One of the most beautyful songs ever made.
And I have to say that as a german canadian.
    Full of Soul and Substance.
    A Masterpeace of Humanity.

    In a frontline forest
A yellow light is falling of the briches silently An accordionist is playing the old time Walz "Atum Dream" Bass sights, as it complaining, And the Soldiers, my comarades, sit and listen if in oblivion. In previous springs we whirled to the Strains of this walz. On oure native shore we loved our Girlfriends. To the strains of this walz. We caught the light of their dear eyes to the strain of this walz. We whirled being far from our girlfriends, To the strains of this walz. And now it soundet again in the front line forest, And everybody listen and thought of his darling, Remebering, that Spring, And everybody know that the road to her passed through the war.
Let the light and joz of the previous meetings, Shine us at the difficult time. And if we have to die, Well, this is only once. But let even death in fire and Smoke not fear the Soldier, and let everybody do all he can For the victory. So my Frends, since its oure Turn, Let the steel be Strong! Let our hart s not miss a beat and hands not tremble. Its oure Turn. Its about Time comon, my frends! Let s go! To fight for all that we lived for yesterday and for all that we are waiting for tomorow.
A yellow light leaf its falling of the britches silently, An accordionist is playing The old time walz " Atum Dream" Bass sight as is complaining, and the soldiers, my comarades, sit and listen as if in oblivion
i hope its right my comarades.

"In the Front-line Woods" was composed in 1943 by the composer Matvey Blanter and the poet Mikhail Isakovsky. This is perhaps the most famous rendition of the song. It was made sometime in 1947-48 by the Red Army Choir with Georgy Vinogradov as the prime soloist.

Great solo song appearance by Georgi Vinogradov. Great chorus and orchestra work. And a great victory over the Nazis, not to forget.

      A yellow light leaf
      Is falling off birches silently.
      An accordionist is playing
      The old-time waltz "Autumn Dream".
      Bass sighs, as if complaining,
      And the soldiers, my comrades,
Sit and listen, as if in oblivion.
      In previous springs we whirled
To the strains of this waltz.
On our native shore we loved our girlfriends
To the strains of this waltz.
We caught the light of their dear eyes
To the strains of this waltz.
We whirled*, being far from our girlfriends,
To the strains of this waltz.
      And now it sounded again
      In the front-line forest,
      And everybody listened and thought
      Of something dear to him.
And everybody thought of his darling,
Remembering that spring [when they were together],
And everybody knew that the road to her
      Passed through the war.
Let the light and joy of the previous meetings
Shine us at the difficult time.
And if we have to die,
      Well, this is only once...
But let even death in fire and smoke
      Not fear the soldier,
And let everybody do all he can
      For the victory.
So, my friends, since it’s our turn,
      Let the steel be strong!
Let our hearts not miss a beat
      And our hands not tremble!
It’s our turn! It’s about time!
Come on, my friends! Let’s go!
To fight for all that we lived for yesterday
And for all that we are waiting for tomorrow!
      A yellow light leaf
      Is falling off birches silently.
      An accordionist is playing
      The old-time waltz "Autumn Dream".
      Bass sighs, as if complaining,
      And the soldiers, my comrades,
Sit and listen, as if in oblivion.

Most ironic thing,to me anyhow,is the fact
that Hitler was not German and Stalin was
not Russian, one was Austrian and the other
a Georgian, but both brought untold misery
down on their adopted countries, as well as the rest of the world. As for the greatest
    soviet general,in my opinion Konstantin
Rokosovsky was by far the best, and a rarity
in that he cared greatly for the men under
his command, Zuhkov was a butcher.
