statements in this video. People... All people, are a mixture of that which works and that which doesn't. There is a reason music went well for Mozart while retirement planning did not. That does not make an overly risky attitude towards finances smarter. It only goes to show that he applied effective principals of intelligence in his music and not in finances.
I have never felt really smart - I came from a family of high achievers. Both my Mom and my older brother, could read a book and take a test and were straight "A" students. They say my Mom should have been Valedictorian however, she was awarded Salutatorian. On the other hand my older brother was Valedictorian and Star Student, the first ever from his high school to obtain both honors. He earned a full scholarship to Georgia Tech and was at Georgia Tech during the Vietnam War. So to avoid the military he kept changing his major, by the time he graduated he was an electrical, chemical, mechanical and industrial engineer. Was hired as an executive at Georgia Power - and after 18 years was fired for embezzling company assets for his personal use. I always thought he would have been some great inventor - but he never invented anything. Just a thief and often stole my stuff - through the guise of borrowing - but would never return my things and I could never find or locate my stuff. I was a lot like my father - somewhat functional illiterate - problems in school - difficulty in spelling. So to say I was sort of the family black sheep. I learned years later - in one of my mothers attempts to have me committed as a difficult juvenile - turns out I was tested for IQ several times and turned out I had a higher IQ than my brother - only by a few points - this outraged my mother - she could not believe that I had a higher IQ. Anyway, I was good at drawing and went to Art School and did very well - won a number of painting, watercolor and photography awards and was internationally published three times. Then at some point I earned more income than my brother one year - and this too set off some outrage - my brother declared at one gathering that someone with a basket weaving degree should not be allowed to earn more than someone with an engineering degree - to which I told him in the Capitalist economy - common since is rewarded over academic achievement - rather based upon work done and not thing stolen from employers. To which I explained to him that if I ever had a job earning $165K a year - there is NO WAY - I would ever steal from my employer - to say the least I have never earned a lot - and even then I would not steal from my employers - nor even borrow from them without returning anything borrowed. So I have invented several items - a ceiling tile that cleans the air and puts out building fires, a pool toy that combines a surf board, peddles and paddle wheel, and kitchen drawer that keeps bugs out of the silver wear and locks to keep kids from having access to sharp utensils. So I tend to think of myself as having some sort of comfort zone with common since - but as for academic matters - I've become comfortable with not giving a dang for such endeavors - not good at it any way - so why put energy and effort into something I am not good at. I would rather work in my workshop, draw and paint in my studio, and enjoy my digital camera and Photoshop. As for smart - I'm more of a survivor - and I am puzzled as to why we don't have a National Health Care Lottery - to provide FREE health care for every citizen in our nation. Thanks for reviewing the insanity - if anyone can guide me in the right direction please freely give me your advice. Maybe I'm not as smart in so much as I am a bit of a smart aleck. Is that a word? spell check does not like it - but dang it is a noun with a definition. Oh well - I really could care less as long as someone gets the point.
James Dickens: That was a very entertaining story. I liked it. Especially when it turned out your IQ was a little higher. You sound humble, too. Peace 💗
Most often humans are either people smart (very rare) or book smart (common). You rarely find someone who is both. A true intellect (a genius), however, must be someone who can do anything with his brain, from music to writing, from math and arithmetic to being able to analyze people and situations, to understanding their own limitations; and for true intellects that's figuring out what they're least good at doing. They don't need much education; they're observant, they read and listen, and they mostly educate themselves. Which is easy for them, and that's why they're always doing it, and they never stop. You have a lot of people who are intellects in one field, but that's it. Geniuses in one field are often disasters in everything else.
Lily: Thank you, my friend. But I'm sorry to say it is not so. When I compare myself to the three people I tag as geniuses, I fall so far behind them it's embarrassing. However, I am smart enough to use their genius to help myself and others. They have original ideas. I have little of anything other than the ability to tag along, though I do reciprocate in helping them as much as I can. I see things I don't see, in people and in the world. I love knowing them and being able to call them my friends. Be well, Lilly B.
I dont really need excuses for a messy desk because my parents already know I'm really smart...but they still make my clean up my messy desk and room...
There aren't limits - you can be a good human/person and be intelligent at the same time and even more - like loving, compassionate, caring, empathetic, etc. Be all you can be everyday!

I"m a firm believer in the 2:1 ratio of cats to humans. If there aren't 7 people living in your household I would agree. Crazy cat lady. Kidding...mostly.
You know you have exceptional intelligence when you did not watch this video about exceptional intelligence because you already know you have exceptional intelligence and do not hope to find any traits of exceptional intelligence by watching a video about exceptional intelligence just to make you feel like you have exceptional intelligence
My mother was the smartest person I ever met. She could make money out of nothing. She was indeed very messy and always had her hands into multiple projects at once. It was not uncommon for me to come home from school to find her painting the walls yet a different color or having the couch and chairs ripped apart teaching herself how to upholster furniture. A mother of seven, she took my father's weekly paycheck and parlayed it into a real estate empire before it was fashionable to flip houses. Her natural negotiation skills were incredibly successful. She could sell you your own shoes. She would buy these dilapidated old duplexes, and my father would fix them up. Not only was he very knowledgeable about what needed to be done, but he had an innate sense of beauty and design and made them look beautiful. Mom would then rent them out. At one point, she had a dozen or so of these duplexes plus a couple of farms. It was the 1950s; she had taught herself how to do this. Her lack of fear and willingness to try new things were her strongest personality traits. If her ideas didn't work, they didn't work, like the time we found she had purchased a huge vertical freezer (which cost a fortune to run) loaded with hundreds of dollars of, what turned out to be, "old meat." Without any drama, she would learn from her mistakes and just "move on." She taught herself how to grow the money she was making through investing it and how do her own accounting and taxes because, let's face it, she was cheap. She had become one of the first "millionaires next door." (P.S. she may have had undiagnosed ADHD.)
LOL, I am making my to do list (for tomorrow) as I am watching/listening to this video. My cat is sleeping in his tiny round bed & I was thinking of the messy dishes in the kitchen sink, I HAVE TO clean as well as the bags of clean clothes at the bottom of my closet that I HAVE TO put away.
Omg... I JUST REALISED THATS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DO THAT SO MUCH!! i am messy, (rn theres lots of stuff near me,) im lonley, (by that i mean i dont have a girlfriend, but i dont need one :) ) unlike my less smarter friends who DO have girl friends. I spend lots of times watching space/these type of videos, This is all me! (edit) oh yeah and i love cats :)
Finger "ration"?? "Ratio" makes more sense in this usage. By the way I'm a writer and editor, and passed many mathematics courses through 2 years of college engineering (including calculus and statistics courses) before switching majors. Those courses didn't refer to "rations," except perhaps in a fee story problems, but did involve ratios and rational numbers. A smart video maker would know the difference between "ration" and "ratio." Perhaps it was from a study done by non-native English speakers because in American English, ration refers to a portion of a whole that is given out, such as food rations in the army. Ratio refers to a difference divided by the whole amount.
Tim McShane You only need 4th grade math to understand ratios. And you could have been much more concise and still got your point across. Some mathematician and editor!
I've had non-native teachers refer to ratio as "ration", pronounced RAY-shee-on. I think it's just butchered English that's been colloquialized. I thought I was going crazy after watching this video, but I found a few RUclips math videos that also pronounced it the same way by non-native speakers. I'm so curious to see what their source was!
Its saying if you prefer one over the other as a pet... Not whether or not you like one over the other. I love all animals but would much rather have a cat.
HAVING the pet in question isn't relevant, bro. Your preference is what matters, are you a cat person or a dog person? I like dogs, but i prefer cats... I don't have either of them though, too much responsibility, i'm too lazy to bother with it. xD
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! Its EXACTLY meee!!!Its explains EVRYTHING!! And now i know the question for whay i am the only one thet anderstend and see what other dont... THANKS YOU!!!!!
Every one of these is me. I particularly like the bit about being messy and hating others come in and tidy up for you. Yes, we do have more important things to do. I tidy up only when the degree of mess begins to interfere with my achievement of more important things and I limit time and energy I waste on such trivial activity. And I hate external help with tidying up because, despite Apparent chaos to outsiders, the mess has a secret order I created and I know what that order is. The last thing I need is some control, order and neatness freak stepping in and seeking to impose their order eg by tidying ip, cleaning, discarding things etc. Thereby messing up my own order. That is why I Would feel an overwhelming desire to completely liquidate some of those typical decluttering consultants one sees ads for, who offer to come into your home ie invade your private space and start cleaning up ie mucking up my own perfectly functioning system and order, where I know exactly what I have, where it is located and can access it at my fingertips, as needed. I'm creative. Surely you don't expect me to be neat and orderly, too. How unreasonable!
Do you have anything to add? :)

I think I'm smart, but I wanted reassurance. This video basically describes so many other people that I find commonly. I'm probably not smart.
Then I must be the stupidest person on the planet
Understandable
I get most of these but I find myself falling in between on the one about getting stuck in the past. It’s like I can move on from things but I don’t forget. And I really understand the part about being messy, it’s being mentally organized vs being physically organized.
That's correct.
If you take all the things said here with a grain of salt, then you will be better off.
Not all highly intelligent individuals are the same.

There´s a world of difference between being intelligent, or being smart or being WISE.
There is none idiots thts actually wise.. bcs they idiots
Mpls Erin Truth!
I love this video. It actually also describes many traits of an INFJ, who are known to be lovers of information and therefore tend to be very intelligent. Everything named here describes exactly how we function and live our lives as well as our inner thinking. I agree with this video 100%. Thank you for sharing!
Intp are the true lovers, arguably addicts of info.
I feel this was very accurate with me and even more so for my husband. My husband is the first guy I’ve been with that I believe is more intelligent than me. I’m very curious what his IQ could be but those common IQ test I feel are flawed they don’t test for all areas of intelligence.
A WISE MAN KNOWS ONLY THAT HE KNOWS NOTHING.
That's just inaccurate, a wise man knows that he knows more than JUST that, ffs.
A wise man would know that he knows how to drink water, otherwise, how can a wise man be alive long enough to do wise things? :P

Smart people know the difference between "ratio" and "ration", lol.
Thank you!
Hahahaha
smart people are not detail oriented ...like using the right word?
Nxialist I can’t believe the amount of folk who haven’t said anything about that in the comments and are still claiming to be intelligent. Lol.
Knowledgeable people know the difference. That doesn't make them intelligent.
Quick Fix I think this is just your excuse because you like dogs and this info is bs but you seem annoyed still
I’m inclined to agree with you, RigidChicken.
The reason why the narrator said cat people are usually more intelligent is because they're more likely to be introverts. I am a dog person, but am still introverted.
Good point Megasupreme
yes that is totally correct. I dont even know why i WATCH these
'Finger ration' ? Well, I didn't know that fingers were rationed ! Do you by any chance mean 'finger ratio' ?
Sorry, of course fingers are rationed ! How could I be so wrong ? Most of us are rationed to only having eight fingers and two thumbs each.
Quite irRation'al
bacon froyo yes
Finger ration is only using one finger for the sweet itch, and not all the finger at once. :)
Came here to say this! The idiot goes on about knowing what "ration" means when clearly he has no clue!
Lord Nekomimi
Not really

A friend of mine who thinks she is smart, is negative in all, yet her life is unhappy and bitter
There must be a correlation with the happiness or satisfaction of our existence and our thinking
We create our living with our predispositions
Okay let us think we are smart
That, as my grandfather would say, is what you get for thinking! lololol

I gotta say that its possible to be both, strong AND smart!
No!!! you have to choose one. the door dont swing both ways.
that is true
So true
I don’t think I’m smart
Meh. Dosent matter. Thanks if you got this far 😊
It honestly depends on the person, everyone does have a different perspective, which causes them to function in their mind the way that they do.
Bright Side: "If you own a cat your are likely to be intelligent"
Toxoplasma Gondii: It is true - get a cat! (soon I will dominate the world)!
Evan566 d
Evan566 actually you understood that wrong. When it said that people are messy, it said to them it’s an organised mess, and they get annoyed when someone try’s to move stuff around. So technically with the mess they are still being organised, but in their own unique way. (I do this, and every time I tidy I loose a hairbrush or my glasses or something important 😂)
Evan566 awww.did somebody get put on the spot
Not necessarily, because having a neat looking house is less important than planning in some other aspects of life. Smart people prioritize what's important
Nice way of classifying a certain personality type. I do think you might need to better define intelligence though. It seems to me that many of the traits listed in the video are signs of wisdom not intelligence. You might want to do a video on the difference between knowledge and wisdom, it would help to clarify your definition of intelligence.
You know if you angle your fingers the right way...

Pardon me, but I forgot one of the major characteristics of geniuses. It's that they're easily able to watch, read, and listen to views that are opposite others, and this they often do. I've asked the three geniuses I've known about that, and they've each told me independently of the others, that knowing and understanding opinions opposite to theirs helps them hone their own views by seeing where they need strengthening or changing (to one degree or the other.)
Now, would it not be nice if every human had that view of the world?

Still, thank you for your opinion.
bacon froyo
That an emotional intelligence is BS
I think it's mostly just generalised trivia for wasting a few minutes....
i agree with you but this is not meant to be Wikipedia. it is just you tube and is entertainment. but to be totally honest, look at the types of races that keep looking a the past. then look at their average intelligence. i am being realistic, not racist. the Chinese and Japanese are a good example.

Basically whenever Im getting ready for school I dont brush my hair, my parents tell me to, but I think Its a waste of time.
Same, if you don't care about what other people think what's the point?
I don’t brush my hair because it’s just not cool. I don’t want to look like a nerd; a messy/ tidy hair looks good.
I dont brush my teeth instead lol coz brushing takes about 1 min and it cost time
I have never felt really smart - I came from a family of high achievers.
James Dickens Just be you and dont worry about what anybody else thinks. It works for me. I could have wrote most what you wrote myself.
Thanks - yep I agree...
James Dickens: That was a very entertaining story. I liked it. Especially when it turned out your IQ was a little higher. You sound humble, too. Peace 💗
1:15 But what about the people who love those cats...
Lilly bloom your a frikin’ genius!

Was it supposed to be a ring finger length/index finger length? or ring finger length minus index finger length cause the graphic shows otherwise.

IQ tests show what you have learned, but can't predict what you will do with what you have learned
IQ. Tests have nothing to do with what you have been taught!!!Kevin
Um, I gave very long fingers. Is it good that my index finger is longer than the ring finger?
I agree with the cat opinion lol
Learning from other people's mistakes is wisdom, not intelligence. Then the ability to apply what you've learned is another entire skillset.
My cat, my fingers and my messy room shows that I'm smart 😀
Maybe 😊
Smart people are usually quiet because they are constantly thinking!!! And they also like dogs!!

A smart video maker would know the difference between "ration" and "ratio."
Perhaps it was from a study done by non-native English speakers because in American English, ration refers to a portion of a whole that is given out, such as food rations in the army.

Ok, what about NOT having cat nor dog? I can have more time for myself...I'm genius!

Your preference is what matters, are you a cat person or a dog person? I like dogs, but i prefer cats... I don't have either of them though, too much responsibility, i'm too lazy to bother with it. xD
"Smart people adapt." The older you get, the less willing to adapt, one becomes.
I would say the older you get, the less open to toleration you become - that's why it's more easy to turn away than to adapt
@@irmgardstaebler9924 I wouldn't use the word "toleration"; I'd use "change". We do get "set in our ways". Nothing wrong with that.

This makes me feel sleepy
