Out of all the hacks that I've seen, this one is the most impressive!!!
That parallax though! It's beautiful.
12 years in the business, never thought of this. I really thought you had a Robotic arm for those shots... Fool me once.
That is a MacGyver worthy trick and that is saying something 😉
This is a slick camera move from an easy & affordable set-up. Thanks for sharing. 🙏
Totally doing this. Thanks!!!
Amazing hack! I didn't have the rails so I used a monopod and a superclamp on a tripod and it was great
Awesome trick. Will also work with a monopod instead of the rails.
Will be trying this out for sure.....
I was looking for silver and I found gold!!!!
dude that's awesome. Slider + motion tracking is so frigggggin expensive. This gets me 80-90% there and saves a ton of dough.. nice man! subbed. Also, we must be some sort of weird camera nerd twins.. I learned on a Pentax K1000 in HS and then bought a Yashica Mat124G shortly after. Now shooting on A6500. so funny. keep on keeping on.
I never expected to Stumble Upon a RUclips channel and the photographer from my home city 10 out of 10 amazed
I got here for the anamorphic videos but you made me hit the subscriber button for this one. A ma zing
Thanks dude!
This is pure genius! I am totally doing this.
This is brilliant man. Immediately bought the rails and rail blocks from your link. Enjoy the 30¢ or however much you get lol. Thanks for the tips my man!
Great idea!
Wow! You're a genius. Thanks for sharing.
I just discovered this video. This technique is awesome, thank you for sharing. Im imagining variations to this as well. Thanks!
brilliant mate, you deserve an award.
Thanks for your generosity! Brilliant technique!
Thanks for the video!! Really cool! I had to use 2x smallrig clamps on the manfrotto baseplate to stop any movement. This allows me to use 20 inch rods and have the ball head upright!
Super smart dude !!! Looks fantastic !!!
Great idea!!! Thanks for sharing.
Way cool! Thanks for the tip sir!
Amazing setup, and the footage are super cool! Well done mate.
Great Video! Can’t wait to try this out. Thanks for sharing!
This is GENIUS! thanks for sharing
This is awesome
this is so good. exactly what i have been looking for.
Genius! Never seen of thought of this!
Very cool!
Dude, really love these movements! I don't have this gear, but man, it looks amazing.
Great shots. Thanx for sharing.
Mind blown. Thanks!!
Dude, if you said you're using that robot thing, I would've believed you
When a man can replace a robot:)
Very cool, ingenious use of gear! Subscribed
MASTER!!!
Fantastic hack.👍👍👍
You are a genius!
Chris this is brilliant!
It does look awesome! Thanks for sharing
Such a great idea!
phenomenal.!
Loved it.
This is trippy
Thanks for the tips! 🤙
Hellyeah man. Sweetness
Wow, what an awesome tip. thanks!
Nicely done!
bruh.... and do you perform a digital zoom in post as well? what a dope hack!
No digital zoom, just pan/tilt with autofocus.
wowo this is amazing.... thanks for sharing
I am also thinking the same
Genius
Good point,, “its not cool, if not share”
Like it very much,,
Great tip.
wow, this is cool. thanks for the idea.
Bruhhh put a slider on that rig and you can do a push/pull while doing the tilt+pan move
Now it's big brain time
great !!
Love this idea! I've never used rods/clamps before. How did you mount the ball head to the rod clamps? I think I missed that part
They have 1/4-20 threads in them so your normal tripod plate screws go right in.
@@ChristopherBurress I understand connecting the fluid head to the rail mounts. But aren't the rail mount and small ball head female to female?
Oh yeah, sorry. The ball head also has a 1/4-20 thread in it that you can run a screw through the clamp into the bottom of the ball head. If you don't have one on hand you can get it from any hardware store out there.
@@ChristopherBurress Thanks 😄
Magnifique
Awesome.
Awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Sorry to bother you again. Is there a way of knowing what exact 1/4inch screw you are using for this set up ( to connect cheap ball head to small rig) I have purchased already like 3 different screws and the camera just keeps wiggling. I even put a washer in between screw and ball head but still...Can you send me amazon link or if you can add it in your description?? Thanks.
I used the black screw that came with the rod Clamps. Does it seem like it's bottoming out in the ballhead? Take it off the clamp and just run the screw in till it stops, is the remaining amount of screw smaller than the thickness of the clamp? If not then you may need to get a shorter 1/4-20 screw.
wow!

Christopher Burress Awesome! Which tripod feet don you recommend for that specific fluid head? I would prefer a Manfrotto one (I don’t know anything about this tripod systems).
Christopher Burress BTW: the rod clamps link doesn’t work for me
I haven't had many tripods to be honest. I got this one from my father in law and it's an manfrotto that's really heavy but gets the job done. I think that if you get any tripod that gets up to the 70" range in height it will probably be steady enough to handle a fluid head. But I don't have any specific recommendations.
I changed it. Hopefully it works!
Nice idea ...it looks like the shot was with a motion control rig
I know! That's what makes it such a cool find.
One last question. The cheap tripod head that holds the camera it's a little bit loose on the small rig plate. I think i am using an incorrect 1/4 inch screw. Not sure what screw you are using for the ball head. That wasnt on your list of things to buy for this setup. Can you tell me which screw to use to make the ball head not move everywhere. ( screw that goes from cheese plate to cheap ball head) to secure it. I hope you know what I'm trying to say.
I would use a screw that you can tighten with a tool like an Allen wrench. Hand tight won't really work. And if you still can get it tight make sure you aren't bottoming out the screw into the bottom of the ballhead. If you are (or if it is just still moving on you) put a piece of rubber or leather underneath the ballhead to give some grip.
@@ChristopherBurress thanks
hey man! great vid. how do u connect the rods and the clamps to the tripod?..
It's all got 1/4-20 threads that you can screw to the tripod plate
@@ChristopherBurress thanks
What focal lenght you use on your tamron lens for this type of shot??? At 50? 75? Etc
Depends on the shot. It focuses close enough that I can do close ups at 75mm and at 28mm it gives the wider shot as shown as an example for the pan shot.
Cool.
neat
can you do this with a mono pod ?
It's worth a try
what if the ball head swith to fluid head?
I had a subscriber do that. It made for some neat dynamic shots.
Love your stuff but man, you gotta make better thumbnails so people can find you 😅
I know this one is particularly bad. Ive already decided to re-do it after I get off work lol.
Modified it for now. Lol a little better...
Better now!
this only work if you had a Table.. and to do this, you need to be very carefull because, when you do shoot.. you might see the tripod head below your product spot
I thought most people had tables, or a desk, or a TV dinner stand at least. Once you align the camera to not include the tripod head you never see it because the tripod head moves in relation to the camera. Please don't give advice on something you haven't tried yet.
So simple, yet so effective!
