  • 304 | My walk through the Sri Lankan jungle near Ella, a small tourist town on the island, was aiming at the famous Nine Arch Bridge. The bridge is an iconic railroad bridge--still used today - that is a historic part of the Sri Lankan rail network.

As you swing your camera over the 9-watevar-bridge, the 3sec sight of lush jungle below is like scene in Kipling's Jungle Book. Watta view 👍
Are the couple of foreign 🐥🐓 chicks clambering into the tuk-tuk the same from previous days? Stalking you, intrigued after your shoutout you're an international big-shot in previous video 😂
Speaking of tigers, folks in certain part of S.Asia venture into the jungle wearing imprint of human-faced mask (complete with fierce looking moustache 👺 ) on the back of their head to deter tiger attacks from behind.
But aside from your audible panting, the jungle's eerily quiet; no bird chirping nor load cracking of cicadas. Sad by-product of large scale agricultural industrialization (commercial plantations). Sanitized of all native natural species 😭😭 .... so tigers are least of your worries (cept for the lone broken-lose cow crossing your path 😂

I interpreted the quietness as due to a complete lack of wind, which made the walk one of the sweatiest. It didn't cross my mind until you mentioned it about wildlife sounds. I wasn't ever very far from 'civilization'--it is a tourist area after all--and occasionally I could hear some barking dogs.

last paragraph correction: so tigers = snakes falling down from trees, tigers coming out for lunch (as per IBS) are the least of your worries 😂
