Great talk! I had to learn the hard way that exercise will not contain mania, I was convinced for years that if I ran 4 miles every single day I could keep my brain in check and if I walked 9 miles a day when I'm blah I would chase away the depression. Invariably, the psychiatrist asks, "How long have you been running?". 😂 After a nearly constant 5 month bombardment of manic symptoms, with 2 crashes and a 9 day stretch of a normal brain but constant irritability, I fully embraced lithium and I have never been so stable for so long. Who would have thought I was a consistent and disciplined human being. Being mindful of my diet, consistent exercise, lithium and living a very structured/rhythmic life is life changing. Wish I would have stopped fighting against my meds years ago.
Great video, as per usual... I can completely relate to the inappropriate behaviour, especially over the past few years, hopefully those who know me, can understand a lot of what I've done was sometimes out with my immediate control. I'm not excusing this behaviour, but letting people know that it's been a difficult journey 😸✌️❤️
I'm totally sold on this channel I've lived with bipolar 1 for 20+ years....so much said is so true for me....learning and reaffirming....great stuff,I'm hooked
The doctor's suggestion of having two phones is a great idea. A dummy phone that does not connect to the internet would be the best, would cut down on all the late night random texts.

Meds are not “perfectly effective” ever. I like the optimism but anyone who has any experience in this knows this rings hollow.
