I’ll take the opportunity to remind people that any high quality led light can be used as a “grow light”, and that there is nothing special to a grow light. I don’t doubt the high quality of Soltec and durability of their lights, but they are also very expensive. I just wanted to leave this here as I see a lot of people spend money they can’t afford on those kind of lights, when they could do with something cheaper. This is not a comment against your video or content Nic, long time follower and love what you do.
For sure!! These are just much more esthetically pleasing & don't get hot to the touch like other bulbs can. A regular bulb can't be dimmed either, which is a feature I enjoy with better quality lights!! I've also noticed that good quality ones with a nice soft light, really help my plants thrive!! ❤
After looking at their own specs on the website I do doubt their quality... That 1ft led bar only uses 11 watts and outputs 976 lumen, for an outrageous price. You can easily find a pair of 2ft led lights running on 24 watts outputting over 2400 lumen each for a quarter of that price.
its a rip off. and the whole plant youtube community killed the industry and took it back to pre-covid numbers. Even alot of costa farms plants are only half of what they use to give.
This was so helpful…I’ve been looking at SolTech lights and really appreciate seeing the options and hearing/seeing how you use them to help determine what would be best for my plants!!
I love those lights but they are not in my budget, unfortunately. I have had great success with inexpensive LED and even T5 fluorescents (use them in my basement veggie garden) lights. There isn't even any need to buy "grow-specific" lighting---I have always chosen my plant lights simply by their Kelvin rating, using 4000K-6000K lighting and I also choose fixtures that fit nicely into my home. Easy to do when you use Kelvin ratings, and my plants absolutely love what I'm doing so, although I am tempted by the SolTech lights, my budget and success with less expensive lighting will keep me from buying them.
I love these lights. I use the Vita grow lights only. had so many pendent lights in my home from using the old hospital bright grow lights I purchased from the big box stores. I started using them last year when you first introduced them to me. thanks 😊
I just got a highland track light with 3 lights narrow in white for my new grow wall I’m making…was so easy to install! Now I want 2 more for the other rooms in my house 😁
Hi Nick. I actually have all four of these lights. I had to spread out the purchases over time, wait for special offers, and be patient. Yes, they are definitely an investment so it has taken me a while to get them. They do provide wonderful light and look nice while doing so. Obviously the quality of light is the most important feature, but they are esthetically pleasing as well.
Love the video. Im loving the versatile as a more budget friendly option and i can put it in multiple fixtures is a plus. Unfortunately still to much for my budget. I need more bang for the buck. So i will keep saving for it. My eyes grew wide as i thought where can i put these. Lol. Ty Nick. Have a great day!!
Thanks Nick for the great video it answered all the questions I’ve wondered about. Definitely saving up to purchase one of these versus cheaper ones that I’m not to impressed with.
I have watched so many videos reviewing their track light system and I have NEVER seen anyone shown how much you can move them around! If I wasn't already sold on these, that would get me! The apartment I'm looking at already has a track system installed so fingers crossed. 👀
When they put out the limited forest green Apsect light, I thought that was so awesome. I didn't really need another light so didn't buy one, but love the color! I do also have the new Grove light and I really love it. I want another one but have to wait until I have more disposable cash. They are a bit pricey. I kinda wish Soltech would make the timer an option. I'm using other timers so I really don't need that timer and it's sort of a waste. A bit off-topic, originally I thought app-controlled timers were total overkill but I got a Kasa power bar for Christmas and I'm hooked now.
These are some stylish lights. I like the aspect lights, but wish the bar lights were flat on the back instead of rounded, the profile is a bit thick. I like that the individual bulb has a wide and narrow beam option. That's good thinking. 😎
So much to unpack here! Long time viewer, stopped a while back but saw a video and checked out your new stuff. First, I own Soltech, 12 highlands, 4 large aspect, 2 small aspect, 2 vitas. Are they expensive, yup. Is there comparable products out there? Yup. I use some Home Depot track lights that have near similar specs to the highland at a fraction of the cost. They work beautifully. All the soltech lights are great. I take issue with two things - the large aspect light is advertised as 40w. However, if you open up that black box, you will find a 35w ballast. Meaning, the 40w aspect isn’t 40w. I inquired about this and was told something along the lines of it wasn’t available due to supply chain or wouldn’t fit. I told them they should really update their website to state this. Is this still going on? Are they going to refund customers who didn’t get what they paid for or replace their item with the correct wattage? Inquiring minds want to know. My final comment is for you Nick. You have a tell with your eyes that’s terrible when it comes to advertising products. All someone has to do is look at your eyes and facial expressions and see even you aren’t convinced of what you’re saying. It’s like someone is forcing you to say these things and it’s not coming across well. Watch your video and tell me you’d believe anything you were saying. Let’s see if this comment lasts or it gets removed to sweep things under the rug. Full disclosure, my interactions and dealings with Soltech have been great. I cannot complain. :)
I liked when you use the second camera for asides/jokes, otherwise, it’s pretty jarring/unexpected when the video cuts to it during informative moments.
Did my other comment get deleted for being too critical? Even the 1ft led strip is outrageously overpriced for what it is with questionable design choices (i.e frosted light diffuser) and the actual specs aren't even discussed in this video/ad. The gimmicky magnets and touch function are doing nothing for your plants...
these youtubers killed the whole industry, I think its back to pre-covid numbers. I don't even thing costa farms sells most of their plants on amazon anymore and alot of their plants for sale are smaller than what they use to give. most of the grow light companies and most of these youtuber plant shop start ups. all went under. Turned into a rich persons hobby now. Absolutely outrageous I even lost a little respect for summer rayne for pushing them. smh.... I use to love a particular sunlite bulb I can't buy anymore. 6500k dimmable 1600 lumen a21 bulb in my fixtures. Alot of the $20 grow lights I liked on amazon are now made by different companies but at least they still around. Basically the ones with those two white square rectangle warm lights on the end are still the best ones on amazon. Have had some going strong for 6 or 7 years now growing big plants 4 and 5 feet high. lol. Those skinny tubed grow lights are all junk. but imagine spending 100s on a "grow light". You can ignore any advice from these people about plants. take it with a grain of salt. All they have is cuttings in their homes for a reason. Probably growing plants for 8 years and doesn't even have on that old.
Wow those lights are expensive. They can keep the aesthetics. I'll stick with the $20 amazon lights that come with the two white rectangles on the ends. The skinny tube like ones that are usually colored are the ones I'd stay away from. They don't last and aren't as bright. But I have to say you youtubers shelling out hundreds for little plants and lights sure killed the industry and took it back to pre-covid numbers. lol I wonder how many of yall had to close up your plant shops. I'm not buying anything unless its from Costa Farms and even they aren't the same anymore.

Love love LOVE Soltech! I have two of their lights and I they are absolutely amazing!
Hi Nick! Appreciate the very informative video on Soltech light. Thank you so much for sharing!

can you come over and install mine because I'm only capable of setting up the ones that clip on to the end of a counter top or window sill lmao...
Ha 😂 sure
Off topic, super excited for another home tour / updated plant tour 🥹💚
Great information Nick, thanks for sharing because I’ve been wanting to check them out!

just ordered a bundle with your code... been wanting some soltech lights for awhile now but you convinced me :) Love your content!

I need these lights when I move!! ❤
Danke für das Video. 😊
Perfect timing, I'm in the market.... Thanx!

You really got me thinking now.....I have an old china hutch....hmmmmm
Now YOU got me thinken!!! A plant hutch!!! Keep us posted!
I know what I want for Mother's Day now! The track lighting would be perfect for my plant room :)
I’m excited for this video, I’m looking at expanding my plant area which would require a grow light
Thank you nickyour so cute
I so love ❤️ 😍 💖 my lighting from them. Im getting more!

And you can propose to me with grow lights any day! That was hilarious.

I bought the Highland system which was a total splurge, but very worth it.
What's life span on these grow lights? Will I need to replace them in a couple of years?
for that price it should last forever. I have some $20 amazon lights that are over 6 years old and probably will go for another 4.

For some reason I thought it was a big company because I know people are ordering it from all over the world :D
I'd love if you could include prices for these kinds of videos!
Discount code did not work for me 😢
Very nice
Any fixture that isn't too narrow.... They don't fit in every socket
I was proposed to with a growlight, 10/10
💪 🧍♂️ love your videos! 😚 keep them coming!

What about hanging on shelves

Looking forward to seeing changes in ‘curating’ plants in your home using SolTech Lighting. Very helpful vid…thank you. 🪴
