Exactly why I recorded it. They're since changed it to just say "This is a test of the emergency warning system." Not good to have a tornado every friday at noon I guess. :)
@weatherstorms Its possible that the dispatcher could've pressed the wrong button. It's happened before in the city of Wayne with one of their Whelens.
lol I was playing hockey for the Sioux Falls Flyers against the Watertown Lakers and we had to go to the locker rooms because they didn't specify that it was a test, we had to delay the game for 30 min
These sirens are on the replacement list due to high cost of replacing controllers & due to the fact that amplifiers are no longer made for the MCP style controllers.
Fucked up controller. It sounds like a UV controller with a lower pitch due to a bad chip. Look closely at the pole. You can somewhat see the controller which has 2 boxes. I like the deep pitch, but the siren sounds a bit sad, and I bet those drivers are a bit mad too.
@weatherstorms YEah They changed it to say "THIS IS A TEST OF THE WATERTOWN EMERGENCY SYSTEM" at the begining and end of every broadcast . They hold this once a week every Friday. People in town hardly notice it it happens so often.
That’s a: Siratone EOWS 612 Or A regular EOWS 612 Edit: I think it is actually a regular EOWS 612 because it doesn’t sound like it has a Siratone Controller and the siren sounds lower pitched like a Whelen WPS-4008
How do you expect to people to take this thing seriously when it says that there is a tornado warning and its only a test? Especially when it's a cloudy eerie day like that day.
@gerbilPROJECT lol good point. cause every time I hear it i run outside to see whats going on and then I look up and down the street and see everyone else doing the same thing.
lmao ok nice, almost as loud as the thunderbolt which cranks out 127. in Howard we just have 1 3T22 and a federal signal 2001-SRN and the 2001 cranks out close to 130dbs
Exactly why I recorded it. They're since changed it to just say "This is a test of the emergency warning system." Not good to have a tornado every friday at noon I guess. :)
Btw that siren is called Federal Signal EOWS 612
I'm glad you cleared up the fact that it was only a test
They have since changed the announcement to saying "This is a test"
SDSpike hey reminding you that that siren is a EOWS 612
Then why is it calling it a tornado warning
@@SuburbanStorms its a mock up
Him: its actually a test

@weatherstorms Its possible that the dispatcher could've pressed the wrong button. It's happened before in the city of Wayne with one of their Whelens.
That siren is fuckin with people's minds lol
By the looks of the sky on the video, it seems more like a genuine tornado warning than a monthly test.
lol I was playing hockey for the Sioux Falls Flyers against the Watertown Lakers and we had to go to the locker rooms because they didn't specify that it was a test, we had to delay the game for 30 min
LOL they have now changed that to announcing that "This is a test of the Watertown Emergency warning system"
It sounds like the wail on the Whelen ESC-864 panel.
These sirens are on the replacement list due to high cost of replacing controllers & due to the fact that amplifiers are no longer made for the MCP style controllers.
These sirens are being replaced EVERYWHERE and what stands in their place are FS 2001-130s
And Modulators, don't forget Modulators.
And Eclipses and 508s.
@@TheJakeman789 don't forget about the T128 as well
TheJakeman789 maybe asc t128s
Is a tornado warning take shelter immediately?
IT IS QUESTIONING US...
Thats an EOWS 612.
@Midnight1XCoffee dude, i'm pretty sure the EOWS doesn't do voice. I'm thinking they mave have connected this to a whelen control box.
Congratulations! You won a Darwin award!

That's why it's called 612
I never knew Watertown had a EOWS
Today's video starring EOWS-612
That thing either has a Whelen or ATI controller. It sounds just like a Whelen, only lower pitched.
LouisvilleTorn8o it’s probably sick
no I remember when this siren went off, it was origionally a test, but then a tornado warning was issued.
Eows 612
EOWS 612
I couldn't tell you if they're low or not. the audio does does vary as the thing spins.
That Siren is an EOWS 612. And by listening to it, it has a different controller.
I think its a mcp, it sounds like a whelen tho
wow! thats funny. wonder if ppl will take a real tornado warning seriously :O . awesome video, btw
@weatherstorms YEah They changed it to say "THIS IS A TEST OF THE WATERTOWN EMERGENCY SYSTEM" at the begining and end of every broadcast . They hold this once a week every Friday. People in town hardly notice it it happens so often.
This siren is called a Federal Signal EOWS-612. Nice Video
That’s a:

the 612 is actually 121 DB but close guess lmao ok
Its an EOWS 612.
Its scary because its moving!!!
That's pretty stupid to blast the tornado warning voice and not a test voice.
It’s a EOWS 612
that is a EOWS 612
That eows612 siren
why is the pitch so low?
It's doing the limbo.
It possibly has a Whelen controller
Sounds like a whelen
ITS A EOWS 612 and I AM SORRY BUT IT HAS 12 SPEAKERS IN TOTAL.
Six horns X twelve drivers. Meaning two drivers per horn.
Bro that’s maths right there
that's an eows 612
federal signal eows 612
That's my town where I live. My school is only 2 blocks away.
Thats an eows 612
EOWS 612?
Beats me. Others know better than me.
WHELEN CONTROLLER MUCH?
I am pretty sure it is "sick"
I get the joke so don't woooosh me
Loud
ok why did it say tornado warning when it was a test was there a real tornado warning
Because the yo-yo who did the programming wasn't thinking. It's since been changed to say "This is a test of the Watertown emegency alert system"
+Andy Wallace This WAS for a warning all you people. Look at the sky!
it isn't always green
+Paul Spomer It wasn't a tornado.
