He was one of the overlooked musical treasures. Rest in peace.

Passion and blues
One of the best! The music lives on thanks to Kingfish.
What a musician and human being we lost. His music is so powerfull ! Thank you Sir !
Was privileged to meet this guy several times and see him play more times then I can count and he was by far the most humble and genuine performer I’ve ever met, he put his all into every show and is such a loss, he had everything and deserved to be much more well known then he is
RIP Mike....you were gone before I discovered you but your tracks will rock my system as long my own pulse keeps ticking!
you would have loved him because he was such a regular guy with a heart for his fans.
Same Mike Lee. Was telling a blues buddy I need to see this guy... yea that would be great. But impossible! Why? He's dead. Was like wtf dude could Jam!
Everybody listen to Ozzy anyway Stevie Ray Vaughan all of them this man is ready to top rest in peace Michael iron Man Burks. In the words of Stevie Ray all the love you sent my way
This man was incredible! I saw him once. I think I was struck by his music like a lightning bolt! Got my pic with him. He was so nice and friendly. RIP bluesman you were great!
I was in jail when he came around, then he passed this last year before was able to see. He got me out of alot of trouble to say the least. Favorite blues player of all time. All time.
Playing from the heart, feel, tone = brilliant guitar playing = Michael "Iron Man" Burks RIP
Happiest Drummer ever! What a dude! Killer song too! Thanks for posting :)
One of the very best for sure. So addicting to watch and listen to. Iron Man!
Iron Man Mike makes my top 5 guitarists of all time.
Of all the concerts ihave seen Michael was always the best live show, He plays with such intensity. He played nonstop for 2 hours with sweat pouring off him, came to our table for a solo, the best. He stacks up to Gary Moore and Walter Trout.
Kimberly Milam
True he played a lot at my brothers club everybody lived hin
I've been doing this song for decades... and after I heard this rendition... I changed my way of performing it... Michael Tears it up. Proper.

The minute I saw Michael Burks I knew that this was the real deal. I miss him soooo much. He was the best. The only comparison I can even make is Albert King and that does neither justice. Damn.
Smile Popcorn! You's a crazy man!....RIP Michael.
MICHAEL BURKS, great player, singer and man, never got the recognition he deserved!!!

Wow..that Song, that guitar sound, that voice.. just awesome! no more to say. RIP - i hope someday we can travel in time to enjoy that music live!
I can't believe all the years I spent at my grandmother's place in Magnolia, Arkansas with guitar in tow, meanwhile Michael Burks was just down the road in Camden playing red hot blues. I could have easily gone over there to met him.
Pure fire in the soul. And man he makes that Dr. Z amp smoke! Such a shame, gone so soon...

Wonderful...full of passion playing homage to the great Free and the one and only Paul Kossoff

Well I am a huge Free fan, I must say this is the first version of this song I have seen performed by someone else and it is an excellent version. Sadly another great player I will never see. R.I.P. Sir.
Great song by a great bluesman-RIP.
I used to visit my grandmother in a town just down the road from where Michael lived. I was a young guitar student at the time. What a shame it is that I never knew he was around those pine tree covered parts of Arkansas.
R.I.P. .... Michael
I had the great honour to oper his performance at Mercogliano Music Festival (Italy) in 2011.

It's not Burks but check out Christione "Kingfish: Ingram's cover of 'Empty Promises'. Won't be disappointed.
Enfin de la relève, tant attendu, un bluesman noir digne successeur des "Kings of the blues"
My new Favorite! :D
Great song!
Brilliant powerful playing.. a great tribute to a great song.. One of my top ten guitarists
just flat out kicks ass!
I have missed this giant of a bluesman till paul jones show radio 2.
michael burks is een van s,werelds beste beste gitaristen der no
Wow, soulful!
Love the original by Free and I love this live version by MB as well - wish the track was available as a good quality download to go on my ipod alongside the albums. His tone on this reminds me of Leslie West who I could imagine also covering this. MB is a great guitarist/Bluesman and a massive loss to the music.
goodpull it ison one of his cds. Not live but also very good.
Never seen a guy take a solo like that Really is inspiring,,,,,,,
4:00 to 4:09 WOW
Now that's the way a Paul is suppose to sound,,,,MEAN and NASTY....I once shared the stage with this Band in Vegas. for a benefit..I will never forget that night...This man and his Band Kicked every Bands ass that night...my band too....Cause he is the REAL DEAL...I learned this Fact ,that night...LOUD and Clear...now you can RIP my brother...Cause you KICKED serious ASS ,while you were here..

You will sure be missed my friend...
When I was 8 and 9 years old I hated my brother. My parents had a great big long wooden cabinet AM FM 8-track turntable. My brother would play Black Sabbath and blew the speakers out and I would cry shut it off I hate it. Then years later I did listen to Ozzy everyone did
Hell Yeah!
Fabulouse...great!!!!24k!
