I couldn't get alexa to do anything other than show me the time and ads. Unplugged. Think I am going to send them to my sister since she is all in with them. I can't stand alexa. I use home assistant for all but one device. Well.. Just a light. Nothing special. If I can't get it into home assistant I don't want it. (other than my tv's since none of them have local anything.) We need to get legislation passed to force option to have local only control. I want to own my devices that I paid for!
I always buy tasmota smart plugs...etc...open source locally controlled and integrated to home assistant and or Alexa if needed!
The east answer is to avoid Yale mate that have smart locks with no physical key access ….
I was thinking of leaving Amazon Prime and this story makes that more likely.
