Hello Ron - I remember meeting you at Crystals, and I snapped a pic of you and Dale! Thank you for such a lovely compliment, we are so flattered by this. :)
It was really special - Dale and I have been huge fans forever, we've seen him at many stages of his life, but seeing him at 80, doing a retrospective for that intimate audience, was a treat.
So are we! Especially now, with prices at restaurants going way up - so yes, we try to be honest. We don't want to recommend a place to you, a visitor, and then it turn out to be a sub-par experience. 😊
This video came up on my feed..Im a long time subscriber of course, I was in the middle of doing chores and actually said "Oh Dale & Paula!" Made a coffee and sat down to enjoy this video. Great job, very classy- love seeing the show and the idea of 3 meals in the same area is so cool. The music choices are so appreciated. Love you guys xo thank you!!
Thank you Mike, that's such a nice thing to say! And we do hope you find the videos useful, in making your own plans. Now we had already vlogged this in an earlier video, but don't miss Virgil's BBQ, also at the Promenade. It's great!
Awesome idea for the 3 meal adventure! Maxie’s looks like my kinda place…love Diners! Lunch at Off the Strip looks delicious! We had dinner there and enjoyed it👍! Margaritaville looks like so much fun…Paula’s Cheeseburger in Paradise and Perfect Margarita combo would be my exact choice🥰👍!!! Wayne…a LV Legend! What a special way to spend an evening👌🤗!! Excellent video as Always! You guys are the best! Miss you!
You two are the best at sharing details about the locations you visit. You bring up so much information I care about and your narration and photography are spot on! Thank you for sharing
I love The Linq Promenade - let's go! I want to try Maxie's. I love the diner feel. I love that menu! Huge Pancakes! I love toast too, and pancakes, and waffles...but I need to quit eating bread!! Tina and I were going to eat at Maxie's but the line was long, so we headed up to the Favorite Bistro instead. Tina and I ate at Off the Strip, it was pretty good, seems like I ordered a steak. Interesting story about the off the strip location. Yum, the Steak Teriyaki Bowl looked excellent and so did the Chicken sandwich. We have been to Margaritaville in Myrtle Beach, but I think we only had drinks. There is now a Margaritaville in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Thanks for the nice review of Margaritaville! Wayne Newton, what a talent! That had to be a wonderful evening! What an absolutely fabulous day! Love the photo of you and Wayne!
Thank you for saying that - you KNOW he spends untold hours going through the music to choose just the right one, and then painstakingly adjusts volumes around the voiceover. When you notice, it makes it all worth it. :)
Superb video Paula and Dale. Enjoyed it all. And Wayne Newton looked amazing too. Thanks so much for your videos. And Dice and I can’t wait to meet you 💖💖
We love that Vegas locals watch our channel - thank you for that! And oh my yes, go to that store and buy something! I bought myself a new t-shirt and a kitchen magnet at Margaritaville, I cannot resist those colorful and fun designs.
Oh dang I was just in Vegas that week . I was over at Caesar’s while you were at the LinQ promenade. So sorry I missed you . It would have made my trip to meet you both . I agree about Margaritaville …fun place for sure . Great video as always 😎😎😎
Great job on an interesting topic. Maxie's looks like a fun place to eat and I'll make it a point to try it on my next trip. Congrats on a wonderful foodie vlog--you did your job and made me hungry!😛
I was not aware that Wayne Newton moved from Cleopatra's 'Barge in ceasars to the Flami go. I would love to check him out. I have toured his Casa Shenandoah in Vegas. A very interesting tour. Thanks for another great video and thanks for my LV tote I bought on your website.
Aww thank you very much for buying a tote!! We appreciate that! :) Yes, I think Wayne started his Flamingo engagement sometime last year - it's a very intimate room, and if you have ever been a fan of his, it's a really well put together show. The stories and video he shared were just excellent.
Well it seems that many of our vlogs feature a little bit of Vegas food to entice you...this time around, we hit you over the head with it, 3 times! :)
Hi you two! Enjoyed watching this, Off the Strip food looks great the chicken avocado sandwich w/salad and the teriyaki steak bowl yummy WHY not carry a camera case with 2 cans of Bud Lite and then just order 2 glasses of ice water, drink the water and fill your water glass with Bud Lite. You would have saved $20 right there! try it :) as long as you don't OPEN them before you get in the restaurant and they are in your camera case, you should be fine.
Great video. I think you should do more of these 3 meal at a resort videos. I was lucky to see Wayne Newton back in the late 70’s at a theater in California. My folks saw him a lot in Lake Tahoe.
Thanks Melissa - we had a lot of fun doing this, and I definitely would do it again. We would have loved to see Wayne in Tahoe! We did see him many times throughout his career, starting in the 1980s Midnight Idol days, and he was incredible.
Love the 3 meal Idea and 2 of the places we have never seen before and will consider next trip. Margarita ville a longtime favorite, used to love stopping for a frozen drink and sitting on the Adirondack chairs for a break . Really enjoyed the vlog and appreciate you 2.
We will be so happy to have you back!! Bring sunscreen, it's starting to get hot...but we know you will have a great time, lots of lost time to make up for!
I really like Maxie’s, always eat breakfast there when staying nearby. Haven’t been to the other two yet but making plans. For dinner I really enjoy Virgil’s. Hint, don’t get the meal for 2 as it actually feeds about 6.
Appreciate the thoughtful review of the Wayne Newton show. A perfect, intimate venue, for interaction between performer and the audience. We saw Carrie Underwood at Resorts World on our last trip, which was a nice sized venue before having to go to a stadium, but no where near as intimate as the Flamingo.I always appreciate the food reviews, and like the breakfast, lunch, and dinner format, although I do tend to avoid chain restaurants when in Vegas. This past trip, my brother in law & his wife took us to Blackout Dining. Have you tried this absolutely unique dining experience? It's located near the Rio, and highly recommend trying it. Since it is completely in the dark, it will be for you both to enjoy, and not for a vlog (unless its a "before & after" one).
Hello Scott - so sorry we missed responding to this comment before now. We totally agree on the Wayne Newton show, it was a rare treat to be able to see a legend like he is, in such an intimate setting. We're so glad you find our content useful, that sure makes us happy! We do know about Blackout Dining - our son actually clued us in several years ago because he's always looking for new and unusual things to do in Vegas. But, we have never been there. Will have to add to our list of things to try!
I love your videos. Aside from your personalities and professional production values that keep me coming back, i hope to catch the first time you get pissed off on camera at the prices! Dale came close today!
Thank you so much for the lovely comment! Well...we did, on camera, during our outro...but we deleted it. I went on a bit of a rant about parking fees - $56 total for the 3 trips to the Strip for these meals. Ridiculous, there I said it! 😆
Thank you for the video! I had never even heard of Maxie's or Off The Strip - now I have 2 more places to add to my list! I grew up in Vegas and always wanted to see Wayne Newton but never had the chance... I need to make it a priority this summer. Dale - you look so familiar! May I ask where you usually played in the late 90's/early 00's?
You might have seen Dale at the Westward Ho, across from the Riviera? He worked in the lounge there for quite some time in the early 2000s. As for Wayne - YES, if you are a fan, go see him while you can. He's 80 this year, so not sure how long he will continue to appear live.
@@paulamckenzie Oh my goodness, I'd forgotten all about the Westward Ho! We had so much fun there in the nineties. So many old places are gone, Bourbon Street, Holiday Inn Boardwalk etc. We used to go to a champagne buffet at the Riviera where pink champagne was in a big fountain (like they do chocolate now) and they had a pyramid of champagne glasses. You would just take one and fill it up at the fountain, all you could drink, lol. We saw Wayne Newton back then at the Riviera or Stardust and it was quite a big variety show with showgirls and different acts, was great! So many good times.
very nice visit to the Linq Promenade. I've walked this on past visits to Vegas but have never stopped to eat at any of the venues. Didn't realize what I was missing.
Oh seriously, SOOO many of the restaurants at the Linq Promenade are really good - it was hard for us to pick, honestly. Next visit, take a stroll through it, and choose a spot for lunch. Virgil's BBQ is a great place!
That was a very fun video to watch. I'm amazed that Dale didn't go for the Filet Mignon at those restaurants lol. You can't go wrong when you go see a show with Mr. Las Vegas as the performer. Seen him a few times and he doesn't disappoint. Looks like his show is scaled down but I'm sure it was entertaining nonetheless. Thanks once again for your efforts, the cinematography, editing, and narration were top notch. Bring on the next one!
Another great & informative video. Love walking the Linq Promenade..one of the best developments they have done in LV. I have only had lunch at In n out burger which was awesome. Going to Vegas tomorrow so might give Off the Strip a try. Thanks for all you do & like your idea of 3 meals at one property. Thanks for all you do! 🇨🇦❤️
Thank you for watching - and yes, food and drinks can be pricey here, no doubt. We weren't looking for bargains necessarily, but maybe a bargain foodie adventure would be a good topic for a future video.
Thanks for reviewing Off the Strip restaurant. We've eaten there 3 times over the years when visition LV, twice when they were in Southern Highlands. I'm not sure if they do it anymore, but they gave us free cheesecake. Once for being a new customer (Southern Highlands) and once for returning to their business at their "new" location on the strip.
Wow we love when our viewers share positive experiences like this! That kind of customer service, and going above and beyond, is what wins our loyalty.
I assume that long after Wayne Newton is gone, one of the Vegas properties will have a twice-nightly animatronic performance of him, akin to President Lincoln at Disneyland……..only in Vegas!
Honestly, there are SO many restaurants all up and down the Promenade, we had a hard time choosing. Those 3 were terrific, but so is Virgil's BBQ, and the Yard House, and Chayo, and Flour & Barley...it's a great place for foodies.
GOD BLESS YOU DALE AND PAULA. I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU AND VERY HAPPY FOR YOU. I HOPE ALL OF YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE MY FRIENDS. I HOPE YOU HAD THE BEST AND HAPPIEST CHRISTMAS OF YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY CRY TO SEE LAS VEGAS VERY VERY VERY SOON! EVERYTHING HAS BEEN A MIRACLE AND FAR BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS! 🙏
@@paulamckenzie YOU ARE VERY WELCOME. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN A MIRACLE. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LAS VEGAS. I HOPE ALL OF YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE DALE AND PAULA. 🙏
Thanks for bringing eateries to our attention which might be overlooked otherwise. As always, Dale's voice-over work is great--Will Lyman has nothing on you my friend! Please keep the great content coming!
OMG!! What a great video and loved the ending with Wayne!!!! I’ve seen him at least 7 times and every time is special. Going to Vegas in June and will try one of these places. Thx Dale and Paula...you two are the BEST!!!
Thank YOU, Donna, for such a terrific comment! We too have probably seen Wayne at least that many times, beginning back in his Midnight Idol days in the 1980s. What a legend! Hope you enjoy every minute of your June visit! :)
Amazing video as usual 💕 Absolutely best place to people watch is standing at the railing at Margaritaville watching the people and traffic and taking in all the lights and scenery! Such awesome memories doing this… can’t wait to do it again soon! I can’t believe a bottle of Budweiser is now 10.00??? … that’s insane 😳
We agree on the beer - obviously, since we actually mentioned it on camera!! But, yes, that Margaritaville corner is ideal to watch the world go by! The upstairs patio isn't open right now - but I think that would be even better.
No, it was an alley, and they demolished the original O’Shea’s and a parking garage to build it. Maybe you are thinking of the Hawaiian Marketplace, a couple blocks further south at Harmon? That’s still there.
You guys live in one of the best places on earth. We ate in off the strip to, good food but the service was crap when we we're there . We actually stayed in a Margaritaville hotel in Hollywood Florida 2thumbs up. Well thanks for sharing ,hope you had fun with wayne Cheers 🥂🥂🍺
We agree, Joe - it IS one of the best places on earth. :) We have had bad service on occasion on the Strip too...and we don't give those establishments a second chance, usually. Too many other options.
Lots of terrific food options on the Linq Promenade - when I went by that morning I also saw that Virgil's BBQ was serving a wonderful breakfast, and so was Chayo. Soooo many choices, I was delighted to see them!
Wow, if you eat out 3 times a day you can easily spend $100 just for one person. $10 dollar beers = Las Vegas inflation. Great video and loved all the places you guys pick to eat. Take care, Mike
Yes, in total, with tips, those 3 meals cost $210. And what we didn't say was that the parking fees for the 3 visits to the Strip came to $56 total. Vegas inflation indeed! Glad you enjoyed our picks though - we did too!
Wayne was at Bally's before the Flamingo, caught a show 2017 and 2018, hope I can see him again. I have been powering through your vlogs, and feel like I am watching the travel channel, excellent work guys!! Have you done a "cheap drinks on the strip vlog" yet?
Thank you so much for watching some of our earlier videos - we appreciate that a lot! We have been compared to the Travel Channel before, and we take that as a compliment. :)
A few hours late to the party but another great video. Great idea 3 different meals at the same property. I'm sensing another series 😁😁. Joe and I need a great buffet breakfast when we come back! Suggestions ( even off the strip)?
Thanks guys, we are so glad you liked this concept - we had such fun doing it! Breakfast buffet...hmmm. We don't do many buffets, but lots of other RUclipsrs do...we hear great things about the AYCE at the newly opened Palms, and of course the Wynn buffet is legendary.
Glad you liked the concept - we sure had fun doing it! We had dinner at Prime with some friends just about a year ago, out on the patio, and it was a great experience. We didn't vlog it though...it is on our list for the second installment of our favorite steakhouses! :)
Loved this. You are both so good at videos! Thanks for the reviews. I think I will skip Maxie's. Rather just go to Dennys. Love Off the Strip. Like, you, I just happened to walk in and have been back several times. It is quite reasonable for a casino hotel/Linq Promenade restaurant. Agree Margaritaville is fun. The one in Atlantic City is on the beach and feels like a vacation! Wayne Newton's up close show is a lovely way for him to keep performing. Thanks for the fun, if cobbled together, day!
Thank you for such a lovely comment. :) We are glad to hear from our viewers that they have positive things to say about Off the Strip - and many of you have said so!
I know I would have loved this visit, also. You got to play tourist on the Hotty, Hot, strip. You know too many say they would have loved the mob to continue to rule but the mob would not have allowed this promenade to have been built. Way too much distraction from their gambling tables. And, Wayne Newton in a lounge like showroom? People don't realize that seeing him close up and personal is great, I'm sure. So lovely, and a good vlog as usual. Your friendly showgirl.
I just love having you comment like this, Kathleen, from a place of sure knowledge and experience. You are SO right - and Dale is one of those who often laments the good old days when the mob ran the Strip - but outdoor venues like the Linq Promenade and The Park would not exist. And I love them! About Wayne, in that small venue: Yep, spot on. An amazing opportunity to enjoy his talents and celebrate his career in an intimate setting.
On the screen inside the show venue with the information about Wayne Newton (18:48), they misspelled "receive". That information has probably been on display for months. I can't believe they haven't corrected it by now.
Prices such as that are the main reason I have not returned to LAS for a visit. Yes, all things have inflated beyond reasonable of late, but add in the "ripoff" factor and this once-regular visitor stays away.
That's a big part of the reason we feature meals in our vlogs - so you know what the prices are, and what you get - and so you can make the right choices when you are here. To compare: You can have a fountain view on the patio at Mon Ami Gabi, and get a breakfast that costs less.
Try Blondies in Miracle Mile. Great breakfast for $3.99. As long as people are stupid enough to get robbed with outrageous prices, establishments will continue to gouge us
so funny $10 bud light inflation at its best there folks i can buy 24bottles bud light in grocery here for 25euro not bragging as thats prob reason irish drink so much haha stay safe u2
I've said it before but would be remiss to not say it again: the narration, editing and music selection in your videos is flawless and professional. You do such an amazing job. Another winner. I love the concept and it's great to see the Wayne Newton content. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the endorsement - we really enjoyed doing this, and definitely would love to do it again.
Wow what a treat! Great way to start a Sunday! And who would’ve guessed Wayne Newton!
We are so glad you thought it was a treat - for us, who got to live it, it was definitely a treat! :)
@@paulamckenzie Thanks I'll put it on my "to do" list.
Well we intend to do a favorite steakhouses part 2, so I think he is saving his filet mignon orders for that video lol!!!
We sure hope you are having a wonderful time here! And, so glad you liked the concept - I definitely want to do this again.
Maxie`s looks great. What time do they open for breakfast? We will be there in September and would like to get there early.
They open at 8 am, and I think if you plan to arrive right then or shortly after, there will be seating indoors or out. Hope you enjoy!
The mint was one of my favorite places for a quick In-N-Out
Food seems gotten pricey don’t think I going back anytime soon still love your videos
LOL well I can't say you're wrong...time will tell. :)
Thanks for sharing
I love the Linq Promenade but we've never eaten in any of the places you went to. They all looked great.
Thanks Peter, for always watching :)
Thank you Buster, it is always great to have someone compliment Dale's voiceovers. :)
Wayne Newton is originally from Roanoke Virginia. Roanoke Virginia is where I live.
Yep I think we knew that - he used to sing about the Shenandoah Valley with great feeling.
The upstairs patio isn't open right now - but I think that would be even better.
thank you you guys made my day
Aww we love to hear that! We are always happy to bring you Virtual Vegas, and brighten your day! :)
that was a great tour thank you dale and paula as always awesome have a great week
Thanks Tony...we always love to know you are out there watching :)
Big fan of your channel and love your videos!! Can’t wait to get back to Vegas in a few weeks.
Thank you so much for watching us! We hope you have a great time when you're here - bring sunscreen, it's getting hot!
Did the ling promenade replace another street market place that was there. I went to see Wayne Newton show at the Stardust Hotel.
No, it was an alley, and they demolished the original O’Shea’s and a parking garage to build it. Maybe you are thinking of the Hawaiian Marketplace, a couple blocks further south at Harmon? That’s still there.
@@paulamckenzie Thank you for clearing it up.
You guys live in one of the best places on earth. We ate in off the strip to, good food but the service was crap when we we're there . We actually stayed in a Margaritaville hotel in Hollywood Florida 2thumbs up.
Well thanks for sharing ,hope you had fun with wayne
Cheers 🥂🥂🍺
We agree, Joe - it IS one of the best places on earth. :) We have had bad service on occasion on the Strip too...and we don't give those establishments a second chance, usually. Too many other options.
your video's are so professional and informative
I started this comment about the Bud Lite price right as you started talking about it in the video guys… unbelievable 😧
Right? A six-pack is like 7 bucks...how could you ever justify charging $10 for one??
Another FABULOUS video Dale and Paula!!! 👏🏼💕
Well thank you, you are pretty Fabulous yourself, Miss Katie! 🥰
Great vlog! I will have to try Maxie’s when in Vegas next month.
Lots of terrific food options on the Linq Promenade - when I went by that morning I also saw that Virgil's BBQ was serving a wonderful breakfast, and so was Chayo. Soooo many choices, I was delighted to see them!
Great video. Loved the content. Please do the same at other properties as well. Great idea!!
Thanks so much - we had such fun doing this, I definitely want to do it again!
Wayne was at Caesars in the cleopatra lounge before flamingo. We saw him there and he was great!
Thank you so much for watching some of our earlier videos - we appreciate that a lot! We have been compared to the Travel Channel before, and we take that as a compliment. :)
🙏🏽🙏🏽🥰❤️🥰❤️I enjoy you so much.
Thank you for the great emojis - and thanks for watching! 🥰🥰
thank you good show
Hello guys good to c u hope all is well enjoy yr video
Hey Tina - all good here, heating up, summer has arrived! Glad you enjoyed the foodie adventure. :)
Love u guys
Well thank you Linda, we love you right back!
Damn!!! Good eatin and great people watching who can go wrong with that
Dale I made a bet with a friend please reply to my comment 😍😍😍
Hello! 😉 You’re right, Linq Promenade is great for both. 👍
This was a great idea. May I suggest the Prime Steakhouse at the Bellagio? I know it's expensive but the Ambiance is great. See my clip
Glad you liked the concept - we sure had fun doing it! We had dinner at Prime with some friends just about a year ago, out on the patio, and it was a great experience. We didn't vlog it though...it is on our list for the second installment of our favorite steakhouses! :)
@@paulamckenzie Great!
Looks like you could stay at the Linq and have everything ride outside
You absolutely can! Or, the Flamingo, or Harrah's. All very affordable, and all just steps from the Promenade.
It looked like Wayne has gotten older and Dale has gotten younger since that photo was taken.
What a nice thing to say! He did shave off his beard for a time there, but not for long, he grew it back and kept it.
Good morning. .😊
Well good morning Linda... 4 days later, but still! :)
On the screen inside the show venue with the information about Wayne Newton (18:48), they misspelled "receive". That information has probably been on display for months. I can't believe they haven't corrected it by now.
I noticed that too - I am a stickler for spelling, and there's no excuse for it ever being wrong.
We seen Wayne at the stardust.
Open my favorite place
👍💯❤️🎲🎰😋
Thanks for all the great emojis! 🥰🥰🥰
Cute
Happy to see that Canter's got replaced. Had an awful experience there once. Food was gross.
Never ate there, but I don't think it was ever successful. Maxie's seems to be doing well, if my visit last Monday is any indication.
2 eggs. 2 sausage patties. 2 pancakes. $17.95?
Yep. That's Vegas. I ate at a casino off the Strip, same kind of breakfast with a cup of coffee $14.95 😯
As long as people are stupid enough to get robbed with outrageous prices, establishments will continue to gouge us
@@joemccauley9309 Excellent suggestion!! 👍
so funny $10 bud light inflation at its best there folks i can buy 24bottles bud light in grocery here for 25euro not bragging as thats prob reason irish drink so much haha stay safe u2
LOL well a six-pack of Bud Light at the local convenience store is 7 bucks...so to charge 10 for a single bottle is not inflation, it's robbery!!
Nice video, Wayne Newton is an icon...Danke Schoen
We agree - an absolute legend in entertainment, particularly here.
