Y’all will be proud to hear that after nearly a year of intense practice and dedication, sometimes hours per day… I have finally mastered the kickstand pivot!🙌
Yes, I had a 125X but foolishly traded it for a KTM and all the TPI issues that came with it. Maybe I’ll get the 250x next time! And with Brads freight train kit! Of course...
@@xzx_falcon7784 i mean it definitely would be a sick ass bike but other than it being cool, i wouldn’t say it be the best, it definitely would work though, so if that’s your only option and you like 2 strokes i’d go for it
@@xzx_falcon7784 your not gonna be in the powerband often though especially if your doing single track, so i would get another premix that’s ratio is higher like 40:1 or even 60:1, MAKE SURE ITS THE RIGHT OIL and it says what ratio to use on the bike, you don’t wanna get yamalube that’s suppose to run at 32:1 but run it at 60:1. I have a kx100 that i run at 60:1 because i do single track and not always in the powerband, i get like 3 months out of the spark plug but only ride once every 2 weeks
Don't forget the stoppie turn! Stoppie plus a little lateral rotation can have you landing the rear wheel 180 degrees and ready to rip straight back where you came from!
lol, yeah a kickstand that can't do that should be replaced immediately. I actually have not tried this maneuver, but use the kickstand a lot to tilt my bike over to check how my front or back tire is spinning, freely or jammed up at all.
Great video! For technique #1 it’s usually a good idea to check what’s behind you, so that your buddy or some random quad doesn’t think you’re pulling over to let them pass and t-bone you :) Pretty obvious, but happens more than one’d think!
Video turned out amazing, like the fishhook. I usually use a combo of baby pivots and the fish hook to get turned around when I get stuck on a hill climb. The kickstand turn also got me out of a very bad situation. Was on a solo camping trip and got burried in some mud in the middle of nowhere. After lots of digging I managed to break get the front wheel out using the kickstand turn, definitely bent the frame tabs a bit but better than walking out.
@@rocketracing3852 alot of people say they like 2 strokes better because they grew up on them, are cheaper to fix, sound cooler etc. But the truth is unless you got a KTM or husky four strokes are more comfortable, easier to ride (which makes it more fun) and are far More developed in technology with that being said as much as I love 2 strokes if I had to pick a new bike today personally I would pick a 4 stroke it's really a better bike when you read about it not to mention when you're on one (for me at least)
When it comes to training new riders the U turn exercise is always a make or break for them, I see it all the time where people will balance the clutch and throttle but totally forget about dragging the rear brake a touch. Just gives the rider so much more balance and control and allows the rider to keep the speed of the manoeuvre much more consistent
I agree, drag that back brake a bit if you can, also for a full-lock turn, I'll (sometimes, not always, depending on situation) use 2nd and do a bit of clutching to keep the motor from dying, 1st gear can sometimes be way too flicky, causing the bike to lurch back and forth unevenly.
Great display of technique. You are quite skilled. I like doing the floater, but it doesn't always work out. The last time I tried it was on a 1972 Honda XL 250. It was not successful, but it was fun laughing at myself after falling off the bike without injury. BTW, you should try the standing donut turn. It is similar to the foot down, it's just that you push on the peg instead of putting your foot down. You let the bike start to fall a bit, then dump the clutch. It's a little counter intuitive, but I am sure you can pull it off. You're good! 🙂
Thanks you so much for the advise I just got a Honda xr 250 and it’s an 87 I got it a year ago and I am 12 also I have been needing these extra tips lately thank you so much! Keep up the great work
Way 9: Call somebody with a chopper, tie the bike to a rope which is also connected to the chopper, tell the pilot to fly like 1m higher and turn a few degrees boom ez turn
This is exactly what I have been looking for!! Thank you!! Always wanted to do a quick pivot turn but never could haha wasn’t leaning the bike enough I guess
These are cool tips. I have a WR450F and I am only 170 cm tall and a beginer. To master the Pivot Turn would of course be the coolest, but at my height with the weight of the WR450F?
I have a brand new yz250x 2017 (was on sale), I'm amaterur rider, most times I ride at 1/4+ throttle, and my spark plug get flooded, what spark model, main jet, pilot jet, jet needle (postiion) and powet jet do you recommend me???? - Nice video Thanks
I’ve mastered the hop off- walk it- hop on. Can only be performed when no one is watching
haha same
I've mastered the 20 point turn. 🙂
Lmaoo
Same
Cool i mastered the 30 yesterday
Yeah that one was the easiest for me 😂
@@The_Shape1978 no duh

Nice bro, proud of you!
I will regrow my expensive Spanish moss yard.. but this video will live on forever
I’m so confused
In the words of Russell Westbrook, "bro what? what are you talking about bro? Y'all trippin"
6:40 when you started the bike will it was still on the rear wheel that was awesome
So cool that you’re doing all the hard enduro stuff on a YZ! Obviously a very capable bike, you don’t need to go Orange.
i think it’s like a yz250x or yz125x, those are the enduro bikes

I'm a fan of the power donut. It's easier on those short legs of mine.
Mmmmmm. Donuts. Now I’m hungry
Blackhawks forever!!!
Just grow longer legs.
I have used many of these over the years, but the foot down donut is my turn around of choice.
I try to be versatile & learn as many as I can
I dont have a dirtbike, but a baja minibike rather, however this video still helps a lot.
Brad, great video! Useful for beginners up to seasoned veterans! Keep em coming!
That balanced kick start lol. Crazy skills.

Great and clear opinions, thanks for the pros and cons and making me stick to my 125cc it's a fun bike but I'm a heavy guy and stay off some beers!
Lol I've had so many of those stare at the camera moments and retry.
I tried the kick stand method on my Husaberg. I ended up needing a new stand 😂 not built as solid as the one on my Yamaha 👌
😅😅
good thing our yamaha DT is street legal,
its stand has a great foundation to hold the weight
@@endurofan9854 Cool! I've only got a 50cc 05 Yamaha DT but I like to do light enduro on it as well.
I might try some of these techniques on my cruiser. Our "on-roads" often look like off-roads. Cheers from northern Slovakia!
This video is soooooo goooood!! 🤘😎 I can't wait for the rest of the series. Thanks for all your efforts to help others progress. 🤗
You’re a cute dog.

My favorite is number 2, the kickstand pivot. Comes in handy on a heavy bike and narrow road downhill.

I’ve ridden trails a bit. But you make this look effortless. In reality by this point, I’m absolutely f’n exhausted.

Yes, and critically important for hwy riding,
parking lots etc, EXTRA critical.
Me watching.
Also me not having a dirt bike 🤣
That fish hook though 😳
This is a great video Brad, keep em coming, good format very helpful and to the point. You rock!
I always use the foot down donut if possible

now i want to pick up my bike, thing is though its a 4 stroke things gonna be heavy asf
Maybe like a 15-20lb difference
yea i can hardly lift the rear wheel on my yz250f
2 strokes sound way better than 4 strokes

The 4th one should be called the reverse J turn cuz that’s what it is 😂😂 Love your vids 👍🏼
this is abslutely brilliant! no bullshit, no tiktok and all that (excep the intro). I am saving this video for my kids. thanks man!
foot down doughnut and pivot turn are the best!
Brilliant video bro! Very useful to know 💯👍🏼
My first video on your channel and it's a lot informative video😊lot's of love and support all the way from Nepal 😍
That fishhook was smoooooth! I’m gonna implement that after practicing the roll up first. The roll up seems to be a baby fishhook. Siick
Can';t wait to see that floater mastered! already looking great. Thanks for the great video

Great video! I normally just wait to fall and then turn around
That’s a good way of doing it
#3 for sure! Tons of ways to do it and is great in tight spots... dont dig a hole!
The fishhook is like bmx getting out of rolling backwards without hopping out
Great skills, great video! The roll-up is the only thing I can do with my 600 lb adventure bike.
YES! More of this! Awesome work I’m gonna go try these.
Well done. thanks for the content. Cheers from Oz

Excellent riding and tips. I just subscribed.
Love it 👍🏻
is your van still running? And have you improved it any further?
He turned it off for 'this' video.
I love the power donut and am riding a yz85 and I have started to learn the step pivot and want to learn the full pivot
Never heard of the kickstand might have to try it when the snow melts😂
I learned this from a street bike rider
I always do this in the shop when I’m just moving it
owen smith
its commonly used at the cities
@@bryson1992 Yep, its pretty much the only one out of these thats applicable to street bikes so its used a lot.
