TheHoonigans my ‘99 xj was repossessed shortly after I bought it back in like 2003 - best thing that’s ever happened to me. It triggered a series of life changing events that I am grateful for. I kind of miss that thing though, ha. I’ve been considering picking up another for a beater/daily to save mileage on my ‘17 F250.
bought one of these off a kid on craigslist. v8 swapped "needs a little TLC" pulls up like a fucking demon with the sketchiest XJ ive seen, BELLOWING blue smoke. he says "i didnt have time to put in valve cover gaskets, but if you keep pouring oil in it shes good to go" needless to say i bought that purple POS and had a ton of fun with the large block in it
I had a jeep jointly with my dad and we had done a Perkins swap to it cause that's popular in India and when we took it on the road it was horrible as if all of hells noises were coming form the front diff but it was absolutely as trashy yet capable off it plus its an import here so people love something with American flavor in India More than any thing in India so it was worth it!
I've been running their steering for a year, it isnt expensive and works great. I've also got their Alpha 3 link and transfer case skid plate. Support their company and buy the parts.
You definitely don’t want Brad working on your car, you will most definitely need to redo EVERYTHING he touches. Coming from experience and knowing this dude before he made it on RUclips.
JCR makes killer product. They have a lot of options for the XJ that would totally complete the look. Bunch of cool guys just as crazy as y'all are!!!!
Get some good ass motor mounts. I managed to break mine twice cause that I6 is too good with torque. Driveshaft U joints are also made of paper, (also don't drop the clutch at 4k). Still loved the XJ though. It's perfection in a brick
Loving the build so far guys, only build like it on RUclips that I’ve found. I’m planning to start my own build series for my 96 XJ 5 speed upcountry I’ve named the Kannibal. Keep up the good work
I got the 4.5in re lift and trailforged crossover steering. I've had mine since December and ain't even put 5 miles on it lol. Just been ordering parts and installing when I get a chance. It wasn't really drivable when I got it so there's my excuse. When you lift em you gotta keep moving down the line of weak points/ parts that don't work together and here we go. I gotta say this is my favorite ride I've ever owned and I ain't even used it yet
Love all of the HOON vids. Dream jobs we get to watch and help support. All of y’all are badasses, even the ones reading this. Yes... you. I was so excited to see this Xj on the channel, still waiting for more 🤤. I want to make mine into a little “death trap driftJ”.
I lost a mechanic friend in Afghanistan. I built an xj when I got home and that POS broke down every other block but the damn thing saved me. Now I'm on xj #7. Its made the same year I was and it's a POS too. A real junk yard dog. I wheel the shit out of it daily. When I'm wheeling life is great and nothing else matters. I hand picked this one. 89 4dr 5spd 6inch iorn rock lift SYE some type of locker double cardigan driveshaft yada yada yada. I basically live in it overlander style. Xj for life. Xj is life. If money was no prob then it would be an ultra4 2600 race Jeep. Life goals : Fab shop that makes Jeep bumpers and accessories.
What an awesome day. Gymkhana 10 was rad, really enjoyed gymkhana files. Trailer for avengers endgame omg!!! And got my new hoonigan shirts inthe mail, stylin and profilin.
I could be wrong, only had a short glance at the steering, but that thing is gonna have mad bumpsteer. Trackbar needs to be parallel to the upper steering link. You need to mount the heim for the steering on top on the pitman arm to fix that unless you did an over the axle trackbar pm me for details
cavfab is great, might wanna get the ota track bar they sell to correct the steering geometry between the drag link & track bar, helps avoid the wobbles & bump steer
In the process of pulling the front axle out of my 1997 Jeep Wrangler. It has the identical front end. Thanks for doing some jeep stuff. Jeep owners are a die hard group this will probably grab several new subs. I don't have any good xj stories unfortunately. Plenty of CJ and TJ Stories.
#Keepbradalive Please buy some wheel chocks for the shop, so when Brad is working on stuff like this he's not relying on the park pawl in the transmission. (love the Bradisms/content! Thanks guys)
You are going to want a steering box brace as well. Once you start turning large tires offroad you run a big risk of bending/cracking the from where the steering box is bolted on. Just thought you should know before it happens!
Anyone else watched the nearly 20minutes of absolute amazingness of a video that hoonigan have called gymkhana 10 yet??? If you haven't get Amazon prime now, trust me it's worth it! You can all thank me later 👌💯
Give us your best Jeep XJ story and we might mention it on Twitch. Go!
TheHoonigans once upon a time, there was a smol jeep and a big jeep, the end.
Well I went and ripped mine when it snowed here in oregon and manjeed all the way down the main drag of my town

Glad we could get some steering for you guys. The most popular XJ steering upgrade on the market. Now take that thing and go FULL SEND
Then send me one
Need one for my build, Let's work it out CavFab.

Bad Daddy Braddy: *CrabDab Spearing*
#Bradology
Nelson better double check the torque on all those bolts 😂 #bradology
You know Brad all too well.
@@TheHoonigans Any one who watched the baja vids knows to watch out for his "tourqe-ability"
I like how Brad emphasized tightening the bolts down.
was about to comment that lol
After being publicly shamed in the Baja Scumbug Videos, Brad is all about tightening the bolts! 😂
Yeah, some offroad work. Also looking forward to the Tow-Stallion.
NeverLetOff lol
Hopefully the bolts will be tightend this time around xD
You never really know.
The build is really coming along! Glad we could be a part of it!
I’m not a Jeep guy, but there’s just something about XJ’s 👌🏼
Dat boxy shape
@@TheHoonigans There's a video of a JK Wrangler with an XJ front end PathKiller from SEMA 2016...so nice....
I’m on my 3rd ahaha I’ll always have one

If you like xjs you’d love the Comanches
Loving the Jeep content. I need brad and Dan to come help work on my Jeeps. Got the frame rot of death.
My XJ in a nutshell. But at least its lifted
You definitely don’t want Brad working on your car, you will most definitely need to redo EVERYTHING he touches. Coming from experience and knowing this dude before he made it on RUclips.
Still 200% deathtrap but 1000% hoonigan now
It's what we do best.
Double nut the heim joint bolts, ya donkeys.
Let Hert know he wants a mall crawler lolol
A Jeep that isn't a death trap isn't a jeep

I almost died in my Jeep
i like how when at the end they used the beat to mount sinia by $uicideboy$
They used a Shakewell and Pouya beat in it too!
Isn’t that copyrighting tho
I like how they support satanists but don't say they do
HereTo Observe satanists?
Gotta love some good 'ol wonton steering on an XJ. Full Steer and OTA Trackbar on my poptop camper XJ, wobble no more!
JCR makes killer product. They have a lot of options for the XJ that would totally complete the look. Bunch of cool guys just as crazy as y'all are!!!!
I'm 14 and I've been looking at those for my first vehicle and you guys have given me a bigger reason to want one
Love the front rotors guys
Best part! Brad rapping at the end! OMG Bad Daddy Braddy is one of a kind. Y’all should do “A Beer with Brad” instant gold!
I have that steering on my 98 Xj and I love it
I’m happy to see a build like this. It’s Different, would like to see old trucks get tricked out
Lifted my 99 Cherokee back in 2004 and deathwobble is a thing. I feel your pain Nelson.
JCR makes killer armor, probably my favorite armor I put on my Jeep, when I had it. Good choice on front bumper👌
Nice...I have a white lifted 98 xj myself. Love this thing.

Straight up and to the point, I dig it.
I love the way grandpa breaks shit down, he makes this shit easier than kindergarten math to understand and educate yourself. Full send boysss
Ha! Cheers Trey, you know there is only one way to send it! We Full Send every time.
Nelson is such a good guy, he needs a raise! Love the Jeep!
Nelson is the man.
EG BUILD YESS!! Honda guru loves you big bad Brad daddy.
Those beauty shots have to be Nelson’s and he’s so proud. That was great 👍
Leo Tovar it was! I shot and edited the episode. Thank you 👊
Where’s Baja part two!!!
It's coming!!
BAAAJAAA UPDATE! soon...
Sometimes I see Brad work on things and think I would totally let him work on my car...then I remember all the loose things on the Scumbug lol

Gymkhana 10 was sick, well done guys.
Staff and inspection and garaaaage garaage have to be my favs in that order
Can we talk about gymkhana 10 here? I loved it. Thought of it as a farewell tour. Awesome cameos. So much awesome cars in one!
Well, I would castle bolt the steering. Thats a no brainer.
Thanks for the intro and exit beats. Pouya and the boys
My first car! This project hits home for me. Keep it up Nelson!

Love Brad's rickyisms!
Gym 10 is lit. Also Bad Daddy Brad clearly sacrificed his ability to read and write to become an awesome inspirition to young Hoonigans everywhere :]
Brad at the end with his cool old man antics
You have to be supa cool to be hired by Hoons and this dude is like a movie star now
I even have a feeling that i saw him in a movie back in a days
Love the rear fender flares.
Got to love XJ'S one of my dream suvs and you guys should come to Florida sometime

4:46 when you're steering your aashole (axle) 😂
that's probably why there was an edit cut
I run the same steering and the there alpha 3link system. Awesome products! Keep the jeep vids coming!!!

The 89 Cherokees were always garbage but 98-2001 was the golden years
Needs gears, lockers, and a new rear axle. That Dana 35 is note destined for this world.
A new steering box really help these jeeps, also you can adjust the steering box that helps with play in the steering.
PUPUSAS DADDY,hahahahahhahahah
Im deaddd💀💀 pupusas Is Liiiiife
Double shear those heims on the spindle!
Haven't seen bad daddy brad in forever!!!!!
Damn those wave rotors are fresh!!
Nelson stays wavy
Straight business dudes 💯
Tell Hert not to do that with that Denali it's a bad idea
He should get a 3/4 ton Yukon Denali for a tow stallion for a proper tow stallion
Good episode. I'm about to replace the ball joints on my lifted JK, I got the death wobble going on.
