Thanks for sharing and give us a tour of the other one
Is your son the boss. That was a great tour and keep up with the great videos.
Nice setup!
Def need to see the old place as well
Good video Brian
Thanks
Hey Brian u can get clear tin. Its not sheet medal anymore its plastic but it is clear so u will be able to see the grain bins. And I'm sure it would be easier to install then a sliding door.
very nice congratulations, I follow you,
Nice setup
Brain really enjoy your channel and the comedy/ pain in the neck of working with family. Y’all keep up the good work. Personally just love the equipment and have kids that share the same love for all equipment. Watching you helps me to know that they’re more people that want to teach kids dirty hands make clean money and life ain’t always rainbow and butterflies. Keep the great videos coming
Thanks for adding the regrets and advise at the end.
Hey Brian do like we did with our leg we made up tool box with few tools that u can use up there an a old hand pump grease gun so when u need to grease it only have take tube with ya
Have you considered using plexiglass instead of a sliding door for the opening in the dump shed? Easier than sliding a door and cheaper alternative to glass. Could potentially add a sliding or prop up door to cover it for bad weather.
Mount a weathertight tool box up on top of the leg with a set of wrenches in the appropriate sizes for things up there and a grease gun with a couple tubes of grease. Then you only need to remember to buy new tubes of grease and maybe a power tool for jobs one of those wrenches won't do.
Please tour the old facility
Yes - tour the old bin site. Thanks for the content!
Love a tour of the old bin site when you get time
Would like to see old place as well please!!!! Great video!!Hope you have a good harvest.
Yes to a tour of the old site.
One cheap way to MAYBE help with the dust in your dump pit area when loading trucks. Get an empty one ton super sack and attach it to the down spout so its bottom is close to the top of the trailer you are loading. Make a hole in the bottom of the sack same size as your flow of grain. Then have loops of bunge cord around the sack on a few spots. I have seen this done at a facility and it's not perfect but seems to help. Might take some experimenting to get it just right. If you gets something that works well have a tarp shop sew you up something better. Or spend the money on some stratigically placed duct work with exhaust fans.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to put the video together.
Would love to see the old site
Old grain bin tour
thanks!
We put a water proof tool box on top of our 120ft leg to hold a grease gun and anything else you'd want up there. Just an idea for you
Since your don't have a stairway on your wet bin you could put bin flags on the bin so you could see the level of the grain in the bin from the ground.
Brian , Nathan over at Borderviewfarms just installed 4 proximity sensors with led lights up the outside of their wet bin to show the bin level. Shown in several vids. Might your new bin monitoring system provide that info. on your phone maybe?? In a previous comment I suggested closing the doors to help with the dust problem. OOPS, no doors and a missing sidewall, silly me
Brian You did One Hell of a Job explaining how everything works Awesome Job and Video Thank You
Ditto that! 👍
Excellent tour I believe and I think a tour of the other would be good to see where y'all started. I could see y'all setting that bin sight up almost like Larson farms in the future. Have a great week.
James L Coble I think this is his best video to date. Very interesting and informative
Yes! A tour of the old bin site would be awesome!
You could also close that wall with clear polycarbonate and allow for visibility
I was going to say skin the sliding door with it!
Yes definitely would love to see the old site.
You should put pressure switches inside that what bam in your solve your problem how much greens in
Thanks for ths tour. Very good presentation.
Thanks for showing this Brian👍
Nice set up you have😀
Love the video Brian of the Bin tour .
Great video! Please show the other location
If you view Border View Farms videos you will see he put in an excellent set of lights, a system that allows you to see how full your wet bin is as it fluctuates up and down. You could do same now easy b4 you hit harvest in full and not have to run the stairs all the time. Go check it out , it's a cool system he put in.
Do one of the old place 👍
On wet bin put visual sensor lights like Border Farms did on one of their bins. Seems to work well
His video #210 is where he explains sensors, led marker
Lights and voltage. Hope this helps you out
Great tour and explanation for the farmer and non farmer! Looking forward to the 1970s old grain bin storage facility!
Real nice system !!
Great four. Old bin tour would be cool too.
Def need to do a vid on the old site, would help to compare the two.
Thanks for the tour and yes to tour of other facility
Yeah let's see the old site !
Yes, would love to see a tour of the old place.
Great video love see one on the old site 👍👍👍 thanks Brian.
The sliding door is a great idea!
Nice job Brian would like a tour of your old facility enjoy your videos keep up the good work can't wait to see your harvest videos.
Just watched the old grain bin site tour. It's amazing how much tech for grain bins have come
Check out border view farms, he added a light system to his wet bin for fill level. Looks pretty slick
I'd like to see your old set up to compare the 2 please!
Excellent job Brian!! Yes, a tour of the other bin site please. We also have GSI bins, 2 tower dryers. Excellent company and very few problems. We just added a 50,000 bushel bin this spring. We have now 850,000 holding capacity. Thanks for the tour.
WOW !!!!
Hear your pain on checking wet bin level, the guys used to have sensors in our wet bin and different lights would come on for different levels of grain the bin. It's not operational anymore but would be super handy instead of climbing it several times a day.
Hello from Scotland, great video, very interesting. Over here it would be rare to see a on farm grain handling setup with bins, mostly steel framed buildings for on the floor storage. Can be used for machinery or fertiliser etc at other times of the year. Or if farming changes something completely different. Still can be filled using elevators etc after the dryer, or dumped on floor and pushed up. Loading out with a decent loader, or payloader as you guys say, will fill a truck in minutes. All the USA farm youtubers I watch seem to have no end of bother with augers, elevators, cleaning bins. No idea on costs but I'd guess a simple building be a bit cheaper and less ongoing hassles. Like the channel keep up the good work.
Thank you Brian...well done, great planning
Yay new video keep up the good work Brian 👍👍 and can’t wait for harvest
Thanks for a very informative bin tour! And yes, please give us a tour of the other place as well.
I would certainly watch a video of a tour of the old place......just to see the progress you guys have made....I just recently found this channel so I'm watching everything that pops up!!!
Thanks for watching. The tour of the older facility went out last week. Definitely some lessons learned
I would watch a video of the old grain facility, but yet I watch all your videos.
Sell the dryer to COLE THE CORN STAR cause his is held together with rust 8))
Id like to see the old bin site
U did really wel couldn't tell u never did this before Brian !!! loved the video love the grain bin set up really nice video !
Love the tours, so yes please to another.
Great tour, thanks!! I hope for a tour of the old site as well ;)
Hey Brian do a tour on the old bin site!
Excellent and intrestning tour! I farm in Sweden together with my dad. Right now we have a old grainsystem from the 70s and our plan is to rebuild and expand it during the next couple of years. We are trying to visit different grain facilities to find different solutions that could work for us and watching this video was really great to get some inspiration and to see how you solve things in the part of the world where you live! (Sorry for my bad english, but i hope it's understandable)
Very cool! I like how you think and debate hard about the right answer, but you don’t let it stop you in the mud....you move forward. You leave yourself options for the future and don’t beat yourself up if you need to back up a little. You don’t over extend yourself just to have the latest and greatest.
Excellent video Brian. I like all of your videos but IMHO, you out did yourself with this one. Hoping that since BJ is back on the farm, you guys will need to expand again. God Bless
Great job adding the slide show at the end.
Let's get a tour of the old facility
I really enjoyed the tour, would love to see the old one as well. I have always been interested in how things work, augers, sweep augers, lift systems, etc. thanks for taking the time!!!!!
Yes let’s see the old ones.
Excellent video tour. You should put a weather station on top of one of bins. I also suggest you add security system and locks on important doors and opening.
Thanks for filming this.
Biggest improvement I see needs to be made is a coffee pot in the test shack.
Serious question, why doesn't anybody cover their electric motors during the off season?
The electrical motors are totally enclosed, fan cooled (TEFC), and they can handle incidental water exposure
great step forward,, great design work,,,, i watched you build the new location,, i could tell you knew what you wanted
I worked in a grain elevator and we had some of the features you have but also had pits and as you know water and rotten grain is no picnic, I think you have a pretty nice setup and you will always find there is something you could have done different! Good tour!!👍👍👍
Great video . Next thing i would put in would be a Library stocked with field and stream & equipment manuals and equipment trader mag's . He he . 1 stall for that a shower and locker room as well . Single seat library works fine .
Old one too.
Yes do a tour of the old grain facility.
Brian, I voted, and you definitely didn't disappoint!!! Great video of your operation!!
Look at Border View Farms he installed a light system to show what level his wet bin is at; and you can see those light from a distance.
Old bin tour please!
Instead of climbing your leg to grease it, you could run 1/4 air line with fittings down to the bottom of the leg. For your dump shed try plexiglass. Awesome video keep them coming!
Enjoyed the tour ,,love to see the other bins,...yes it's hard to see the future
I worked at a company blowing granulated sugar through 4” pipe and we installed stainless steel pipe on all the turns in the system ,worked great . Thanks for the great videos
Thanks for watching
Need to look into abrasion resistance steel with a hardness of 400 or higher. You can still bend, roll and weld this material and it's less expensive than going with lined metallic pipe. Those sweeping 90's are better for wear than hard 90 degree elbows. Another option is standard carbon steel with bullhead tee's (tee's have wear plates that take all the wear when making the turn)
Just wanted to say I'm incredibly sad about your mom. God won't put you through anything you can't handle. I pray for comfort and happiness for you and your whole family. God bless, stay the course and keep on keeping on brother. Good luck with harvest
Can't wait til the harvest videos start.
Please show the old grain storage location as well!
