Dirt Daily. Dirty 80 Back Seat and Flare Delete
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 23 июл 2024
- The Dirty 80 series Land Cruiser lost some weight with a third row seat delete and removal of the ugly old fender flares. But it's still looking pretty ugly. This high mileage Land Cruiser is about due for some new improvements.

It is amazing how much better it looks with those stupid flares removed. What engineer in Japan, actually THOUGHT those were stylish? GREAT WORK FRED!!
I appreciate how you call them "pieces of flair"
Love the tire falling! 😂😂
Out of all the car/truck shows/vids I watch you have, by far the loudest impact gun
Just bed line the bottom half
Hey Fred, thanks for the content.
Band aids. Band aids to cover those holes would work. Use neosporin to heal the holes underneath. Give it a few weeks, good as new.
You could use plastic body plugs/christmas tree fasteners to fill in the holes. You can leave them natural color or paint them with a plastic/vinyl dye - black or body color. You can put the square plugs back in the square holes and then put a plug in the center to cover up the hole for the screw.
Plugged the third brake light hole on the tailgate for my jeep like that.
Done that on a flair delete on a shotgun sport, looked pretty decent esp black plugs on a black car
looking better each time we see it
Always wanted one of these, minus the spiders.
Love your enthusiasm Fred
About threw my coffee across the room when the "rattle snake" came out--THANKS FRED😅
Love the Dirty 80! Can’t wait to see the OME suspension and other details you will complete. You da man Fred!
Cool video Fred, thanks
RZR 1000 with a VW Beatle body … or. Can am Beatle , people are doing this as a loophole so they can drive their UTVs on the roads, look it up here on the tube . Your gonna want to make one after you see it. I also told D H Dave
Yur ol Buddy was just installing a cage and sliders in an fjzlxwhatever it is... Look forward to the next episode!
thanks Fred
"Old, a little bit ugly, got a few miles, a few dents" My favorite kind of 4wd
Good video,
I picked up an Lx450 removed the flare’s and side plastic’s a while back it has so many more holes then the Landcruiser’s, still need to fill them holes.
Thanks for posting
I love the no flares look. I painted my 93 LC white . If I deleted mine, i'd have to paint. bummer.
You could use nutcerts in the hole like your sliders on nubesock. Or small fiberglass patches on the inside and Bondo the outside.
Also definitely need rattle snake covered seats now.
One of the greatest 4x4 ever build especially the diesel, mine has 612000km on the clock and still strong
Sweet rig, Fred. Looking forward to the ongoing build. Hopefully you'll remember to leave room for a gal pal.
OnX trails saved me on the Poison Spider loop. I followed some tracks, thinking it was an alternate and went way off the trail. It got me back on trail where it wasn't obvious. Flat slickrock rarely has tread marks!
4x4 Labs in Grass Valley, CA makes a really nice weld together rear bumper kit for the 80. I have one on mine and love it. Might be a cool episode showing everyone how to weld one together on the Dirty 80
Don't forget to remove the rattlesnake! 😅
I almost got a set of land cruiser axles for about $500. Was going to put either the front axle or both under my 91 4runner. Still plan to put a 2uz in it, but solid axles will have to wait until I can get what I'm after.
Looking good 👍👍
I learned something interesting about these 80 series and one reason they're still so pricey. If these were traded back in at Toyota dealerships and fit a certain criteria, they yould be sent back to toyota and refurbished and sent over seas to countries in Africa and South America.
Regarding the holes left in the body, get some rubber bumper plugs and just push them in. :)
Fill the round holes w/ the appropriate sized pop rivets.
about 1 min in ' it's kind of old , it's kind of ugly , was cool once , it's been replaced by younger hipper things ' ....... i take that personally ... oh hang on , Fred was talking about that truck wasn't he ?? lol
You could tape over the hole on the outside an get some black RTV on the inside let it dry an peel the tape👍🏼
Cool vid. Do you know if you could use the third seat seat belts to replace the drivers seat belt?
Living dangerously with that spare tire dropping
Hey Fred,
What are you going to do with those brackets?? I need them.. 😅 From the rear doors
You can remove those rear seats without taking the whole mounting plate off. Just FYI
Are you going to use that trailer hitch? I’ll take it Fred!
Nutcerts for filling in the holes?
How much would you want for the rear bumper plastics if you still have them?
Can I purchase the right front fender flare?
Are you going for an aussie style build? Would be cool to see some scrub bars on it to match the bullbar
Highly doubt it. Probably rock crawl it until its smashed to death.
Weld it up Fred. It'll get bent anyway.
Fred we all know you and body work. 🙃yep😉
Comment and like for the algorithm, all hail the algorithm.
I miss you and your partner.
Cut the fenders for BIG tires....
3D printed filler pieces maybe??
You very funny...
Not worth $165k!? Come on! Lol.
You're going to ruin it leave it alone it'll go forever the way it is
what about smog CA sucks
First
And last at the same time! 🤣
Ruined a million-mile vehicle
