I started making jewellery in 1979 and within 4 years taught myself to go crazy with eyewear and fairly sane and functional spectacles. Lovely Ring! Would you please tell me the name of the rotary tool you are using in the last few seconds of the video, that gives the diamond edge cuts? @6:04, will it work on a flexshaft? Thank you!

    • @TheJewelleryWorkshop

      Hi there, I’m not sure what it’s called but if you search on google, diamond cutting tool it should come up. Here is the website, there are other websites and manufactures you can buy from and yes, it should work with a flex shaft. The rotary machine we use is a marathon hand machine.

    Was that borax you dipped the ring in before you quenched it? Nice work, thank you.

    • @TheJewelleryWorkshop

      No, it’s ammonium chloride to give back the colour of the metal. The borax is used as a flux for our soldering and also melting jewelery

    • @BrianAdamBushStudio
      @BrianAdamBushStudio 3 года назад

      @@wepple123 Use fine silver (999 parts per 1000) or if that's too soft, depending on the wire diameter you use, use an alloy between that and sterling (925sil). 950sil for example. It's the copper in the alloy that tarnishes and looks less white. Brian
