Coz these so called car enthusiasts in this generation will hate GREAT cars in general. Great cars = hate automatically nowadays lol. Until now, HONDA still get a lot of hate mainly because of the FACT that Hondas small engines are strong and tuner friendly.
It gets a lot of hate because it's in many ways a worse car than its predecessor. The EP3 Type R had the same power, it weighs considerably less and it still has independent rear suspension while this one switched to torsion beam suspension to reduce costs. All the Type R models after that were heavier still, but they at least had the engine power to match and, while their design was in many ways questionable, the aero was very much functional.
