Hunting Sambar in the Alpine National Park, Victoria, for three days can be an exciting and challenging adventure for outdoor enthusiasts. The park's diverse landscape offers a rich hunting ground for Sambar deer, which are known for their elusive nature and keen senses.
As we set out on hunting expedition, we have been greeted by the breathtaking beauty of the Alpine National Park. The weather was windy, which adds to the thrill and difficulty of the hunt.We have ben well-prepared with appropriate clothing and gear to brave the elements.
Throughout the day, we came across many traces of Sambar deer in the form of tracks, droppings, and signs of their browsing activities. These large deers are highly skilled at navigating through the dense vegetation, making spotting them a challenging yet rewarding experience.
Camping under the starlit sky in the wilderness provide a genuine outdoor experience. Cooking meals over a campfire is a great opportunity to share stories and relish the joy of being in nature.
With renewed energy, next morning we continue the pursuit of the majestic Sambar deer. Their keen senses, especially their excellent hearing and sense of smell, will test your hunting skills. You'll need to be patient, quiet, and stealthy to increase your chances of getting close to them.
The park's natural beauty will undoubtedly be a source of inspiration, even if the deer prove to be elusive. You might encounter other wildlife as well, such as kangaroos, wallabies, and various bird species, enriching your overall experience.
By the third day, we have honed hunting techniques and learned more about the behavior of Sambar deer in the area. The thrill of the hunt keep us motivated, and we eventually came across a prime opportunity to stock a deer.
Successfully harvesting a Sambar deer is a responsible and ethical endeavor that involves ensuring a clean and humane kill. Experienced hunters will know the importance of respecting the natural balance and adhering to local regulations and guidelines.
At the end of three-day adventure, regardless of whether if we have stocked a deer or not,we have forged unforgettable memories of our time in the Alpine National Park. The camaraderie with fellow hunters, camping under the stars, and enjoying the serenity of the wilderness will have made the trip a remarkable and cherished experience. Remember, hunting is not just about the harvest but also about appreciating nature and the thrill of the pursuit.
However, as of my last update in September 2021, hunting Sambar deer was allowed in some parts of the Alpine National Park in Victoria, Australia, during specific hunting seasons. The Victorian Government managed hunting of Sambar deer as part of their deer management program. It's essential to check the most recent regulations and updates from the official Victorian Government websites or the Department of Environment, Land, Water, and Planning (DELWP) to get accurate and up-to-date information on hunting in the Alpine National Park in 2023.
Keep in mind that hunting regulations and policies can change over time, so it's crucial to stay informed about the latest rules and guidelines before planning any hunting activities. Always prioritise safety and responsible hunting practices, following all applicable laws and regulations.
