It just occurred to me that I'm watching this in the early hours of the morning on a Tuesday night (or Wednesday morning); if I remember rightly Mezzanotte was on the same day back in the 90s, though I was a boy then and had to record it to watch the following morning before school :) Now I can stay up late to watch Italian football, at last!
It was interesting to hear about what life was like on the inside of Foggia football club near the end of the video, I must have missed this episode as a youngster I think. I should have been a regular watcher by then, having discovered FT in early 1993 and becoming quickly hooked, so I probably woke up late or more likely went out to play with friends and regrettably missed this episode (or else I am overconfident in my ability to recall TV programmes, however beloved, from 30+ years ago :)). Zeman sounds like a great coach to play for. Watching the highlights of their attacking play in this video reminds me of how special they were under Zeman.
Bremhe is dead? I hadn't heard! He can't have been that old, what a shame :( Just checked the BBC website, dead at 63 from a heart attack. One of the greats of that mighty West German team.
Inter had a strong start to the season, Schillaci scoring two fine goals in those opening matches and striking the crossbar with a super shot against Cremonese too. Bergkamp also showed promising form, a good link up with Schillaci against Foggia and a super goal against Cremonese. A bit later in the programme we see highlights of South American teams qualifying for USA 94; Colombia thrashed Argentina, but unfortunately for them things didn't go their way in the US the following summer.
The gazzette was a weekly programme ran on the Saturday in the uk, which would review the previous weekends games and European ties and preview the games for that weekend (Sunday)
I'm not sure why there were multiple games per team in this episode, it may have been the case that the previous week or so there hadn't been a programme for some reason and that they were now catching up with all the fixtures.
I remember every Sunday dinner time here in England this was on the telly garaunteed, the golden ages of Italian Football
The quality of football was streets ahead of anything else around this time. I always tuned in on a Sunday afternoon's and watched in awe
The grounds in the main were also miles ahead, how quickly things can change.
Great comment.
This theme tune! 🤩 Loved a Saturday morning's and a game on Sunday's. Pleased these are on RUclips.
Crazy how long ago this was now. Great time to watch Italian football
Best league in the world back then. Where all the big names of the era went to prove themselves.
Henry and Bergkamp failed 😆 🤣 😂
@@ruleyramundo I know I shouldn't feed the troll, but Henry was just a kid and Bergkamp still had good moments with Inter 🤡

Amazing. Thanks. Can’t wait for the late 90s
This WAS the Super League back then imo
Gascoigne was 26 here! Hard living
When 0-0 or 1-0 was thought of as great football 😃

Italian football was even more dominant thN the epl now. Bergamp and laudrop failed there, and came to britain and conqurred it like casaer.
Thanks so much for these uploads. How often were these episodes on? There's so many games involving every club, I'm guessing it wasn't weekly.

Foggia need a comeback 👍
