May I say that after watching many cruise ship channels here I found yours to be the best, It has good filming and not some voice-over that would drive you insane. well done and thanks
Thank you, I enjoyed your video very much! My partner and I sailed on the Queen Mary 2 from South Hampton on a 12 day cruise through the Mediterranean in 2005, the ship was just one year old at that time! My Partner passed away in 2006, this cruise was our way of saying goodbye, cancer is terrible! Your video brought back fond memories!
After twenty years of working in America, my wife and I returned to England for retirement on the Q E 2. It was a wonderful experience. As soon as we boarded in New York, we felt we had returned to our home country. Although this video shows many aspects of the vessel, I was surprised that the amount of passenger entertainment and involvement was not better explained. I thought before the passage that seven days with nothing to see but see the sea might become tedious. However, a daily sheet of activities was delivered to the cabin, and the problem was fitting everything in.
I just never tire of looking at the sea, whether from our stateroom’s veranda or from one of the decks. It is such an awesome, hypnotic spectacle that my wife and I could not tear ourselves away from the planned activities (except for the amazing meals in the Queens Grill) !
@@parigino48 Thank you for your response. One of my favourite non-activity activities was to take a book and one of the big armchairs at the front of the library and the front (bow) of the ship and be part of this enormous vessel ploughing unhindered through some massive waves with all of the ease of a big, powerful vessel designed to do just that.
Thank you so much for this wonderful vid of doing a transatlanic on the magnificent QM2. Your attention to detail was very impressive . Very well done 👏

This was a fantastic video. I loved the no talking but the subtitles with all the information was excellent. I also appreciated the tour of the ship and how you showed things like pushing away from the docks etc. The Restaurants all looked amazing. Its my and my wife's dream to one day to be able to afford to go on a cruise like this.❤
You made a fantastic video which I felt I was travelling with you. As others have commented your attention to detail is a brilliant work of art, and I wish you every success for your future travels.
This was the most pleasing and enticing cruising presentation I have ever watched... besides your other presentation of the Queen Elizabeth of the same caliber, of course! I have watched all the cruise presentations I can rest my eyes on, but yours are a whole class above. It is peaceful, detailed, and anything but excited and at times ridiculous like so many other comments are. This is an elegant presentation, almost poetic; just as you are. I thoroughly enjoy the unique fact that you record the sounds alongside the sights of the cruise. Thus we can easily read your comments in the CC. What a marvelous idea! I actually also bring down the speed to 0.75, which allows better gathering of even more details Thank you so much for allowing us to travel with you. I can't wait to watch your next presentations!

Esto es solo un viaje transoceánico de pocos días. Un crucero largo puede tener una duración de hasta unos 130 días. Realmente sorprendente. Un saludo.
Thank you for taking the time to do this on your trip! I love Cruising and really love your cruise videos. Thank you for this and all the other videos!
Transatlantic in Queens Grill must be an iconic and remarkable way to experience the crossing. I really enjoyed it while cruising on the inside of the ship, but that would be incredible to be in absolute luxury the whole time - I'm jealous!
Very nice video and thanks for sharing it. In case you’re wondering about the red/green bouys, they are to mark the channel for entrance to and departure from a harbor. For a captain, The bouys are kept on the starboard side (right) where “Green Go” ~ leaving harbor and “Red, Right, Return” ~ entrance to a harbor.
This beautiful ship is only for the Rich and not for the Poor! If you take a flight you can reach London from New York only in one day and not in 8 days like the "Queen Mary 2" with it`s rich passangers! How do you do?
Thank you for this very interesting video. I really appreciated all the details you included about the ship structure, history, the buildings in New York, the ships you passed, etc. You have a great eye for things that other channels mostly ignore. That makes you unique!
Excellent, simple, calm and entertaining travel log on the Queen Elizabeth transpacific voyage, to a trans Canadian train ride, ending with Queen Mary 2 from Brooklyn to Southampton. And throughout your travels: refined and impeccably dressed !
I love your videos. I prefer reading instead of having someone nattering away. I subscribed and will definitely watch more than the 4 I have already today. 😊
That was an incredible trip. It truly makes you experience travel as it used to be. I've visited the Queen Mary in Long Beach a few times and it's pretty cool how they integrated so many of the original ship. Thank you!
Your video is extremely calming and I liked the way you capture different lines and angles making me think you are good at design. I have also travelled on the QMII, what an experience. I loved how you caught the ships clock tick over quickly for the time change.
Fascinating and most enjoyable that you shared the experience very few of us will ever have. You also made the point about the train from Sothampton travelling at intense speeds. Nothing compared to the speeds achieved in Japan, also the Internet speeds as well. you are a very kind person, thankyou :)
An amazing tour, so rich in detail and history, we live the other side of Southampton Water so really enjoyed this!! Thanks for all your hard work putting this altogether.
Thank you. Never ever ridden a luxury boat and I think I wont ever given its price. But this vid and the presentation gave much experience enough for a dreamer like me.Thanks from Manila!
We almost got to see all of you! Not that it matters, I still binge your videos because the places are interest AND you're hilarious with your sarcastic quips. Thanks for review and be safe out there!
The foghorn on the starboard side of QM2's funnel came from the middle funnel of the original RMS Queen Mary. The foghorn on the port side of RMS Queen Mary 2 is new, and is a copy of the RMS QM's original. BOTH produced steam when sounding during the early years of QM2's voyages. Sadly discontinued. Hope this helps.
That was so much fun to watch ! I didn't realize until the end you have been on a much longer journey. I'll check out your other videos next. Save travels!
Thank you very much for this indepth review! We are doing the same trip next year in August from Southampton to New York and thanks to your review now we are even more excited!
Fun seeing this. I crossed the English Channel twice on the huge Dover-Calais ferry in '17, going to France and returning to Dover four weeks later the day before I flew non-stop on British Airways to Phoenix, which I flew a month earlier non-stop to London from Phoenix. The Dover ferry was the largest ship I've ever cruised on, though the cruise was short. Ita main deck was stunning, with shops, lounges, and a food court and perhaps 200 meters in length. The sensation of speed was amazing. I have been on fast ferry boats before--catamaran ferries from Vallejo to San Francisco, near Napa where I used to live, and they could speed up to 35 knots. But to be on the Dover Ferry, something so huge moving so fast is the closest thing I've had compared to your transatlantic crossing. I could almost taste the food you shared, and I remember the fog of my San Francisco Bay crossings, and I remember how cold it was on the Dover Ferry's aft deck as I saw the White Cliffs of Dover disappear, quite similar to the White Cliffs of Pt. Reyes National Seashore north of San Francisco, where I went on a field trip with my 1980 college geology class. Wonderful video!
Fantastic Video! And it's Very Different to not have any talking which I really enjoyed, much better to read subtitles! I really enjoyed the detail of everything.Thank you for this great production.
What a wondefully, quirky, vid. I really enjoyed it. Btw, a shirt worn under a jacket should always project from under the jacket sleeve by at least 10mm.
I'd love to see those prop blades on the top deck up close, I've heard they're some of the most finely tuned pieces of kit to be found on a ship, so many man hours to finesse them and better than some art imo. Lovely film, thanks!
We were told that one of the main reasons the ships “home” was changed to Hamilton was so that they could perform weddings onboard. It’s still considered a British ship by most people. Also the photo with Helen Keller, she is on the left, not the middle.
The ships horn is not low sounding because of the ships length. It is a directional fog horn that transmits eight nautical miles forward, yet Can not be heard below.
My Cunard experiences have been mostly on QM2: 37 voyages, 21 being Transatlantic of which 6 were round trips. Why did you choose to have dinners in your stateroom? one of the attractions for me is to dress up and eat in one of the restaurants, especially when it's Queens Grill.
I was 12 years old when I was fortunate to cruise on the SS UGANDA it was a school cruise around the Mediterranean in 1971, how would I love to be a passenger on this wonderful ship, I keep dreaming 😢❤ I’m from the UK
Heh...yeah, I bet the winds were dangerous. I was actually on a whale watching boat while I was visiting Seattle one time and I decided to head outside while the boat was moving fast to get to the spot so I could feel the wind in my face. (It's the Minnesotan in me.) However, while that was not going anywhere NEAR as fast as the Queen Mary, the speed was enough to give me some serious wind burn. Glad you enjoyed yourself! GAWD, I wish I could afford to take a cruise like this!
Thank you for this wonderful video. It was informative and packed with interesting details. I shall look forward to seeing more videos on your channel.
Bermuda is a "British Overseas Territory" (part of the former British Empire) and therefore perfectly entitled to fly the "undefaced" "Red Duster" on the stern, even though not UK registered.
Hello mysterious world traveller...this video was quite intriguing..not seeing who actually travels...was very interesting as I could imagine being there and experiencing everything through your chosen focus and comments..thank you so much...and great idea to travel slowly and in style across this wonderful planet ... lots of thanks and love from Germany :)
That's excellent you're in the Queen's grill suitesweet I bet that really cost a lot cause just a normal cabin aboard the queen Mary is like getting a sweet cab and a board when the Japanese ferries you have an excellent day and I hope you have a wonderful vacation
A lovely vlog, thankyou! It really is unfortunate that the Queen Mary 2 was not even built in England but was built in France. It is British only by name sake.😮😊.
The build origin of a vessel has nothing to do with its nationality, the Harry Potter films were mostly filmed in the UK but they are American movies. The Queen Mary 2 was British (not English) designed and funded, try and do better old chap.
The left horn is much older - that’s because it’s specially taken from RMS Queen Mary (now at Long Beach)! Isn’t that a wonderful connection to her predecessor ?😎
The only one i can tell about big ships I see the the first time arriving of Oueen Mary 2 in Hamburg 2005. One good friend/neighbor of my Oma stay on the Titanic and he survived and come back 🙏
Doing my 8th Transatlantic Crossing in mid-October. Two were NY to Southampton and 6 in a row now Southhampton to NY. Southhampton to NY is best . You gain an hour almost every . NY to UK the clocks are moved up one hour in the middle of the day which is too weird. When Americans arrive in Southhampton from NY in the early AM, the hustle and bustle of either heading to Heathrow to head home or heading to London to unpack your suitcase at the hotel, and then a few days later, pack it up again and head to Heathrow. and that hassle.
29:25 The letter is addressed to "Sir Cecil Harcourt Smith, Victoria and Albert Museum, (I think) S. The "left horn" looks older because it came from the original Queen Mary, now in Long Beach, California. She is now also operated by compressed air rather than steam, though there is a small generator that produces a 'puff' to recall the days of steam.
Have you ever crossed the Atlantic Ocean by ship? Please share your experience 😊
Please turn on the subtitles to watch the video!
No, I only wish one day I might be able to. Beautiful video!
Three times twice P&O and once Royal Caribbean Independence of the Seas. I love it and prefer long distance to cruising any day.
