I blame their parents had they just shown Kai the equal love they showed Jo then there could’ve been a happy ending

Julie Plec was right when she said this was the best episode of the season. I'm glad that Alaric saw Jo leave in peace and not the horrific way she died. That speech Jo gave to her daughters was so lovely and heartbreaking at the same time. RIP JO!

Vampire Fan 17 actually it does DNA and no wanted to be there Caroline loved them like their own they have to moms, which is good but jo will always be there mom 2, just because a parent died before you were born doesn't mean you just act as they never existed the girls would not be so sad if they didn't have a connection with their mom Caroline is their mom to but she was also a surrogate and Rick will always respect her for being a mother figure in their life because Rick knows they need a mother figure in their life period to teach them how to become young ladies so it doesn't take away from what Caroline did but jo was taken from them on her wedding day and this gives them closure.

I hate how they keep saying Lizzie is like Caroline. Maybe season 1 and early season 2 Caroline, but the Caroline from mid TVD S2 to The Originals season 5 was pretty much one of the nicest characters in the entire TVD/TO verse. Even freaking Katherine pointed out how Caroline became a better person post vampirism. She had more compassion and self control than most characters on this show, including the supposedly "compassionate" Elena.
Lizzie a little like Caroline was in the beginning, but in truth she is really more like Kai than anyone else.

@Vampire Fan 17 You keep changing your statements you have said in numerous comments that because Jo didn't give birth to the twins shes not a mother and those are not her children. A woman who miscarrys her child didnt give birth but that doesn't mean she isn't a mother. You may have a personal reason as to why you feel so strongly about this and when you say DNA doesn't make you a parent its about who raised you I do see your point. And in cases where parents have dumped their kids, like Elena's birth mom, i can see why Elena would only see Miranda as her mother. But Jo didn't decide to give up her babies she was brutally murdered and her babies stolen. She loves the girls as any mother would. The girls see Caroline as their Mom but understand that Jo is their bio mom as Lizzie puts it. You can love two mothers children from same sex families do.

TVD, The Originals and now Legacies have never failed to delivered when it comes to great acting, they always get me I'm crying my eyes out. I hated how they never really mentioned Jo and always put Caroline as the twins' mother, they never really acknowledged her so this really made me happy and super emotional.

If Caroline won't be on the show, why didn't they return Joe for good? And have them be a happy, normal family (for once in all these series). It would've been so sweet. If we won't see Caroline ever, they should've done it.

Alaric is what it truly means to be human. He lost so much, watched nearly all his past wives taken from him and he still found a way to push through and now he has 2 beautiful daughters.

Such a happy sad scene! I feel Josie didn’t want Jo to leave due to she found someone who she could feel more related to. I mean sure she loves Caroline because that’s her mom but like she said in scenes before, Lizzie was always looking like and acting like Caroline where as Josie felt more connected with Jo. Probably why she didn’t want Jo to leave.
@Vampire Fan 17 Its pretty obvious josie felt a connection as soon as she saw her. Lizzie took after caroline while josie took after jo, they both inherited traits from jo but lizzie is alot more like caroline than josie tbh.

If it wasn't for the coven moving them to Caroline they'd be dead just like their mom. Such a beautiful memorie
The fact that they add Wake Me Up by Avicii makes this so much worse because even though I didn’t pay much attention to him, his music was amazing. And how they added it to Jo finding peace makes this scene much more heartbreaking than it already is. Also how Alaric is silently crying in the back makes me want to literally bawl. ❤️

It just occurred to me that this might help Lizzie understand Hope and her dad's relationship a bit more. Hope was trusted because she knew what her magic could, she'd seen the consequences and had seen the worst the supernatural could do (cue her original family), exactly like Alaric (cue literally everything in TVD) had. He trusted her to be cautious, even if he knew she could be dark, like the death spell.

The tears we didn’t want to shed but glad we did… the writers did an amazing job and I’m here for it… 2009 was great, every Thursday night on CW at 8pm TVD and if you couldn’t record it you just had to be there and really fans will know and that goes for The Originals too… no regrets and I’m glad we later got Netflix so we can binge watch it again and again… safe to say I bought both complete series on Blu ray( low key nervous I’d forget my Apple ID password someday if I bought them digital )
I really like that this gave Alaric finally the chance to say goodbye. Jos death was so sudden.... he never had the chance to say goodbye. This was finally his chance to get his goodbye to the woman he loved.
Am in full mood crying. Going to miss her again but at least this time she gets to say good bye

I had to stop this video & rewatch the episode & yes, I cried... again! I'm not a big fan of Legacies, but this is one of the few episodes that I think was done PERFECTLY. Brought a VERY sad storyline from TVD back in a new series & it just tears you up, especially if you were a dedicated fan of TVD. The acting in this scene is just TOO good!!
