Hiya Zdenka : I don’t usually make comments in RUclips but after I seen your video about leaving the Wedding business I decide to comment to you . Thank you for sharing our story. Things have changed and are changing you certainly are lucky that we had those moments and we could work at the time it was all possible. 😊🎥📸🎬
I share the same feelings as you. After 20 years of shooting weddings, I grew to dread each and every one. It felt like each wedding was taking a piece of my soul away. I couldn't stand being treated poorly by clients/other wedding vendors/family members, so I quit all of that last year. It's quite a relief to not have that anxiety every weekend. I've also been a SS contributor for 15 years and their new pricing structure is a knife in the back for sure.
Thank you very much for sharing so we are exactly in the same boat. So you know what I mean by anxieties. I was in a bad mood already panicking the day before. It was getting worse and worse last year. It was time to get out for me for sure. Wishing you best of luck. 😊🎬🎥📸
I commend wedding photographers, tried it myself as the main and 2nd shooter. As much as I loved the experience, it wasn't for me. It's a lot of work but I also understood why the costs are justified. I do agree that way too many people that have a camera instantly assume that they are a photographer/videographer without first learning the ropes.
I was asked to take photos at my friend’s daughter’s wedding last October. Told him he had to get a pro too, but I would take shots the pro wasn’t taking. Stayed well out of her way, got a big smile when she realized I was taking a shot of her. The entire wedding party was well behaved and a good time was had by all. This was nice to see, and I can imagine this may now be far from the norm. With Covid, we sure need discipline and consideration for others. I’m disappointed, but then I’m a grouchy old man...
Thank you very much for sharing. Not all weddings are bad he just got very lucky with a great wedding. I had also a few amazing weddings last year as well. It is just the bad experiences are starting to be more and more often. 😊📸🎬🎥
Hello! I just discovered your channel via another topic (Zhiyun Smooth 4/FilmicPro-- great and beautiful video!). I soon found this video and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this! You have summarized everything I have felt and experienced in the past few years, as I exited the wedding industry. I can relate to EVERYTHING you say in this video, from the pricing to the videographers to the problematic guests, the mixed emotions about leaving it behind... all of it. You also briefly referred to an eye problem, so I'm going to dig deeper in your channel for that and more-- can't wait! Thank you for putting such great content into the world. I'm glad I found you!
Thank you very much for your support and such upbeat message. Wedding industry is tough isn’t it? I don’t regret my decision. I am about to sell my DSLRs and quite honestly I don’t feel bad at all about it. The eye is much better now.... 😊🎥📸🎬
i could relate to everything you said about new photographers/videographers coming into the wedding industry Zdenka. I decided to retire after 30 years as a wedding videographer and I'm from the old school who stayed just a little bit too long in the industry and when the pandemic kicked in destroying my main stream of income, it helped me to retire early and encouraged me to find new income streams via the internet. I'm from London, England and I too experienced the attitude of some of the new wave of photographers & videographers, I come from a time of apprenticeships, runners etc starting from the bottom and where the industry work ethics was taught to us before contemplating going professional. Fabulous content, keep up the good work.
hi Zdenka, this was a good move in my opinion, i work as a sacristan in the church, thats why i fully understand what you mean about the behavior of the guests. thank you for this beautiful videos an challenges i like it.
Amen.. photographed weddings for 25 years, 700+ weddings.. Congrats on stepping away, best thing we have done. Now just overlanding and creating landscape prints for charity! Much more meaningful! Thanks for a great video.. love hearing our your history and advice!
Zdenka, I totally agree with you about the Wedding Photographer situation and this is why I stopped doing Weddings after 25 years. As far as Shutterstock is concerned, I feel that they will regret their decision to lower the payment. Others have done this in the past and have lost a great deal of business and could not get it back.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. Who knows what is the reason behind the Shutterstock decision? .... It’s just too bad. Time to work for Pond 5 or Envato marketplace 😊🎥📸🎬
As a former wedding videographer, I've had to deal with photographer(s) getting my way when I'm shooting ... not considering looking for me (my location) before they charge here and there to get their shots. Also, the guests are constantly getting the way of both, my and the photographer's, shots ... no consideration whatsoever. While that was {increasingly} enough, it is very challenging (if not impossible) when a venue is in a small, tight room for the ceremony part of the event. As I'm sure you know, even IF there is a "event coordinator", good luck with having the help control the herd, not to mention sticking to the Agenda (if they even have one), so as to be able to anticipate where I needed to be to shoot. But ... I digress, since I, too, am finished with shooting weddings. Good video, by the way. I just subscribed. Cheers, Chuck in Florida : +)
Milá Zdeňko, náhodou jsem narazil na Tvá videa a moc Ti držím palce! Podle reakcí máš skvělé fanoušky a je vidět že to co děláš má šmrnc! :-) poslouchám Tě anglicky, a v nitru Tě slyším česky a tak Ti z celé duše rozumím ;-) Keep up the good work and greetings from France 🇫🇷👍🏻
To chapu ... je to fuška vydržet 👍🏻 mě to inspirovalo vytáhnout staré foťáky a něco nafotit na film, z ČR jsem si nechal poslat Fomapan :-) úžasná nostalgie
Hej Zdenka! One topic that seems to get a lot of traction is IRL (live streaming video to YT and Twitch) which requires a lot of knowledge about the right gear, workflow and networking (mobile streaming). Also topics like how to record on a bike/scooter in a way besides "gopro default mode" could become more interesting.
Thank you very much for your suggestion. Unfortunately those are things right now which are not so interesting to me. I’m not familiar with it so I cannot really make videos about that. 😊🎬🎥📸
Things are changing so rapidly. I applaud you for your recognition of the changing environment and adaptability in order to be able to survive and practice your craft.
Thank you very much for your support and noticing. Yes I don’t want to get stuck in that category which is always complaining but not able to adapt. Thanks will be always changing and it’s only up to us to adjust. Have a great day. 😊📸🎬🎥
Hi! I totally get your decision. I worked as a wedding photographer many centuries ago (!) with a 35mm film camera. My first job I decided I would not be the obnoxious wedding photog. I tried to take all candid photos. No posing. It was a disaster. Pictures were lousy. Clients were super pissed. My boss almost fired me. After that I would argue with drunk guests AND tipsy couples making them pose. I would tell them: Better that you hate me today, but love the photos tomorrow, than the other way round. But, it took its toll. I was really exhausted, but kept at it UNTIL Video became a thing. That's when I quit. Fighting the video guy (often an uncle or friend of the family) for positioning was bad enough. But having a powerful light against by back (that's way before LED lights) and sweating so much I could't see the fogged up camera visor, was the last straw. Had some great life experiences, but it is not a job I would go back to (and I have done MANY hard jobs)
I have been doing wedding photography since 1976. And I ALWAYS would approach the officiator of the wedding and ask them of any restrictions they may have and I RESPECT that. Almost anything can be reposed. I do the same thing with the catering hall manager and the band. I discuss with them what I would LIKE to do with the bride, groom and family. When u do this you will have them eating out if your hand. When posing or reposing at the church, i will invite people to join me while I shoot, but under no circumstance do I lose control of the crowd. The bride and groom rely on my expertise and talent to get the shots they desire. Way before the wedding I ask them to make a list of "must have" photographs. I get this list the day of the wedding and the bride will assign a person to get the people together for a shot. Even though I have shot hundreds of weddings I always remember that I work for the bride and groom. After the wedding day is over, the only record of the day, is my work. I never take "snapshots" all my images are beautiful photographs. Also I NEVER wore a tux, I saw too many photographers get asked "can i get another fork?"
Thank you very much. I’m going to start preparing the scripts and filming them most likely in September. Right now when the kids are home it’s just simply impossible. It is hard enough to make those RUclips videos with them being around. So I should be sometimes before Christmas. Thank you very much again. 😊📸🎬🎥
I have started taking online courses about photography and in a matter of fact I bought my first camera, the Canon m50, I realize that I am a starter. Before the pandemic of COVID19 at the office we used to go to our client's restaurant every month to take photos, at first we used mobile phones since its for social media, and I would say that I was not that good at it, then we got a professional camera Nikon 6500 D, there was a time were I went alone without the help of my colleagues and the images were not as I expected and that time I knew nothing of shutter speed, ISO and aperture. Today I learned few basics, but still doesn't make me a pro, and at the moment I am still a learner, I have been a graphic designer for over 10 years and today's skills are not like when I started I even got the chance to take few courses to enhance my work and knowledge
Interesting video. You emphasize a lot of critical points which I very much can relate to and why I turned my back on wedding photograhy a couple of years ago. So, I know what you're talking about. Thanks for the advice by the way.
That Moza setup looks really nice. But I have to say the iPhone video doesn't hold a candle to your M50. Maybe I'm biased, or maybe it's because you were using the front camera instead of the back.
Thank you for your input that was my point of today’s video. For indoors and 50 is absolutely way better. And it’s going to be replaced because you can use very good lenses with it. Smart phones are great outdoors. 😊🎬🎥📸
Hi. I'm new to phone filmmaking... I understand why an extra light is necessary when filming with the front camera (vlogging). But, when filming with the rear camera you can leave the phone flashlight on... Is there a big difference between using the built-in phone light vs an external portable light such as the one from Moza Vlogging Kit? Thanks
Love all your videos, I have the canon m50 with the nifty fifty and the VILTROX adapter, I'm looking forward of getting the sigma 16mm 1.4 but it's out of stock everywhere, thanks for the awesome content 🙂👍
Thank you very much for your support I’m also looking at that lens to I would love to have it as well. But first I need to invest in some wide angle lens. Many greetings back to you. 😊📸🎬🎥
Really glad I have found your channel. Loved the video and the way you approach working as a photographer in 2020. Have you had any experience working through Shutterstock Contributer program? Also, hi from London ^^
Pls. suggest, If we take a video and moving from bright sunny area to Indore or darker area, Camera trying to adjust the light or white balance, how can we avoid and make a fixed white balance irrespective I am filming anywhere Presently I am using EOS M50
HI from India..! What an experience you shared ... Generations have changed and though I am not in the same field as yours I do feel the younger lot is much more aggressive and ruthless...Respect frankly is rare or none exhibited by them... They want instant fame unlike generation of mine who preferred slogging and learning the ropes and then grow..
I just recently subscribed to your RUclips videos and I feel like I'm late for the party, with this new direction your career path as taking you to. Nevertheless, I'm glad to hear you've the flexibility in changing your trajectory to land elsewhere. Just an FYI, I'm a realtor in Durham Region and I wanted to find out if you'd be intrested in teaching classes to fellow realtors through board sponsored sessions on using videos taken by a smartphone and a gimbal for open houses and for virtual tours, especially now since COVID19 is the new norm?
Thank you very much for your comment it is never too late to the party it’s actually just about to start. 😁 With weddings my hands were tied and I could not fully concentrate on this. I am afraid I don’t have additional time to do anything else besides RUclips so I’m sorry I won’t be able to help the board. But I will be making videos on that on this channel. Wishing you all the best. 😊🎥📸🎬
very difficult to compete with young photographers, now I become a freelance photographer & cameramen after 13 years of owning my photography business. now I learn from zero again not the way I take pictures, but the way I process photos and videos, the style of the marriage world has changed, in the past, to display video editing or photo clips, we need a laptop, now with a smartphone we can edit faster. For an old person like me to learn from the beginning is not something easy. I have to follow the new trend if I want to survive in the world of photography and videography.but i love my work as photographer and cameramen.
I completely understand. This field is hard as you have to keep up with fast changing trends and technology. I completely understand. I struggle as well. 🎥😊📸🎬
It’s been said the iPhone 11Pro’s camera system grays the line between smartphone and DSLR quality photography. If that is true and building on that premise, I wonder if an even more improved camera system on a gimbal mounted upcoming iPad Mini would gray the same line when compared to cine camera production? Filming with iPhones on productions has already been going on for a while now. An even better camera with a cine camera size screen seem would offer additional options.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. I’m still very new with iPhone as I just got it only few weeks ago so I have to do a little bit more observing with that phone. So far I’m only amazed how far is the went so far. I will be getting into colour grading pretty soon and then hopefully making more videos about that. 😊📸🎬🎥
I don't agree, phones are a long way behind a full frame hybrid camera like a Sony A7iii or an EOS R. The picture quality is far below par, especially when you start colour grading and pushing the image around. Colours on the phones are aweful and even in this example it is easy to see the difference. When you go outside the phones really hit their limitations and whole parts of the face can be blown out. Yep to a untrained eye it looks fine, but phones and action cameras are so so. If phones were so good, why do semi successful YTubers lug around big cameras, gimbals and micophones, there is a reason.
Waynos Fotos I am in full agreement. My point was never meant to say an iPhone could ever replace an Arri, Red and even an A7. But five years ago an entire episode of Modern Family was shot in its entirety on Apple devices, including iPhones and iPads. More recent a Lady Gaga video was shot with an iPhone 11 Pro. I never meant for it be a primary production camera, but in the right hands with the right eye, the camera technology for these devices is advancing making them a viable tool in a creator’s toolbox, as well as budding film makers just starting out.
Hi! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences honoured to know, here I'm from India and I'm professional photographer/videographer since last 31years,and what all you've said and shared today believe me you've said everything what I'm being experiencing since last few years and planning soon to quit specifically"weddings" because of these reasons, it's sad to but can't depressized because of daily such things, photography Market has becoming worse day by day especially wedding, even though new technologies have improved but I still prefer to use manual focus photography that's something I love most rather then clicking in auto mode, surely I'm gonna miss many things as you've said same here, but I need to take stand for my this decision, and well being creative photo/videographer I won't be out of bread and butter, because I do believe in my hardwork and my Karma, I'm glad to get connected with you through youtube or insta, will surely keep going, and please take care and keep smiling be happy, and I'm sure that you'll have very much happiness from the decision you took. Regards Dinesh🙏🤗
You’ve inspired me to do a response or reaction video to your video to go over a lot of the issues you talked about with the wedding industry and how to change the mindset with the ever evolving industry.
Unfortunately I don’t have a family time. I even tried babysitting to get that feel of being a part of a family but guess what? I wasn’t a babysitter I was a maid. A very hard working one. So I ended up having two jobs with the second one (being a maid in a large family under a guise of “babysitting”) it totally fried me. I was so tired all the time and felt very un-appreciated... just, NOT what I thought a family time would be. I wish I could try wedding photography but the equipment is SO expensive. And it seems SO complicated.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. Unfortunately that’s what women have to go through here and there especially when they have families and kids. I have many times the same feelings and I still do. I also had to put down my foot and make the change. Wishing all the best. 😊📸🎬🎥
So, speaking of submitting a video clip to stock....you don’t submit the video with sound...isn’t that correct? So, what do you use to edit your video for stock? How do you go about color correction?
Same here, years back, there was respect for professionals working, also respect between us. Difference to today? When we started (my generation) , hardware and "glass" was expensive, few could afford buying lot's of film for a dedicated shooting, spend hours in the darkroom, years in school or in studio before starting as photographer, while today hard- and software ware cost little, basically everyone with some editing software practice can make bad photo to an impressive one (specially in raw). Competition therefore has increased, everyone on Instagram, so result is what you reflect in your video. Making money today with photography is very hard.... indeed. Good luck and thank's, you make nice and sincerely presentations, not egomaniac videos about how good they are rather to explain what the title was suggesting.
Zdenka Darula. . I perfectly understand what you said when it comes to photographing weddings. But you can solve this problem in a very simple way, and earn some money, without major worries, You will be doing less weddings. Here in Portugal the Problem is similar, and simple to solve, but everything depends on you and the way you Organize things,
I think Shutterstock's new payment schedule and annual reset will find them wanting for contributors. People will find alternatives, or their new policy will create new competition for stock photography. Good show
Thank you very much I think a lot of us feel the same but we can’t do anything about it. Either except it or just remove ourselves. I guess sometimes it’s better to move on. 😊📸🎬🎥
Totally agree with you I’ve done wedding for over 20 years and the industry is in a major mess, mainly due to people in it for a quick cash grab and not for the end clients, also professional manner, techniques, and rules are disregarded at all parties expenses which is seriously setting the industry back. The amount of photographers I see giving images to clients that are not colour corrected properly or gone through any post production service is disgusting and upsetting to see in an industry I’ve been so proud to be part of. It’s made even more devalued by the customer thinking all cameras are equal and not being able to understand the skill of an experienced professional photographer. Taking all your comments onboard and mine above totally get why you are getting out of the game.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Are used to have amazing weddings it’s just all was happening last two years. I would say half of the weddings were great and a half of the weddings were bad. I think it was the right time for me to leave before the industry changes even further. Thank you again for sharing have a nice day. 😊🎬🎥📸
Hai Zdinka, Yeah it is a good decision to move on because the world is changing and so is the creative world so it's always healthy to stay in the on the go trend and make yourself pop in the community, may these problems and you decision to move will be for a better tomorrow....I can see your dedication and passion towards photography ... I am just a beginner from India ... When i also get a work it's not just a job .... It's you as a person making their day a better and memorable one ... But lot of goes unnoticed ... But if work with real passion and take right decision ... Our work will surely payoff... All the best for your new ventures👍✌️
Hi Zdenka, thank u for sharing ur views, tips and experiences in these videos. I have been following your vdos for a while now and this one is my favourite cos even I had a chance to shoot one of my friend’s sister’s wedding and the amount of “respect” we receive is what we need to look at as well. It should always be a “give respect and take respect” policy which ppl fail to give us. Looking forward for ur blogs and all the best for whatever u do👍🏻
I'm not a wedding photographer but I've done three weddings, I didn't really experience the thing you mentioned. Maybe it's a culture thing. It's sad you've had to give up something you were good at. I wish you luck in the future.
Thank you very much for your comment. It certainly depends on where you live. Normally small towns are beautiful weddings. Very large cities have different weddings like Toronto.... 😊🎬🎥
Hi Zdenka i love your drive and focus for continuous content creating. Rn now i want to make a video on my channel. Only done a few so far and already running out of ideas but seeing this video ill try my best to keep on going and im so loving this m50. Have a great day
Thank you for your comment. We all have those times when we run out of ideas but then a few days later it will come back to you. Don’t give up keep going. Wishing you best of luck. 😊📸🎬🎥
I love, love, love hearing about your story. I find you super inspiring and thank you for that. I feel like you help with that push to get the work done and that's a big thank you to you!
You have an eye problem? I too. I had a detached retina in my right eye and had to learn to shoot with my left. Slowly getting used to it, but not easy. As for shutterstock.... they’re dead as far as I’m concerned.
The same retina problem here. Many photographers said the same thing just stay away from viewfinder. I only use the screen now I don’t want to use viewfinder again.... Wishing you all the best. 😊🎥📸🎬
Zdenka Darula likewise I hope you have recovered. Did you have the gas-bubble injected as I did? I have a cataract as a result of the operation now, so waiting for that operation. Good luck with your future adventures with RUclips etc.
Thank you very much for your support online courses will be available before Christmas I will be writing the scripts in the summer. I will film them once our kids back at school right now it is simply impossible. Have a great day. 😊📸🎬🎥
I am so sorry to hear all the things new generation is coming with, everywhere. The respect is not there really and I wonder why. On positive note, you have skills, knowledge, experience and reputation and those are rare gem now. I believe you will break new grounds successfully and rock them. :) Best of luck.
Thank you very much for your support and kind words. I see the problem with education these days. As a mom I see how things are done in school these days and how they were done back then when I was at school. We had a respect for teachers. These days kids are ruling and teacher has tied hands. 😊🎥📸🎬
Just spread your connectivity. I would like to join your photography classes. It was a different episode and an eye opener to everyone , I mean the subject of second income is really valuable in current situation. Waiting to hear about photography classes. Good luck
Thank you very much for your support and kind words. I will be working on scripting the courses through the summer. They will be recorded once the kids are back at school right now it is simply impossible. So I’m hoping to release them before Christmas. Have a great day. 😊🎥📸🎬
SS has no future anymore. All creatives will remove their content with those terms of payment. I also did this. I think it's a very big slap in the face for all the contributors.
It is very bad decision by shutterstock but we don’t know the reason behind it... if they cannot effort to keep going... who knows. Lots of people left absolutely. It is time for Pond 5 and Envado marketplace to take over 😉📸🎬🎥😊
@@ZdenkaDarula If SS cannot be profitable SS has to be honest about it. Then contributors can decide for themselves if they still want to contribute to SS or look elsewhere. With the new rules there is only one making profit and that is SS. Contributors will get peanut butter instead of peanuts.
Hello Zdenka!!! Sounds it’s time for you to start charging $10,000 per wedding and put your conditions. Don’t quit weddings at all, just shoot the weddings that are willing to pay for your quality, service and experience!
When I raised my rates last year to try it out of course I didn’t get even one. People simply don’t have money these days. And they know that I can always find cheaper. 🎬🎥😊📸 I’m happy where I am at the moment actually make a lot more than I was making with weddings.
@@ZdenkaDarula My thinking... don't kill the hen. Just rise your prices and don't push the service. Constantly post and talk about wedding photography and share some of your best shots and who ever wants you to cover their wedding will have to pay your quota. I'd like to see more work with people. Portrait photography. Models. I really admire and respect you. I love your channel and content. I have learned a lot from you. Best wishes Zdenka!
Kicking my camera under table looking at it.... moving our backs with gear, had them tossed around, had open bag with lens rolling out.... the list goes 😊🎬🎥📸
I canceled Shatterstock's permission to sell my photos. It's not fair what they did. And I hope many more photographers will do just like me. It might change the situation
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. I haven’t really contributed to the Shutterstock in last year. This is perhaps a good thing to look at pound 5 or Envato marketplace 📸🎥😊🎬
This is the the first time I am watching your video & it is so so good ! It inspired me a lot. Myself Soham Das from India. I have been doing nature photography for almost 4years now & always had a wish to come to youtube platform. This lockdown situation triggered that for me , I created my youtube channel . It is just a scratch now, only one video posted . But your this video gave me a huge content . Can I do a follow-up video taking references from your this video & how this is also relevant to nature photography ...
I stopped shooting weddings 6 or 7 years ago. I shot them for 4 or 5 years and I got burned out. I loved them at the first, but by the end, I had enough nonsense from everyone. I don't know how you stood it for 15 years.
Actually i started seeing your videos cause i bought an M50, im from Mexico an this is not a good bussines wich i can sustain my life but i love to film things, thanks for your videos, an thanks for sharing your knowledge, in Mexico its very expensive to study a career that can support a professional Job, but well, im Just starting.
Very good show as always I also work with Iphones, interviews or image videos where I don't need a zoom. I find Iphones very good when things have to be done quickly. Have a nice day and good health
As a pro who has been in business for 19 years, one must have these two things in order to make a go of a photo business : 1) Have a business acumen (understand P&L, market based pricing, and how to make a professional sales call). 2) Have a niche and think outside the box. Everyone wants to use the internet, and technology and does not think about the BEST way to sell. I actually run 2 very successful photo businesses and sell NOTHING on the internet.
Hiya Zdenka :
I don’t usually make comments in RUclips but after I seen your video about leaving the Wedding business I decide to comment to you . I also was a wedding photographer, and had been for nearly 30 years …!!! Most weddings were between England and Spain …what a fantastic time I had ..!!!..yesss It was hard work but the satisfaction I ( and sometimes money ) was well worth it , but I used to get paid in 2 currencies …one money , of course , but the second currency I used to get paid with was to see the satisfaction I used to see in the smile drawn right across the faces of my clients when I presented them with that lovely Wedding album that I had pend sometimes up to a week working on the design every day ..!! and getting the very best of leathers and paper for it…!!!.
To me that also was part of the whole package …the design and production of the Wedding Album ..!!! ..I used to like even the smell of it ..!!!
That is how much I loved all that business . But I left it about 4 o 5 years ago now …partly for the same reasons as the ones you described , but more importantly because I could see a drift on my new customers expectations …last reason was when the marrying couples did not want the wedding album anymore …they just wanted for me to take their wedding pictures of the day and give it to them in a usb pen or dvd , ect…?? and that they would do the wedding album because they knew of program called “ Wedding Express “ or something like that …jajajaja…
When I realised that that was a raising tendency …that was it for me .!!!!
Anyway …just to let you know that 9 out of the 10 photography and video wedding studios in my area , have closed down , here in Spain that is .
Could tell you loads of other stories , but this SHORT note is beginning to resemble a testament …so I better go…!!! Just to tell you that you are not alone …my decision was taken 5 years ago - 2015 aprox - when I decided to joint ShutterStock..!!! more jajaja!!! …how about that for a parting shot ..ehhh???? ….
Cheeeerrrssss..!!!

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. 😊📸🎬🎥
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and experience…. Many greetings to England… what a beautiful place
hi Zdenka, this was a good move in my opinion, i work as a sacristan in the church,
thats why i fully understand what you mean about the behavior of the guests.
thank you for this beautiful videos an challenges i like it.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts so you know firsthand how it is. 😊📸🎬🎥
Totally agree with you Zdenka. Wedding photography totally destroyed with digital. Everybody, including the guests, is an expert!
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. 🎬🎥😊📸
Amen.. photographed weddings for 25 years, 700+ weddings.. Congrats on stepping away, best thing we have done. Now just overlanding and creating landscape prints for charity! Much more meaningful! Thanks for a great video.. love hearing our your history and advice!
Thank you very much for sharing your story…. So many years in wedding industry? Wow that is lots of weddings
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and experience. Many greetings back to you. 🎥🎬😊📸
Keep up the good work and greetings from France 🇫🇷👍🏻
Dekuji moc. Snazim se. Nekdy to jde samo jindy to taham jako z chlupate deky... moc zdravim! 😊🎬🎥📸
Happy day Ms.!!!!! Hope all is well!!! You really have a gift for teaching people!!!! Wonderful!!!!!!... :)
Thank you very much for your support and kind words. Awesome day as well. 🎬🎥😊📸
Hello Mrs Zdenka ! I have just come across your channel. Lovely channel
Thank you very much for your support. Hello back 😊🎬🎥📸
Things are changing so rapidly.
@@ZdenkaDarula You are an amazing and talented woman!
Thank you very much for sharing your story. Wishing you all the best. 🎬😊🎥📸
And that’s how it should really be done. 🎥🎬😊📸
Let me know when you will start the photography classes, I will sign up right away, I want to become a better photographer 🙂
Thank you very much. I’m going to start preparing the scripts and filming them most likely in September. Right now when the kids are home it’s just simply impossible. It is hard enough to make those RUclips videos with them being around. So I should be sometimes before Christmas. Thank you very much again. 😊📸🎬🎥
There is a page called Domestica is like Skillshare, you would do awesome as photography teacher 😁
I covered three weddings last month. Weddings and photography are here to stay - from grandiose to the discrete.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts 😊🎬🎥📸
Thank you very much for sharing your story and staying humble. Wishing all the best
Interesting video.
You emphasize a lot of critical points which I very much can relate to and why I turned my back on wedding photograhy a couple of years ago.
So, I know what you're talking about.
Thanks for the advice by the way.
You’re very welcome. Wedding industry is not for everybody and it’s not easy. 🎬😊🎥📸
@@ZdenkaDarula They are certainly easy to carry around. I guess it's one of those the best camera is the one you have with you things. 😁
Thanks
Yes there is a difference. You won’t drain your phone battery and the light is way stronger
@@ZdenkaDarula Thanks so much Zdenka!! ;-) By the way, your content is pure gold! You explain things so well… THANKS!!! ;-)
Totally agree with you and your honest and truthful experience in wedding photography and the market as a whole in Toronto.
Thank you very much... I guess you’re from Toronto too...
Thank you for the shoutout! And YES to diversifying. I can see you are doing that wonderfully! :) Great video 🙂
Nicole Glass !!!!!!!!! I love your channel !
She is awesome
Thank you Nicole... you never know these days... you have to have more income rather then just 1
@@ZdenkaDarula Your channel is pretty awesome too, that's why i was watching your video !!!! I am disappointed with Shutterstock :(
Informative and truthful as always. Personally shot some ceremonies similar to weddings and found them fulfilling yet stressful and draining.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. 😊🎥📸🎬
Thanks for the detailed decission update ☺️ it was nice (as usual) sitting listening to you feeding our knowledge.. Ahoj
Ahoj back 😉 Thank you very much for your support. 😊📸🎬🎥
Really glad I have found your channel. Loved the video and the way you approach working as a photographer in 2020. Have you had any experience working through Shutterstock Contributer program? Also, hi from London ^^
Thank you very much for your support. Yes I’m going to be at the shutter stock for 15 years. I also contributes to other stock agencies though. 🎬🎥📸😊
This was so interesting! Thanks so much for sharing!
You are very welcome
Ive always wondered about working as a wedding photographer. So glad you did a video on this. Thanks!!
You’re very welcome it’s a lovely job if you can handle all that. 🎥🎬😊📸
Pls. suggest, If we take a video and moving from bright sunny area to Indore or darker area, Camera trying to adjust the light or white balance, how can we avoid and make a fixed white balance irrespective I am filming anywhere Presently I am using EOS M50
You have to film and manual mode and select everything manually. Automatic mobile always give you all these changes. 🎥🎬😊📸
Very well said many greetings. 🎬🎥📸😊
can you show a screen shot of the v-maker app icon, i can't seem to find it, thank you..
It should be only available on Apple. 😊🎬🎥📸
very difficult to compete with young photographers, now I become a freelance photographer & cameramen after 13 years of owning my photography business. now I learn from zero again not the way I take pictures, but the way I process photos and videos, the style of the marriage world has changed, in the past, to display video editing or photo clips, we need a laptop, now with a smartphone we can edit faster.
Thank you very much for sharing your story. Wishing you all the best!
@@ZdenkaDarula Thank you so much 🙏🤗
You’ve inspired me to do a response or reaction video to your video to go over a lot of the issues you talked about with the wedding industry and how to change the mindset with the ever evolving industry.
Thank you very much for your support I’m glad. this video helped. 😊🎬🎥📸
Camera metering and kelvin settings is always necessary to change different times photo shoot?
Sorry I know entirely sure what you’re asking... But yes you need to change your settings depending on what you shoot 😊🎥📸
I love all your videos. The information is priceless. Thanks
You’re very welcome. I’m glad you like the videos. 😊🎥📸🎬
So, speaking of submitting a video clip to stock....you don’t submit the video with sound...isn’t that correct? So, what do you use to edit your video for stock? How do you go about color correction?
You have to use program like Adobe Premier Pro or any other video editing program to edit the clip. 😊🎥📸🎬
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and thank you very much for your support. 🎥🎬😊📸
Thank you really great to how explain for as beginner photographer to take over slowly،
You’re very welcome. Wishing you best of luck. 😊📸🎥🎬
Zdenka Darula. . I perfectly understand what you said when it comes to photographing weddings. But you can solve this problem in a very simple way, and earn some money, without major worries, You will be doing less weddings. Here in Portugal the Problem is similar, and simple to solve, but everything depends on you and the way you Organize things,
Thank you very much for sharing our thoughts. I’m way happier to be on RUclips. 🎥😊📸🎬
I think Shutterstock's new payment schedule and annual reset will find them wanting for contributors. People will find alternatives, or their new policy will create new competition for stock photography. Good show
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. We will see how things will unfold. 😊🎬🎥📸
I have never seen such good presentation. Good luck for all your ventures
Thank you very much. 🎬😊🎥📸
This is so me. I applaud your stance on the points of professional ethics which is so lacking in the industry.
Zdenka Darula I agree a definite change this last 2 to 3 years and not for the better.
Really, this video shows your feelings. We are also facing same problem and I m from India.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. Many greetings to India. 😊📸🎬🎥

I really admire and respect you. I love your channel and content. I have learned a lot from you.

You said one word "respect", you're absolutely right most young people have no idea what that means.
That’s a sad truth of 2020. 😊📸🎬🎥
This was great insight. Thanks much!
You’re very welcome. 😊📸🎬🎥
Just to clarify, did you say, a person "kicked" or "took" your camera?
Kicking my camera under table looking at it.... moving our backs with gear, had them tossed around, had open bag with lens rolling out.... the list goes 😊🎬🎥📸
I canceled Shatterstock's permission to sell my photos. It's not fair what they did. And I hope many more photographers will do just like me. It might change the situation
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. I haven’t really contributed to the Shutterstock in last year. This is perhaps a good thing to look at pound 5 or Envato marketplace 📸🎥😊🎬
A different content in each of your videos!! 👏👏
I try.... Not always easy but I try. Thank you very much. 😊📸🎬🎥
Great video!!!

Absolutely.... enjoy the process and best of luck 😊🎬🎥📸
@@ZdenkaDarula thanks a lot mam
I stopped shooting weddings 6 or 7 years ago. I shot them for 4 or 5 years and I got burned out. I loved them at the first, but by the end, I had enough nonsense from everyone. I don't know how you stood it for 15 years.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. When you need to bring money in he just do it. That is how I did it. 😊🎥📸🎬

Practice daily study daily. No other secrets to it. 😊🎥📸🎬
Very good show as always
I also work with Iphones, interviews or image videos where I don't need a zoom. I find Iphones very good when things have to be done quickly.
Have a nice day and good health
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. I certainly like iPhone for filming outdoors. I don’t like it indoors as much. 😊🎬🎥📸

That is too bad. Many greetings back to you. 😊📸🎥🎬
As a pro who has been in business for 19 years, one must have these two things in order to make a go of a photo business :
1) Have a business acumen (understand P&L, market based pricing, and how to make a professional sales call).
2) Have a niche and think outside the box. Everyone wants to use the internet, and technology and does not think about the BEST way to sell. I actually run 2 very successful photo businesses and sell NOTHING on the internet.
Absolutely agreed you need to be a business person not so much an artist. 😊🎬🎥📸
