I had the good luck and the pleasure of seeing the Red Army Choir performing in Edmonton ,Alberta ,Canada just before the dissolution of the USSR. It was magnificent ! and they sang also in Spanish. The voice of the lead singer was wonderful and powerful.
Oh my God the emotions, the POWER! Amazing, I can not find the words to express the feeling while listening. Russia wait for me, someday I'll see Saint Petersburg :(

Simply beautiful song.....! Dark Eyes..,,! Gorgeous, just like the land it comes from, every province distinct, colorful (St Petersburg is like Paris, but in reds, greens, yellows, blues......), historic, melodic, harmonic, glorious, tragic and most importantly, soulful. It is like morphine for one's ears and soul, if I may be so bold.
Once they used to tour all around the Europe. They should start again. People would rush to see them. It is a great tradition. This song is beautiful, right from the abyss of wide Slavic soul.

yes this choir still exists it is called officially the Alexandrov Ensemble my grandfather was a part of it back in the 50's there last show show was in prague i think
