Watched the video and pulled out the pump and cleaned everything, works great now!! About 45 minutes. Thanks!
I have a Bosch 300 dryer with a "DR" code (i.e. same design and issue). I decided to cut an access panel just above the pump area. After confirming there were no vital components in the way, I marked the cut and took a thin grinding wheel to the side panel. The metal is thicker than I expected, but still only took a few minutes to complete. The results was a perfect opening to pull the pump and clean the sump. My pump did not have a float, but the sensors were covered in lint (I don't think I had any microbial growth). After cleaning and reassembly, the dryer is working fine, and cleaning will be a 5 minute job next time I have to do it (presumably in another 4 years). Bosch must have seen your video and adapted the way they secure the electrical wires (they ditched the zip tie for an easier-to-access cable holder on my model). BEST...VIDEO...EVER!

Working on a Bosch 500 series and I had a hard time releasing this clamp holding the wires. I took the pump unit and span it around to see underneath and removed the clamp that way. This kept the wires together too. Rest of video was really similar except for the sensor, that too is electric.
That clamp was extremely hard to undo. I tried my fingers at first, but couldn't budge it. I ultimately used a small flathead screwdriver (think the type that you use to undo the back of a wrist watch to change the battery). That gave me enough force to release the clamp. Go slow, so you don't stab the wires. It reconnects much more easily when you put it back together! Hope this helps! @@nathang82au

This is a fantastic video. Did the process in under 30 minutes!!! My dryer is a little newer, with an electronic float and reusable cable tie, but without this video, I would have removed the side panel and still be at it. Thanks bro!

Just did this. Didn't have to clip the zip tie at 3:00 because I undid the torx screw, pulled the wires, then the hose, then flipped the whole thing over and used a needle nose pliers to release the zip tie mount from the pump frame. This video is so awesome @MITEEman

Thank you so much for this great video. I am a pretty serious DIY guy and was not looking forward to this job. I watched your video twice through and completed the whole job in about 20 minutes. That T15 torx screw is hard to see from the front and once you know it's there the whole thing is a piece of cake. I have a series 500 dryer and for anyone reading this the newer dryers do not use a float but simply have two metallic strips that are immersed in the water and the resistance changes between them as the water level changes. I found that giving them a quick wipe made the sensor work more reliably. Otherwise the procedure is the same for the removal and reinstallation including the little clips on the connectors. Mine has a retainer for the wire tie that has a barb fitting that can be removed and replaced but I cut the tie before discovering this. Thank you again!

I love you, dude. Seriously. THANK YOU for this video. I rent my place and inherited this dryer as a result. I've had somebody here twice to fix it since I moved in 6 months ago only for this issue to keep coming back. They said they took the unit apart to clean it but they clearly did not because the amount of algae and lint that I found in the sump was wretched. The routine cleaning that the maintenance person and I had done in the past were definitely not enough. Your instructions could not have been clearer or more helpful. The dryer is now back to working condition after just 30 minutes!

these two videos are absolutely essential for anyone who owns the Bosh Axxis Condensating Dryer - typically a repair will cost some $400 and with patience, a credit card, small screwdriver, one can clean the entire assembly and in 30 minutes spend nothing but a little time

Beautiful! I watched your other video about 6 months ago, and it did the trick. Now as I'm within a week of selling my home the F-3 came back. After watching this video the problem was solved in less than 20 min. The hardest part was finding my 10 torx bit.

My dryer has those metal water level sensors like another commentor a couple months ago, my pump wouldn't work after cleaning it all out so I read through the comments, pulled it back out, wiped the sensors, success! Thanks for that tip John. Another commentor broke a tab off one of the two plugs, I did too, ran several loads and got the E:90 code, banged the side next to control panel, nothing, remembered that broken tab so went back in, pulled plug out and shoved it back in, E:90 gone. Thanks again 🤙🏼
This video was exactly what I needed to fix my dryer - thank you! I watched it in advance, then watched it (pausing, playing, etc.) exactly while I did the identical procedure. One minor constructive comment - I lost a half hour understand the "215 screwdriver" (min 1:51) until I understood you said the fallen screw was a "T15 torque screw" (min 2:24). So, maybe when talking about any non standard tool take 5 extra seconds to help the REALLY uninformed (like me) and hold the tool up to the camera and clearly say what it is.
I am joining the choir! This, the deep clean, worked! I have a Bosch WTE86300US/09 purchased in Jan 2012 and this solved the annoying problem. We run our dryer constantly so it is definitely a heavy use situation (in addition to less than stellar dryer design in my opinion). My friend, handier (and more fearless) than I, came over and did the work but it was really straight forward. The only (temporary) gotcha we ran into, and probably only unique to us, is that the protective cap was not screwed in. My guess is that we must have had service on it once before and the repairman did not screw the cap back on. BUT...what he did do was put the screw in under the cover. Thus, after releasing all the electrical connections and it was time to lift the pump module out, it would not budge It took my friend a few minutes to figure out that the screw was still in there. I did the scrubbing and like the video, there was definitely some slimy gunk, especially on the impeller. After the fix, we have run about 10 loads since and working perfectly. Prior to the fix we could not get through one drying cycle. Thank you taking the time for creating and sharing a really helpful and cost-saving video.

Thanks for these instructions. I've started with only the quick sump cleaning because my dryer just started giving false alarms about full water tank when it's only half full. My sump isn't emptying completely so I guess I might soon need to try this full procedure as well as it looks quite easy. Incredible that the manual doesn't even hint about cleaning the sump since it's obviously mandatory. Mine lasted four years before starting to clog up.

Just want to thank you for this good walkthrough. It all went very easy just as you outlined. one of the electrical tabs broke off during the removal due to brittleness of the tab. however it does not seem to be a problem yet. Otherwise everything went smoothly.

Thanks for the vid. FYI alot easier by the side when side panel is removed. Also a note to all to clean buildup of lint from the rear lower rear fan to the heater. All can be easily remove and vacuumed clean. Cheers

This video is great and it saved loads of time on the Classix 7 we have. It does not have a front panel digital display, just a couple of lights one of which is empty container. Very similar problem, in my case the empty container light coming on even though the container was not full. And very similar but not identical design. I tried first to bend out the side panel and glad I did because I could easily get the cover off the motor. More importantly was that in the 2 year old Classixx 7 there is a stiff plastic return pipe at the rear of the pump module. Had I been working from inside it would have been very hard to get that out or put back in. Also the sensor is not a float valve but what appears to be an electrical sensor. If water touches the two prongs then it must be detecting water. The connectors are in the same place and look very similar though. Also the zip tie is now a clip that can be released. BTW if you wondered how the dryer knows the container at the top is full when there are absolutely no sensors or any obvious flaps or valves I can reveal all. The pump takes water up from the sump into the container. If the container is full then the water overflows and comes back down a return pipe. So if the control system notices that it is having no luck emptying the container after a timeout it assumes that the container is overflowing and water is being returned to the sump. So if the sump clags up with lint, as in my case, then it doesn't empty properly and you get the fault.
After viewing the video, the material your calling algae looks a lot more like slime mould which is a lot more hazard's and can cause respiratory problems if you breath the spores from it !! Good thing you cleaned out the pump and sump pans.
I started my fault tracing at the top and worked downwards on a WTE84012 GB model. So there was two sizes of torx used and what you showed was almost identical in the pump bay design. My issue was accumulated damp flock; small fibres normally filtered in the two prior stages but now forming a damp mat around the whole of that sump floor and access ports. Just about to partially rebuild the pump unit, side panel, maybe front fascia and not lid with an aim of verifying the pump still abates and shifts water onto the removable drainage tray.
ok this was very helpful.. wow great.. i actually followed it and was able to remove the sump pump and check it out.. and then replace it etc.. unfortunately is wasn't dirty.. geez.. how disapointing.. what i found out was the sensor was covered in some fabric softener sheet gunk... so i took some steel wool to it and thats what made a big difference.. but if my pump dies then i now know i can remove it without removing the side panel etc.. thanks..
I used your first video a couple months ago and the dryer worked once again. I just followed these great instructions a few minutes ago. The part weren't that dirty, but I cleaned them all. Unfortunately, It's not draining. Bad pump?
Great video, really encouraging with a you-can-do-it vibe and all the specifics to back it up. This is my second time going through all this. I have a variation which might help someone looking at this. I use a wet-dry shop vac to make rinsing and emptying the reservoir easier. It has the "Ridgid" orange (somewhat fancier) kind of hose, and I just take the attachment coupler off the work end to make it easy to route into the corners, so it's just the bare orange hose. Also with the vac in hand there's a lot of other extensive clean-up you can do on the air paths to generally help. My dryer is on the floor so getting my arms in the right angles is sort of hard, and I have a pad and headrest, and headlamp of course, and a small flashlight to park in there during the whole process. Use a phone video to check that you really got the reservoir completely clean. In my case it was the pump that could no longer turn so in addition to completely cleaning the impeller as shown here, there was hair and crap wound around the shaft above it, so used a tweezers to pull it out.
I think I broke the plug connector on the white plug shown at 5:00. The top cap of the plug "pivoted" open, and it became impossible to remove the plug, because the pivoted cap blocked the push-in tab. My only recourse was to snip the wires to the plug. Now I can't figure out how to securely get the wires to re-crimp back into the plug? Any suggestions?
I greatly appreciate this video. I was able to fix my dryer in a bit longer than suggested, but mostly because I had an encamped little person that wanted my flashlight. The wire cutting was a bit snug, but I was able to get in through the condensor slot rather easily.

outstanding two videos, I did the easy one and have my fingers crossed, actually I haven't been able to uncross them since I worked in the tunnel. Pheeew! tight space. I don't think I can do the deep dive though, one hand, and left at that, could prove tough for me. thanks though for a great job, this is my second dryer (building requires it) and I paid $225 for a new pump and service for the first one.
Incredibly helpful video. I don't know how you did such excellent camera work. It's exceedingly hard just getting your hand in this space. How you got such a clear shot of what you are showing is beyond me. I will say that this is a really poor design by Bosch. They could have made this job much more accessible.
Would cleaning the sump pump pit be enough to check is sump pump is broken? How do u diagnose if sump pump is broken? I get intermittently dr code. And sometimes it used to shift from full cycle to last 6mins. Today i was able to get to sump pump pit and clean it out and it went through a full cycle. I also see slow water drain from the drain pipe but not gushing water. Any easy test to troubleshoot the sump pump? What is theres still some water in the pit?
remove the drain pipe that connects the pump to the outside of the dryer and make sure it is completely clean (a pipe cleaner is perfect for this). Also check that the external drain pipe is not kinked or blocked in any way.
Just some follow-up to my comment 4 months ago. Your experience might differ but I did not have to cut the wire tie. Upon pulling up the pump module, you can tilt it enough to get under it and pinch and push up the plastic post that is holding down the tied wires. Upon completing the cleaning process and have reinstalled the pump module, just re-insert the plastic post with the wires still attached.
Hey thank you ! this is a great video! Very helpful. However I had an older model so I had to take the side panel off because the deck that the sump pump is attached to is recessed about 1". Anyway, I've done everything correctly I believe but nw i've plugged it all back in and Ive got zero power to the unit. I wonder if there's a reset button or something on my model that Ive missed? Any clues as to why its not getting any power. Something simple I'm sure
I guess I am the first one to snip a wire when trying to remove the wire tie! Would it be safe to reconnect the snipped ends of the white wire with a wire nut? Otherwise, everything went really well. Thanks so much for your video and the repair method you worked out - brilliant!!
Sorry to hear that! It had to happen to someone. A wire nut will work in the short term but wire nuts are not intended for wet locations. There are special wire nuts with gel in them or even better there's small crimp-on connectors filled with gel. Otherwise the wires may corrode and break, causing either a different code or at worst a slow flood if the pump isn't triggered. On the other hand there's several exposed surfaces in there which don't exhibit any corrosion so you may be fine. If you can get a soldering iron in there and solder it and cover it with heat shrink or even electrical tape the solder will prevent any corrosion and make a good connection.
Good morning how long with this hold the dryer from doing this again? I put a wet vac with special end to reach. I was able to clean however, it keeps coming back
Just using a wet vac only gets the easy stuff. You need to remove the pump as shown and check the entire sump beneath the pump as well as check for mildew on the sensor. Once you get it all clean it should last for quite awhile. But it all depends on your usage. You can't let it sit for a long time or algae will build, but if you use it every day the lint will build up. Under ideal conditions of a few times a week it should keep it clean for years.
Thanks for the video it was very helpful. I do recommend having someone with smaller hands around if you have big hands and arms though. I would never have gotten the drain hose and the screw back in without my small handed helper.
Funny enough, I'm a bassist. So my fingers are still somewhat nimble but my hands are huge. Most of these things once I could actually get my fingers around them it was fine, but that screw and drain hose my hand took up basically the entire compartment!
Vinegar or CLR are great for calcium deposits as you might find in a showerhead or humidifier, or water supply. In this case it was just algae and not a calcium deposit. This water is condensate so I'm not sure it would have calcium content. But good idea for any calcium stains.

I too attempted the 'quick flush' fix, and that didn't seem to do the trick. I was just about to spend $1500 to $2000 for a new washer/dryer, then found this advanced procedure. This appears to have fixed the problem, even though I didn't have any biomass on the floor of the sump area. However, there was still a lot of floating lint, so I think that this more complete clean out has done the job. 2 weeks with it up and running now, where it would only work for a pass or three with the simple flush. One question I still have, is whether it is helpful to force air through the remainder of the drain path. My dryer is in a very confined space, and I have no desire to move it physically unless I really have to. I'm just wondering if there is a chance of lint hanging around in the remainder of the drain path that is not accessed here, and if it is possible to clean that out by forcing air through. I have a Bosch dryer, model WTE86300US that had this problem. The video was right on and solved my problem JAN 2017. If you are worried your pump is damaged or too dirty to clean, you can buy a brand new one for about 100.00 and install it yourself. Part Number: AP3962498, I shipped mine overnight from appliance parts pros website. THANK YOU TO THE PERSON WHO MADE THIS VIDEO.
I have followed the extreme clean. Great tutorial, I ran the dryer to test & noticed not all the water i had put in to test had been removed from either the first tank cavity & the cavity right under the pump unit. I called BOSCH and they informed me ALL the water should be drained away by the pump. Because it wasn't i assumed pump failure. My machine is 9 years old and about 2 years ago the pump was replaced. I replaced the pump today & just got done with test and again not all the water has been pumped away. Does anyone know if Bosch was accurate? Maybe it is a faulty NEW pump. Any help greatly appreciated.
Mine also didn’t remove ALL the water. Left about a 1/4 cup or so in the sump. Was a bit disappointed that it wasn’t bone dry. I don’t have. Float sensor either. Two metal strips that I cleaned. Hopefully don’t have to do it again. But I think next time will take ten minutes instead of 30

Quick fix - I attached my bike pump to the end of the hose (the end that does into the drain). gave the 'hose n pump' several pumps with the bike air pump. that flushed out lots of clogged material. then I wiped up what I could. dryer is working fine, but will eventually need to remove the pump as described in the video.
Thank you for this tutorial, it worked beautifully but I'm not sure about the results. When I removed the pump it was a bit different and did not include a float, It was also not in a bad shape and there was no algae at the bottom and mainly clean although I did remove a lot of lint from around it. After I returned it into place I was not sure it's working as I could only turn in on when the dryer was working and the dryer noise drowned any possible sound the pump was making. The water I added did not seem to be sucked out although there was some movement - this is the same as it was before I did the process so the pump itself might be not working.

This is the most perfect and best instructional video for the F03 code on the internet. It took me 4 years of calling Bosch and cost my landlord about $1000 in labor, replacement pumps, and cleanings before I figured out how to remove the pump and clean it myself. This video goes many steps beyond the knowledge I've acquired and will save me time and my landlord money and I'll finally have a well maintained machine that works with heavy usage of 4 adults.

Just did this. Didn't have to clip the zip tie at 3:00 because I undid the torx screw, pulled the wires, then the hose, then flipped the whole thing over and used a needle nose pliers to release the zip tie mount from the pump frame. This video is so awesome @MITEEman

Thank you so much for this great video. I am a pretty serious DIY guy and was not looking forward to this job. I watched your video twice through and completed the whole job in about 20 minutes. That T15 torx screw is hard to see from the front and once you know it's there the whole thing is a piece of cake. I have a series 500 dryer and for anyone reading this the newer dryers do not use a float but simply have two metallic strips that are immersed in the water and the resistance changes between them as the water level changes. I found that giving them a quick wipe made the sensor work more reliably. Otherwise the procedure is the same for the removal and reinstallation including the little clips on the connectors. Mine has a retainer for the wire tie that has a barb fitting that can be removed and replaced but I cut the tie before discovering this. Thank you again!

I rent my place and inherited this dryer as a result. I've had somebody here twice to fix it since I moved in 6 months ago only for this issue to keep coming back. They said they took the unit apart to clean it but they clearly did not because the amount of algae and lint that I found in the sump was wretched. The routine cleaning that the maintenance person and I had done in the past were definitely not enough.

I paid a service $165 to look over my dryer, and later that night I heard the ominous five beeps yet again. I did a google search and stumbled on your earlier vid of a simple clean out (Which I have done, numerous times). But that one led to this one, and I can't tell you how spot on your presentation is.

Beautiful! I watched your other video about 6 months ago, and it did the trick. Now as I'm within a week of selling my home the F-3 came back. After watching this video the problem was solved in less than 20 min. The hardest part was finding my 10 torx bit.

Thanks for the great video! My dryer has those metal water level sensors like another commentor a couple months ago, my pump wouldn't work after cleaning it all out so I read through the comments, pulled it back out, wiped the sensors, success!
Thanks for that tip John. Another commentor broke a tab off one of the two plugs, I did too, ran several loads and got the E:90 code, banged the side next to control panel, nothing, remembered that broken tab so went back in, pulled plug out and shoved it back in, E:90 gone.

This video was exactly what I needed to fix my dryer - thank you! I watched it in advance, then watched it (pausing, playing, etc.) exactly while I did the identical procedure. One minor constructive comment - I lost a half hour understand the "215 screwdriver" (min 1:51) until I understood you said the fallen screw was a "T15 torque screw" (min 2:24). So, maybe when talking about any non standard tool take 5 extra seconds to help the REALLY uninformed (like me) and hold the tool up to the camera and clearly say what it is.

I am joining the choir! This, the deep clean, worked! I have a Bosch WTE86300US/09 purchased in Jan 2012 and this solved the annoying problem. We run our dryer constantly so it is definitely a heavy use situation (in addition to less than stellar dryer design in my opinion). My friend, handier (and more fearless) than I, came over and did the work but it was really straight forward. The only (temporary) gotcha we ran into, and probably only unique to us, is that the protective cap was not screwed in. My guess is that we must have had service on it once before and the repairman did not screw the cap back on. BUT...what he did do was put the screw in under the cover. Thus, after releasing all the electrical connections and it was time to lift the pump module out, it would not budge It took my friend a few minutes to figure out that the screw was still in there. I did the scrubbing and like the video, there was definitely some slimy gunk, especially on the impeller. After the fix, we have run about 10 loads since and working perfectly. Prior to the fix we could not get through one drying cycle.

Thanks for these instructions. I've started with only the quick sump cleaning because my dryer just started giving false alarms about full water tank when it's only half full.
My sump isn't emptying completely so I guess I might soon need to try this full procedure as well as it looks quite easy. Incredible that the manual doesn't even hint about cleaning the sump since it's obviously mandatory. Mine lasted four years before starting to clog up.

Just want to thank you for this good walkthrough. It all went very easy just as you outlined. one of the electrical tabs broke off during the removal due to brittleness of the tab. however it does not seem to be a problem yet. Otherwise everything went smoothly.

This video is great and it saved loads of time on the Classix 7 we have. It does not have a front panel digital display, just a couple of lights one of which is empty container. Very similar problem, in my case the empty container light coming on even though the container was not full. And very similar but not identical design.
I tried first to bend out the side panel and glad I did because I could easily get the cover off the motor. More importantly was that in the 2 year old Classixx 7 there is a stiff plastic return pipe at the rear of the pump module. Had I been working from inside it would have been very hard to get that out or put back in. Also the sensor is not a float valve but what appears to be an electrical sensor. If water touches the two prongs then it must be detecting water. The connectors are in the same place and look very similar though. Also the zip tie is now a clip that can be released.
BTW if you wondered how the dryer knows the container at the top is full when there are absolutely no sensors or any obvious flaps or valves I can reveal all. The pump takes water up from the sump into the container. If the container is full then the water overflows and comes back down a return pipe. So if the control system notices that it is having no luck emptying the container after a timeout it assumes that the container is overflowing and water is being returned to the sump. So if the sump clags up with lint, as in my case, then it doesn't empty properly and you get the fault.
Since we cant get a gas drier we had to go with the Bosch, It is by far a bad design. Thank you for this video and i will tackle this!

After viewing the video, the material your calling algae looks a lot more like slime mould which is a lot more hazard's and can cause respiratory problems if you breath the spores from it !!
Good thing you cleaned out the pump and sump pans.
I started my fault tracing at the top and worked downwards on a WTE84012 GB model. So there was two sizes of torx used and what you showed was almost identical in the pump bay design. My issue was accumulated damp flock; small fibres normally filtered in the two prior stages but now forming a damp mat around the whole of that sump floor and access ports. Just about to partially rebuild the pump unit, side panel, maybe front fascia and not lid with an aim of verifying the pump still abates and shifts water onto the removable drainage tray.
ok this was very helpful.. wow great.. i actually followed it and was able to remove the sump pump and check it out.. and then replace it etc.. unfortunately is wasn't dirty.. geez.. how disapointing.. what i found out was the sensor was covered in some fabric softener sheet gunk... so i took some steel wool to it and thats what made a big difference.. but if my pump dies then i now know i can remove it without removing the side panel etc.. thanks..
I used your first video a couple months ago and the dryer worked once again. I just followed these great instructions a few minutes ago. The part weren't that dirty, but I cleaned them all. Unfortunately, It's not draining. Bad pump?
Great video, really encouraging with a you-can-do-it vibe and all the specifics to back it up. This is my second time going through all this. I have a variation which might help someone looking at this. I use a wet-dry shop vac to make rinsing and emptying the reservoir easier. It has the "Ridgid" orange (somewhat fancier) kind of hose, and I just take the attachment coupler off the work end to make it easy to route into the corners, so it's just the bare orange hose. Also with the vac in hand there's a lot of other extensive clean-up you can do on the air paths to generally help. My dryer is on the floor so getting my arms in the right angles is sort of hard, and I have a pad and headrest, and headlamp of course, and a small flashlight to park in there during the whole process. Use a phone video to check that you really got the reservoir completely clean. In my case it was the pump that could no longer turn so in addition to completely cleaning the impeller as shown here, there was hair and crap wound around the shaft above it, so used a tweezers to pull it out.
I think I broke the plug connector on the white plug shown at 5:00. The top cap of the plug "pivoted" open, and it became impossible to remove the plug, because the pivoted cap blocked the push-in tab. My only recourse was to snip the wires to the plug. Now I can't figure out how to securely get the wires to re-crimp back into the plug? Any suggestions?
Did this to mine fixed it completely.I didn't unplug the dryer either. Useful tip just use a kitchen sponge so much easier to clean it
I greatly appreciate this video. I was able to fix my dryer in a bit longer than suggested, but mostly because I had an encamped little person that wanted my flashlight.
The wire cutting was a bit snug, but I was able to get in through the condensor slot rather easily.
Where do I send the check? Seriously, I'm sure your video saved me $2-300 on a repair tech, if not more.

outstanding two videos, I did the easy one and have my fingers crossed, actually I haven't been able to uncross them since I worked in the tunnel. Pheeew! tight space. I don't think I can do the deep dive though, one hand, and left at that, could prove tough for me. thanks though for a great job, this is my second dryer (building requires it) and I paid $225 for a new pump and service for the first one.
Incredibly helpful video. I don't know how you did such excellent camera work. It's exceedingly hard just getting your hand in this space. How you got such a clear shot of what you are showing is beyond me. I will say that this is a really poor design by Bosch. They could have made this job much more accessible.

Would cleaning the sump pump pit be enough to check is sump pump is broken? How do u diagnose if sump pump is broken? I get intermittently dr code. And sometimes it used to shift from full cycle to last 6mins. Today i was able to get to sump pump pit and clean it out and it went through a full cycle. I also see slow water drain from the drain pipe but not gushing water. Any easy test to troubleshoot the sump pump? What is theres still some water in the pit?
remove the drain pipe that connects the pump to the outside of the dryer and make sure it is completely clean (a pipe cleaner is perfect for this). Also check that the external drain pipe is not kinked or blocked in any way.
Just some follow-up to my comment 4 months ago. Your experience might differ but I did not have to cut the wire tie. Upon pulling up the pump module, you can tilt it enough to get under it and pinch and push up the plastic post that is holding down the tied wires. Upon completing the cleaning process and have reinstalled the pump module, just re-insert the plastic post with the wires still attached.
Hey thank you ! this is a great video! Very helpful. However I had an older model so I had to take the side panel off because the deck that the sump pump is attached to is recessed about 1". Anyway, I've done everything correctly I believe but nw i've plugged it all back in and Ive got zero power to the unit. I wonder if there's a reset button or something on my model that Ive missed? Any clues as to why its not getting any power. Something simple I'm sure
I guess I am the first one to snip a wire when trying to remove the wire tie! Would it be safe to reconnect the snipped ends of the white wire with a wire nut? Otherwise, everything went really well. Thanks so much for your video and the repair method you worked out - brilliant!!
Sorry to hear that! It had to happen to someone. A wire nut will work in the short term but wire nuts are not intended for wet locations. There are special wire nuts with gel in them or even better there's small crimp-on connectors filled with gel. Otherwise the wires may corrode and break, causing either a different code or at worst a slow flood if the pump isn't triggered. On the other hand there's several exposed surfaces in there which don't exhibit any corrosion so you may be fine. If you can get a soldering iron in there and solder it and cover it with heat shrink or even electrical tape the solder will prevent any corrosion and make a good connection.

Good morning how long with this hold the dryer from doing this again? I put a wet vac with special end to reach. I was able to clean however, it keeps coming back
Just using a wet vac only gets the easy stuff. You need to remove the pump as shown and check the entire sump beneath the pump as well as check for mildew on the sensor. Once you get it all clean it should last for quite awhile. But it all depends on your usage. You can't let it sit for a long time or algae will build, but if you use it every day the lint will build up. Under ideal conditions of a few times a week it should keep it clean for years.
Thanks for the video it was very helpful. I do recommend having someone with smaller hands around if you have big hands and arms though. I would never have gotten the drain hose and the screw back in without my small handed helper.

Funny enough, I'm a bassist. So my fingers are still somewhat nimble but my hands are huge. Most of these things once I could actually get my fingers around them it was fine, but that screw and drain hose my hand took up basically the entire compartment!
Could you pour vinegar or CLR or something into there to break up all the gunk?
Vinegar or CLR are great for calcium deposits as you might find in a showerhead or humidifier, or water supply. In this case it was just algae and not a calcium deposit. This water is condensate so I'm not sure it would have calcium content. But good idea for any calcium stains.

I too attempted the 'quick flush' fix, and that didn't seem to do the trick. I was just about to spend $1500 to $2000 for a new washer/dryer, then found this advanced procedure.
This appears to have fixed the problem, even though I didn't have any biomass on the floor of the sump area. However, there was still a lot of floating lint, so I think that this more complete clean out has done the job. 2 weeks with it up and running now, where it would only work for a pass or three with the simple flush.
One question I still have, is whether it is helpful to force air through the remainder of the drain path. My dryer is in a very confined space, and I have no desire to move it physically unless I really have to. I'm just wondering if there is a chance of lint hanging around in the remainder of the drain path that is not accessed here, and if it is possible to clean that out by forcing air through.

I have a Bosch dryer, model WTE86300US that had this problem. The video was right on and solved my problem JAN 2017. If you are worried your pump is damaged or too dirty to clean, you can buy a brand new one for about 100.00 and install it yourself. Part Number: AP3962498, I shipped mine overnight from appliance parts pros website. THANK YOU TO THE PERSON WHO MADE THIS VIDEO.
I have followed the extreme clean. Great tutorial, I ran the dryer to test & noticed not all the water i had put in to test had been removed from either the first tank cavity & the cavity right under the pump unit. I called BOSCH and they informed me ALL the water should be drained away by the pump. Because it wasn't i assumed pump failure. My machine is 9 years old and about 2 years ago the pump was replaced. I replaced the pump today & just got done with test and again not all the water has been pumped away. Does anyone know if Bosch was accurate? Maybe it is a faulty NEW pump. Any help greatly appreciated.

Mine also didn’t remove ALL the water. Left about a 1/4 cup or so in the sump. Was a bit disappointed that it wasn’t bone dry. I don’t have. Float sensor either. Two metal strips that I cleaned. Hopefully don’t have to do it again. But I think next time will take ten minutes instead of 30

Quick fix - I attached my bike pump to the end of the hose (the end that does into the drain). gave the 'hose n pump' several pumps with the bike air pump. that flushed out lots of clogged material. then I wiped up what I could. dryer is working fine, but will eventually need to remove the pump as described in the video.
This worked great on my Bosch Dryer WTC82100US. Thanks a ton!

Thank you for this tutorial, it worked beautifully but I'm not sure about the results.
When I removed the pump it was a bit different and did not include a float, It was also not in a bad shape and there was no algae at the bottom and mainly clean although I did remove a lot of lint from around it.
After I returned it into place I was not sure it's working as I could only turn in on when the dryer was working and the dryer noise drowned any possible sound the pump was making.
The water I added did not seem to be sucked out although there was some movement - this is the same as it was before I did the process so the pump itself might be not working.
