Many thanks for this video. At around 0:40 you mentioned that you fixed the problem by tapping the actuator. I lightly did this with the back of my screwdriver and it began to work again. Saved me a trip to the auto repair shop.
Awesome and concise video my man... really appreciated that you showed which direction the hot and cold air faced on the actuator too... because until I get my actuator fixed, I can manually switch it to heat as a short term solution! Thank you so much!

I can’t thank you enough! Your video was awesome, and I had the exact same experience. One tap, and the actuator started working. (It probably stuck three days ago when it was actually HOT here, and my A/C was on full blast. The last two days have been unseasonably cold). But it’s no longer cold inside!!!! Stay awesome, and count me as a life long subscriber.
Thank You C Mac. You saved me a lot of money by showing us how to do this. The car was blowing hot air out of one side, and cool air out of the other side. That actuator door wasn't switching over. Thanks again Coach! Much appreciated.
With the heater on, mine is blowing cold on ds ( not blowing very hard) and hot out of the ps, blower works good here. Did it work after replacing this part?
Thanks you very much. You just saved me a LOT of trouble. My ac is cold under the hood but its blowing hot air and it was only 119 out today in Arizona. I can't thank you enough.
It's a very good video. We've had a lot of rain and my windows were all steamed up. I slid the temp control to hot. This afternoon when it was 90° I slid it back to cold and still had hot air. I didn't want to tear into it tonight, so I grabbed the knob on the temp control and pulled outwards and pushed down and slid it back to cool. I now have cold air. The slide didn't feel right It felt like it was loose, so that's why I tried that. It's a 2004 Buick.
Thank you so much for the details and patience. My mechanic said my heating core may be bad. He cut mine off it. He thinks the corrison from the heating core was going in the engine. Thanks again. 😊
Thank you! I have a 2003 and a mechanic told me you have to take whole dash apart and it would take 6-7 hours! Said he didn't have time. I'm 68 and I put the AC blower motor in with my son's help on the tight screws and it quit, too, so I need to replace both. Thanks. I can do that.
FWIW, I believe the indoor air re-circulation actuator is behind the glove box on the upper right. I expect it looks the same, might even be the same part.
Thanks for the tip! I have the same issue on both sides. I'm pretty handy so I'll try the right side first passenger side and see how that works. I'll try tapping it first like you did. Good video. Very helpful!

Nice vid man thanks.... Quote for the day, "Just beat on it". Gonna give it a tap or two see if I can get it to start working temporarily until the new part shows.
Great video , I got a question blower fan related, if I hit a decent bump my fan will start to shut off or power down, if I hit a big bump hard it will shut off till I hit a bump again then it most of the time kicks back on. Any idea ?
Yes... sounds like a connection issue, check your blower connection or your Blower motor/fan may need to be replaced or the blower motor resistor (which controls the fan speeds hi low etc) may need replaced also.
I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre heat an air works. But my air blows cold on the passenger side but driver side is warm. What's causing this? Same Car' as urs inside looks the same
Does your LeSabre have digital dual climate? Also there is an actuator located under the dash on the driver side just to the right of the steering wheel.
@Rex-bf9nx yes this moves when you move the temp from hot to cold...vice versa. But this is for digital electronic temp control units. If you have a manual slider, then there is a cable that moves the blender door temp from hot to cold.
That could be a couple of issues. 1. There is an actuator for the drivers side for dual climate control systems which is located under the dash to the right of the steering wheel that is stuck in the warm position. Vehicles without dual climate will have the driver side actuator is this same area as shown in this video. 2. The A/C needs to be topped off with R-134 because you have a leak. More than likely you have a problem with the driver side actuator.

Hey thanks for posting this. I just got a freon refill on our 03 LeSabre because the cold air was slowing decreasing to the point where is was hot. After the refill, the air is still hot. Wondering if the actuator is the issue.
@@cedmac3366 Turns out it was my ac line that needed to be replaced (the blend door is working fine). When we shined a UV light near the lines, you could see the refrigerant splattering from a crack. @winterrider6668 this actuator controls the temp...which switches it from hot/heat to cold air. Your AC refrigerant still needs to be topped off from the low side port under the hood. Check out my channel I have a video about recharging your AC. Thanks for watching 😎
Is there another one on the other side one side blows hot on the driverside the other blows cold on the passenger side thanks for the vid also it was helpful fellow buick owner
Jason Sostand Good question...I dont think so. But not sure. Bcus this is the custom Lesabre w/o dual climate control. Park Avenues and the LeSabre Limited both have one for each side.
I have a 2001 buick lesabre the previous owner of this car had all the wires dangling down in the passenger side the heater would work if u jiggle the wires well now it won't come on at all I'm not sure if the wires has gotten unplugged I've been trying to figure it out but I don't know what I'm doing
Remove the plastic black cover underneath the glovebox...then you will be able to see the blower fan and or blower fan resistor. Check the wiring for both. If the resistor is bad then your blower fan will not operate correctly.
Howzit Ced Mac, I just picked up a 2002 Buick Lesabre Custom and the AC is only blowing out the window vents but not out the driver and passenger vents, Is this the part to change?
There was an actuator on the driver side for the blend doors that I had to have my mechanic find because I could not get the location anywhere online, only the part. The shitty part was that my compressor was going bad also so wasn't just a simple actuator fix.
JOSHUA GANHINHIN check RUclips vid ‘DeNichols’ the other actuator is on driver side near heat exhaust. They show it on this video. The guy found his was not attached so just clicked into notches. It’s near gas pedal so maybe gets tapped by foot from time to time. Good luck. It helped me and I’m a girl.
Hey ced i been looking at all kind of acuators and they all say they fit but the prones are not adding up im not trying to pay $150 for the part looking for the after market and cant find 1 does the prones even matter..
Prongs do matter. Use RockAuto.com to nail down your needs as they are very good at exact match needed. They show using RPO codes to find the correct one too. RPO codes used to be in the glove box liner and showed exactly what accessories were installed in the car, three characters that exactly match up to what you need. The $150 version goes for $115 at rockauto and some are as low as $15, and eBay is with free shipping for same price. Blend door actuator controls temperature, but there is another actuator controlling inlet source inside or outside. Often called Recirc which is short for recirculation it's just another door motor that can go wrong. Mode door actuator controls air outlet at feet or dash vents or defroster vents, yet another motor.
My glove box won't let me pull it out. It's a 2004 and my 2000 didn't give me any problems pulling it out. Very subtle changes were made. If you have a idea or know about the problem please let me know.
From what I know...its the same process. The clips may be a little different or harder to detach but it should be a similar process. I'll let you know if I find out something different for the 2004
Yes. I believe there are 2 actuators in this location. If you have dual climate control, then I believe there is an actuator on the drivers side under the steering wheel just to the right...the Park Avenue has dual climate and that's where 1 is located.
Just added 12oz of freon to my AC. Its quite a bit better than it was, but not quite happy with it. The actuator turns like yours but its still not as cold as the passenger side. Ok theres actually 2 actuators both on the passenger side as shown in this video. I only pointed out 1 which was my issue. Yours could be the other one. Not sure of the exact location of the second one but it's on the passenger side also. I will try and locate the other for you.

Ok...this was a Lesabre Custom with a single zone...so I hope it helps you get to the bottom of your issue or at least point you in the right direction...good luck
Yes but it depends on a few things. First make sure your AC Compressor in operating and filled up to the correct level. If so, and your air is still blowing hot you can try this to see if your actuator is working correctly. Good luck

Can you explain the issues you are having and I can better assist you
@@cedmac3366 I found the problem. Was sent the wrong part. The connector pins are different. Thank you for your response
my car only blows cold air old on the driver side could this be the problem
Yes...but I have a question. Do you have the Custom LeSabre or the Limited?
@@cedmac3366 limited
@@xo.taylor951 Ok...then you have dual climate. This should fix your issue and I believe the drivers side one is located underneath the dash just to the right steering wheel.
@@cedmac3366 ok thank you !!
Thanks for your time and effort.
Hope it helped
So I just tried this on my 2001 Buick leSabre because I have heat on the passenger side but air on the driver side... it will change from floor to vent to defrost but the driver side won’t get warm! I went through the glove box just like this video and the actuator moves just like you said it would when I adjusted the temperatures but it still doesn’t work on the driver side... any suggestions?
Do you have the Limited w/dual climate?
No
Is there a left side actuator maybe? If so how do I get to it?
Ok theres actually 2 actuators both on the passenger side as shown in this video. I only pointed out 1 which was my issue. Yours could be the other one. Not sure of the exact location of the second one but it's on the passenger side also. I will try and locate the other for you.
Awesome! I think I saw a video about one under the dash on the driver side but it wasn’t the exact model of my car so idk 🤷🏻♀️
Hell yeah brother! thanks for the vid!
Hopes this helped
Great tutorial - Thanks Bro !!
Nicely done bro
Did this work for you? Was yours stuck on the hot side?
@@cedmac3366 havent worked on my car yet but i have the dual zone temp control in my '03 buick century and the driver side is stuck on hot. The dash of our cars looks similar so im hoping it will be as easy as it was for you. Nice job on the video.
Ok...this was a Lesabre Custom with a single zone...so I hope it helps you get to the bottom of your issue or at least point you in the right direction...good luck
Good video man thank you
Exactly wut i needed to know. Appreciate the video thanks for posting.
Can I do the same thing for my Buick Century 2005 its blowing out hot air
Yes but it depends on a few things. First make sure your AC Compressor in operating and filled up to the correct level. If so, and your air is still blowing hot you can try this to see if your actuator is working correctly. Good luck
Thank you! How long did it take you???
Not long at all...20mins or.so
