April 15th 2010, was at a Red Army Choir concert this afternoon in Reims (France), simply wonderful amazing performance ! My 2 kopek. Bibopelulatovitch
What ewer, doesn´t mather what or where!! The music is all! Thaks of these best of Russian Red Army Choir sings! Toppen på Svenska ja komiata suomeksi =)
No matter where they come from, no matter which political system they use, music is good, and these singers are among the best in the world since years. I dig Red Army Choir since the 60's with famous Boris Alessandrov leading, and I'm surely not communist, nor socialist or even capitalist, just trying to be free from others ideology. My two cents.
A tribute to the genius and bravery of one man - the truly noble Stalin. I and countless others are alive today because of this great hero. All praise to the decent and humble soldier who saved us. Our Stalin!
The title in russian is "В Путь" which means "On the road" (literally) but in english the best meanning is "In march". I heard also this music in the end of the film "Maxim Perepelitsa" which is an old russian film about WWII.
I don't care about what kind of ideology we've fighting over. As long as this song inspires me and my people to do our duty for the betterment of our beloved nation.
@MaoiMeowi2 Then what are we going back and forth about? I agree, I just was making a point that saying all the glory belonged to the common people, the common soldier, and not to the commanders and leaders was stupid. Both are critical to a war effort..
I'm not sure what you're asking... I was joking about enlisting. The idea was that it seemed like a good idea, but then I remembered that when you join the army, people might be shooting at you and stuff. That's all I meant, not that I actually did enlist or had people shooting at me. Sorry for any confusion.
Kazhdyi voin - paren' bravyi, Smotrit sokolom v stroiu. Porodni... rodnilis' my so slavoi, Slavu dobyli v boiu. I teper dlya nas nastali dni uchyoby i truda Tak s toboy nas vospitali Nashi syola goroda
Excuse me if I don't translate this correctly. On our way We have a long way to go with you Happy, the soldiers are, look! We go, we go, on the command's call Commanders lead us to the front. Chorus Soldiers, on our way, on our way, on our way! And for you, country girl There is the field mail Farewell, the duty calls Soldiers, we are on our way!!
@MaoiMeowi2 I consider leaders of the USSR to be some Generals and commanders. Generals in the USSR held pretty vast political power... Regardless, the praise to just the people is stupid. That was the point I was making. You need leaders.
tavarish sverdlov:) do you have the russian lyrics as well? If you do, please post! I've been looking for the russian lyrics, I couldn't find yet. It doesn't matter if its in cyrillic or transliterated.
Not tovaris Sverdlov but I will answer you. Here is the lyrics
The Japanese lacked equipment, and there were 500,000 JAPANESE there, and 200,000 Manchurians. They weren't useless trainees like you say. Anyway, the reason of the Soviet sucsess = Soviet men were extremely well trained and well equipped, lots of tanks and artillery and very good generals. The Japanese couldn't resist such a mechanized force.
Put dalyok u nas taboyoo, Vyeselei saldat glidi. Vyotsa, vyotsa znamya palkavoye, Kamandeeri vpyeryedi, chorus: Saldati v put, v put, v put, A dlya teebya radnaya, Yest poshta polyevaya. Prashay truba Zavyot, Saldati v pahod. (Just know by memory the first part though...)

It's a funny remark, I laughed at your humor....but no! in a choir there are different voices....who sing different of each other...and some don't even sing in some songs, where is no need for them...or when the volume of that voice doesn't need to be so high, only a few members of that voice sing....so be sure nobody took them there for...."modelling".....this choir is one of the greatest in music history...
Yes, but these troops were good enough to hold of the Chinese. Anyway... This concert took place in Jerusalem in 1992 and the conductor is Igor Agafonnikov, a former Bolshoi choir conductor.
Best greetings from France!

Wonderful music and great voices!!!

I love this song so much, stirs so much emotion. Magic!
these pieces are really beautiful when there are certain measures of smooth legato mixed within the march itself
Great song of The Red Army!
i especially love the hip on the background around 2:13. it can be heard clearly in non-live version.
This song was written in 1954 for the movie "Maxim Perepelitsa".

this song is from movie Maxim Perepetlitsa, it was made in 1955, after this it was used as march of the soviet army. :)

@MaoiMeowi2 Umm, that still doesn't explain how the leaders played no role in the victory.
Excuse me if I don't translate this correctly.

Happy, the soldiers are, look!
