Lovely to see Greg & Sally again, and great to see your friendship warming the trip, even if the boatride was a bit amputated 😃 Thank you for sharing 😊
It’s wonderful that you have such good friends with whom you can enjoy your boating adventures! Enjoy the summer boating season in health, happiness and great weather!
The comment at the end from Marianne had me laughing, that's my sense of humour to a tee. It goes to prove that it doesn't matter the size of the boat, it's all about having a boat. Just being on the water is what it's all about.
I think this video epitomises the very essence of boating especially in the UK. Having the freedom to go wherever you want whenever you feel like it. The sea was in a grumbly mood so head off upstream instead. Good company and not a lot else to do leads to laughter and a good time for all. Why else buy a hole in the water to throw your money into? I love watching your tour videos but seeing how it's done in real time is just as entertaining and educational. Thanks as always guys.
Fantastic! A highlight was the use of the word ‘libation’ which I’ve only ever heard my dad use when he’s cunningly suggesting a cheeky beverage or two. Marvellous !
I do so love SB2 uploads!!!! Thanks for taking us with you and a fantastic buoy pick up from Marianne!!! Great boat control from you Nick and great dry line detaching from buoy from Greg!!!! Have great weekends one and all!
Lovely video Lovely people video love the little jokes and the spirit All crew did a great job with the lines casting of/mooring and going alongside. brilliant maneuver going into the slip Nick . Keep them coming please
One of the movies made of an Agatha Christie book was filmed in her house and the boat house. Peter Ustinov played Hercule Poirot, Brilliant ! Neil from Thailand
Easter boating? Eggs Ackley says it's the thing to do - no matter the weather. I suppose when you shoved off it was a BOAT time. Punny, perhaps. Egg in my beer? Not unless its hard boiled. Thanks for the video easter eggs.
I do hope my fortunes favour me and I get to live the boating life. Until then I'll have to live them vicariously through you. All the best to you all.
There's nothing better than bouncing around on the swell nick but as you've only got a small boat it seems as though you are absorbing more of the waves than you would in a larger craft. Great video of the river and estuary nick on SB2 with your friends.
Another great Smugglers video. I noticed you were berthed bow in. Whereas you were always stern to in Torquay. Do you now vary it to always stem the tide? Or have you decided you prefer the privacy at the stern seating when bow in? Sorry the good old U.K. weather let you down. Sadly a frequent occurrence ! Good move to switch to the Dart to give you all year round boating and the sheltered waters on windy days. Always amazed so many sports boats are open. Lots of canvas but for the U.K. weather ( except last years very exceptional summer!) surely a proper covered helm and saloon with a patio door at the rear is an option more suitable for the U.K.? Especially if heated! Perhaps Smugglers Blues Three could be something like Jeanneau MF895 ( or bigger if budget permits) Offshore version with two engines ( allowing longer passages) Thanks again for including the berthing manoeuvre in you videos!
We had to go stern in at Torquay due to short finger and no spring cleats. Definitely don't want a Merry Fisher, we go boating to be outdoors rather than to stand inside a shed peering out through the windows. 🙂
I laughed my head off at the point you said now for lunch, we got a Big Mac advert and sachets of Whiskas! I wondered which you had? Funny things these cookies.
As you are now based on the Dart. Have you looked for any of the low tide wrecks along the river up towards Totness? Some really interesting ones including the hulk of the original Kingswear Castle. The second of which is now a pleasure cruiser out of Dartmouth with others visible as well. It's well worth a research into the wrecks of the Dart. Thekla, Broadmayne and by Old Mill Creek the wreck of the Mayfly from 1923.
Of course I'm a bit late commenting, but nothing better on a rainy day in Pennsylvania than watching my most favorite channel on RUclips, Madam Marianne and Sir Nick and SB2! Bless you all!!
I really dooo love your videos with Smuglers Blues ❤ So inspiring ❤ I need to brag a little today 😊 I just passed skippers B-license - how on earth I don't know... Have a wonderful weekend ❤ Here on the Åland Islands we cekebrate Vakborg/Vappeb/Vapua together with Finland and Sweden
Nice one Nick for demonstrating that it's perfectly fine to turn back if the conditions aren't favourable, great advice. Let's keep our boating safe and fun folks 👍
The mouth of the Dart is so beautiful, I took a boat trip down the river once and it was stunning, especially going past the castle right on the water. Would a larger boat tempt you out into the bay, say a Princess V39 or Fairline Targa 38 GT, Smugglers Blues III? Both fast boats too, I'm sure Marianne would approve :).
If there was a flaw it would be at 2:17 - let’s hope the neighbors aren’t crazy enough to visit in this weather and go tripping over that haphazardly tossed off stern line. Though I think he made up for it keeping the mooring “line” dry. 😉
@@bugbirdhughes - again the dry mooring line made up for it, haha. I mean you wouldn’t want to be left behind on Easter… sitting on the dock awaiting their return like a Marina Worker to tie them back up! 😅😂🤣
I'm always happy to ride along on SB2! I have to say, you are hardy folk. I think I'd have been tempted to leave the canopies on, from the looks of things. But then, the majority of my boating has been involved with towed watersports, so I tend to have a fair weather perspective. I seem to recall you always docked stern-to before, Nick. Why the switch? Something to do with the river current?
Where I live you are required to have life jackets on board .You don't have to be wearing them. Are you required to were them at all times in a moving boat ln the U K?
Nick, please can i ask you if you would know if i have to pay import tax on a boat i've purchased from Ireland to the uk, 30' 1972. i'm really struggling to find an answer and wondered if you knew? Great video by the way!
Man so glad I don't live in England. Yeah our summers here in Tennessee are flat out miserable at times, but hell at least we get a damn good amount of sunshine 9-10 months of the year. I feel like England is like every day in January here in TN, aka perpetually cloudy, with a chance of rain. If a front moves through that drops the temps then yay snow(maybe ice) but for some reason after the snow there is usually blinding sunlight to melt off that 1-3" we usually get.
Do you have to get permission to park by one of those buoys or can you just turn up? Also all those other boats parked by them how do the people get to shore?
Greg a superstar , love the friendship you both have with sally and Greg.
Can’t resist a pint in the Ferry Boat inn when passing Dittisham. The pink building.
Lovely to see Greg & Sally again, and great to see your friendship warming the trip, even if the boatride was a bit amputated 😃 Thank you for sharing 😊
We had a great day, thank you for your kind comment. 👍
Well that was a fun day out & i mean eating & chatting hope you had a good evening also.
Best way to spend a cooler day than hanging out with friends doing what you love. Enjoying a goid meal or two. Thank you all.
I watched this while I was having my lunch. I do enjoy your yacht tours but your adventures on Smugglers blues are truly amazing. 😊

Despite the less than ideal conditions, a lovely day out. Once again, a lovely produced video. Thank you.

Did look a tad rollerey at the riverfmouth. Is that Spirit 70 motor yacht still moored nearby?
I've not seen it

The boat is so quiet. Really impressed. Do you have special engine compartment isolation, or is it just the basic set-up that makes it so?

@@bugbirdhughes Thanks for that... Nick's too much of a superstar now to be bothered to reply.
What’s the beeping noise I can hear every now and again. It sounds like every time you engage the engine /clutch? Thanks
