I just did this upgrade/build since the frame is on sale as well as a bunch of spare parts. I was surprised how much louder this configuration is. Overall an easy build for those who have the spare parts for it!
I built the v2 frame and v3 frame with the same motors and props on both models. The props were mounted correctly but the v3 frame is definitely much louder than the v2. Resonance is the most logical reason I can come up with but idk for sure.
There is a new beginner kit coming out by BETAFPV that I recently reviewed. It is perfect for people who have never flown an FPV drone before. Whenever they launch the product, you'll see my review.
Seems more like the competition was too hot for betafpv. Most have 1404 motors in this class. Many complained about jello on the 95x. Some have it, not all. That was an other reason to upgrade. I wanted the cinelog 25 but now moved on to the babyhawk 2. Prop guards suck, unless you really intend to fly close to people. Just make it heavy and louder.
Apparently this upgrade also removes any trace of JELLO. I never experienced Jello in my vids before the upgrade, but I will say everything certainly looks smooth.
Good video for the upgrade. Now, let's walk it back...Can you tell us about the "batterized"(?) screwdriver? That would be a very cool accessory for my kit. Thanks for the video again.
If you've bougt the original 95X V3 with 1106 and have issues with vibrations and jello, it's possible to get a discount on the 1404 motors. I contacted BetaFPV, and after a few weeks, I got a 50% discount code for the new motors. Just be patient, they're not quick to respond. ;)
It's interesting how many drone experts since the DJI FPV have dealt with the topic as if it were a new breed.But I think DJI has awakened something in us, which has always been like a black spot in the corner of our eyes.And now we experienced drone pilots experience a "completely new way of flying". Although FPV is somehow different, and rightly so. It's something we've ignored for far too long. 😀👍
"Land tha drone!!!" I loved it. Same energy as getting a "Land the got damn plane!" from ATC as a landing clearance in Flight Sim. I was perusing and thinking of building my own first FPV drone, but this really does look like a lighter, cheaper, better digital VTX nugget than I can feasibly put together with aftermarket parts without months of research.
Did you over the fence twice? Once to place your camera at the right angle and then..... Twice to actually get footage of you going over the fence? lol

The current BEST controller on the market (best value for price) is the RADIOMASTER TX16S or the JUMPER T18. You can also find less expensive controllers with the basic features.

What is the flight time compared to the small motors. They should have given a deal on the motors for the people that had bought one from them that had the small motors. I built my own with 1207 motors... Love it!

Hey Captain! Question i got mine today and everyone says i have to buy 450mah but you are flying with 650mah, its fine? I will fly more cinematic so i dont stress the motors haha.
The mAh of a battery is like a fuel tank in your car. The bigger the number the bigger the fuel tank, and the heavier the weight. So, if you use a 450 it is less weight and less flight time. A 650 is more weight and slightly more flight time.
I never touch PIDs on drones. Are you certain your props are on correct? That is the 100 most common mistake I keep seeing people make with this upgrade. Even when they are on wrong, the drone flies, but it has less power and more noisy.
Technology just keeps on coming so pretty much everything you own is out of date by the date you buy it. When you keep that in mind, it does not seem so bad.
Okay, I know this is going to sound lame, But where can an “Old Guy” like me find someone that can help me learn to fly a decent style drone? And Please don’t say any Elementary School. I need to be able to fly over some property (mine) and video it looking for sign of “unwanted visitors “ something is hurting my property and livestock and wildlife. If you buy yourself a CAMERA DRONE (like a DJI, AUTEL, YUNEEC, HUBSAN, FIMI, etc) then you can fly and chew gum at the same time. CAMERA DRONES are 100% designed for beginners and have a GPS chip in them so the drone does all the work flying with little effort on your part.

Problem i see is that you have a time issue. With 30 mins on a battery and 24 hours in a day.... you have to know where and when the unknown events are happening. Perhaps a start would be a bunch of trail cameras first?

I have a couple of friends watching High traffic areas on roadway access and have put trail cameras at what you would think would be logical natural fields of approach. Have even put up a few trip wire activated remote perimeter alarms. What I’m hoping the drone over flight will do is maybe show up some sort of trail(s) system or avenue of ingress/egress that isn’t readily visible from the ground. As a Disabled veteran with some 20 years of experience this isn’t exactly new to me and I guess that’s what‘a so damn frustrating is that I should be able to find something. I even have old Teammates that have offered to come and help, but I don’t think neighbors would like a “Firebase Mustang” sprouting up overnight. It may eventually come to me inviting a “few” old friends over for a few days- but ONLY AS A LAST RESORT!
My upgrade kit came in last week but I haven’t done it yet. I’ve never swapped motors on anything, even though they are plug and play do you need to do any reconfiguration in BL heli ?

@@MrJarrod How the heck did you get a twitch???? The motors are plug and play. Did you do something else in BETAFLIGHT? My PIDs, my RATES are all standard out of the box. If you messed yours up then you'll have to get a DUMP file from BETAFPV and load it back in.

Be certain you have the props on correctly. If on incorrectly, the drone is loud and underpowered.

DJI FPV Goggles can only connect to FPV Drones with a CADDX VISTA or DJI AIR UNIT camera.

I would guess yes, but in my tests I honestly didn't notice too much noticeable difference because I was enjoying the increase speed and upward power.

You are stuck with DJI Batteries and DJI parts. That is the world of DJI.

Depends on the pitch angle. The more props the slower the spin due to air resistance.
