My spiritual teacher went through many trials, and tribulations but the patient perseverance he showed gave him gifts that can only be gained through the struggle he went through. I really took this and grabbed the bull by the horn. So although it is hard, to in essence cut myself off from this modern western society, (dating,partying, looking for marriage, etc) I know the that the residuals that will come with this choice will make me sense in the long run

You can have more positive than negative but it goes against the natural function of your brain to only have positive thoughts and you end up living in denial of negatives. To be zen is to detach from all forms of thinking, both positive and negative. Peace cannot be found within any form of polarity.
@@Insight-music What we are really talking about here is energy. You have healthy energy that flows through us and sick energy which causes the negative thoughts. Obviously it's hard to control but easiest way is through healthy body.
