A few of you have asked for an #iracing tier list looking at circuits, to go with the one's we've done on cars... so here goes...it isn't quite a tier list, but here are my ranks for every road racing track in iRacing!

I've raced all the track you didn't rank so I have some insight. Magny Cours is very good and has variety in its different sectors. It is still my favourite track to host the French GP. Oschersleben has a couple of tricky little parts, but it's not the most fun to race. Fuji has two really good sectors, but sector 3 is tedious and has no overtaking. Chicago is decent and a little tricky, but is very American with its 90 degree turns. Detroit is up there for me as all time great street track with fast and slow sections and two great overtaking spots with a sketchy 3rd overtaking spot. Twin Ring Motegi is one of the GOATs IMO. Its very fun with some variety, a couple of tricky spots and some good overtaking spots. Homestead Miami is decent, but there are better rovals. That said, it's an excellent oval.

Ah this is amazing - thanks Nick! I’ll pin the comment so others can see too!

I love Magny Cours. One of my top 3 tracks on iRacing (and simracing) so far. Good flow until you hit the last chicane (btw, even if people hates it, I love that chicane, I feel it gives the track personality), good points to overtake and the layout, as you said, has variety over all the track. I love it.

Great list. Personally I'd replace WillowSprings with Road Atlanta. Personal opinion of course but definitely a great list compiled. Thank you La Broca!

I'm SO glad you gave high marks to Watkins Glen! (Admittedly, that was my main drive for watching this video.) Watkins Glen is my all-time favorite track, particularly in the Bus-Stop-No-Boot layout, even topping all "oval" tracks for me, and NASCAR is running it on my birthday tomorrow. XD Also, really glad you didn't end up putting Nordschleife as the best. Suzuka's a really great circuit. Honestly, great list/ranking all around.

Ha I genuinely didn’t know how the rankings would turn out! But yeah I’ve done a race aaaages ago using the 2021 DTM cars at that oval like Watkins Layout and it was amazing!

Ah man where is the VIR love?! Such a massively underrated track and it is an absolute pleasure to not only drive, but also to race. Some of my best races ever on iRacing have been at VIR

Hehe I suck at it 😔 No but really it is a great track to drive for sure

This may be a much longer video for me. I would watch an hour long video about this. Nice one! I really like your content!

Great video, and I think another factor is what car your driving. For instance, a GT3 drives very differently for an MX5. Road racing wise I'm usually either in a GT3 or NASCAR Cup car. So for me, the overall best iRacing track is Sebring (I just really enjoy the track it iRacing have the best version), followed by Watkins Glen and with Motorland Aragon (which surprises me, because its a track I'd never heard over before its iRacing release). Special mention also for Sonoma and Long Beach.

Thanks Sam! Definitely re car choice - and great pick in terms of Sebring, I love it there too.

Its interesting that you mention Motegi as a track you dont know much about. I posted on Reddit this week about that being a bit of a hidden gem and a track which massive underrated possibly through lack of use.
F3 was there last season and it was outstanding to race on. A couple of long straights, nice variety in corners and big gravel traps so that if something went wrong you were penalised but not destroyed.
If it appears in any of the series you're looking to race in next season, I'd highly recommend it.

I'll agree on Suzuka. Detroit Belle Isle is definitely the best street circuit. Sadly it's not used IRL anymore. For worst tracks I'd go with Oulton Park. Not fun to drive and it's usually carnage

Great video. I agree about Suzuka - when I first got it I hated it. I just couldn’t get into a rhythm with it. But after much practice it suddenly just clicked and now I Love it.

Interesting take on your preferred circuits. I don't agree entirely with your opinion on either top/bottom circuit but if I was going to group circuits in tiers then Suzuka would be in the top bracket and Summit Point in the bottom bracket. The only one I hard disagree on is Knockhill, however that is from driving it in rFactor 2 and many older sims so that might not count 😅

Haha I own a lot of them, but I didn’t buy any new tracks for this, just drew on my experience of having raced them in other titles like RaceRoom and AMS 2!

Such a shame you haven't raced a lot on Magny-Cours and Oschersleben, two very good tracks and Magny-Cours is even pretty iconic. I'm a bit annoyed by the way iRacing scheduling works with so much of the same 5 American tracks while there are so many gems like Magny-Cours, Jerez, Hungaroring, Zolder, Motegi or Aragon

  • @JimEXP_

I don’t like many tracks, but to label Indianapolis road course iconic is definitely a stretch. The road course seems like an afterthought. The speedway is iconic but the road course isn’t very fun to drive, and one of the few tracks I dislike.

Before entered ACC and iracing I was a F1 guy, besides all those real life F1 tracks I would say laguna seca. Watkins glen, Virginia, hockenheim and mugello are pretty unique and well designed tracks. But my brother I do hate Suzuka so much even driving with MercedesW13, 15$ for that I prefer to play NFS or Forza😂

  • @IanWitham27

I wouldn’t put Suzuka top, that said, it would feature highly in the ‘drive’ tracks, maybe it’s because I have high expectations the races should be great too. Silverstone and Sebring wouldn’t make top 10 for me, honestly it’s not because I have a thing about circuits beginning with S! I’ve said all this and now can’t decide on my number 1 😂. More importantly great video! 👍

Suzuka is a great track to hotlap but as far as racing in most cars passing is nearly impossible without some kind of high risk move, a serious pace advantage or the other person being a bit of a pushover.

Well, Suzuka is good, but I wouldn't put it top. Close to impossible to overtake cars. I've been stuck in the train so many times there.

It’s a skill issue Christian! You’re driving with too many highly skilled drivers - join a few daily lobbies and opportunities to overtake appear all over the place! 😂
