I bought tickets for a festival a few weeks ago (Rock Werchter in Belgium). And today it was announced that Regina is coming to perform there! I couldn't believe it! Regina! In Belgium! I'm from the Netherlands myself and I've been waiting for ages for a chance to see her perform! Aaaah, I'm totally freaking :D

When I first heard her sing I was intrigued by the incredible cuteness radiating from the stage, there was a genuine "puppy-ness" about her performance. After a few minutes of listening I was hooked forever: the intense deep love and genuine wisdom emanating from this "puppy" was really shocking, unexpected mesmerizing and addictive...

Her smile at 7 & 8 seconds in reaction to the audience kicks my butt. Her gums show when she smiles. I've never been so attracted to that in my life (until now:) What are the chances someone this talented is AS beautiful at the same time. I promise you when I say, I loved Regina audio before video. Believe me? :) Of course obsession came after video. :) Come on, who relates, make me feel better
I can't believe she can play like that with her eyes closed! Regina and Imogen heap are my piano idols. It's super hard to find regina sheet music though :(
while i love both dearly, i have to say that i think the acoustic version of this song is so much better. it does so much more justice both regina's voice and the overall emotion of the song. once again, they're both amazing, though.

No problem, I only say this because I was once in your shoes too. Some people "seem" to have problems like when they listen to the remade version of a song FIRST. Eventually, they hear the original version and just can't stand it! E.G.: "Reach Out", sampled by Hilary Duff from "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode (also remade by Marilyn Manson); "Breakaway" by Avril Lavigne, (then Samantha Moore) then Kelly Clarkson; "Smile" (written by Charlie Chaplin) by Nat King" Cole, then Michael Jackson, etc.

I agree that the recorded variables in this video are honestly more justifying than that of the studio recorded put to the video with children...simply because I do not like children. =3
(Con't.)...song different, yet not so unfamiliar while making it also pleasing for her fans to hear. Don't be put off by it too much, it happens to us all. Try and listen to it again, and this time, concentrate specifically on those tiny changes. You won't mind so much if you love the original song and one day, you might even come to like the slightly different version. It does take some getting used to, perhaps one day, you'll go to concerts and see what I'm talking about. Give it a chance. :o)
Perhaps Newsom's voice is not as great as Spektor's but her music is very original and in my opinion way superior to both Regina's and Nellie's. BTW Nellie McKay is going to be a guest on Prairie Home Companion today! check her out, she's really amazing!
