Reading & Northern: Diesels in Anthracite Country

While steam locomotives take a front-row seat in my videos, I do capture their internal combustion brethren in action, too! A lot of that footage tends to go unused, but during one trip, the diesels made a worthy subject.
During the doubleheaded "Iron Horse Ramble" on August 13th, 2022, the R&N had two special sets of diesels working on their line. First, we see the former Norfolk Southern A-B set of F-Units (270 and 275) pulling the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railroad excursion out of Jim Thorpe.
Then, we see the "Fast Freight" SD50-2's (5018 and 5019) moving the "Iron Horse Ramble" consist in Jim Thorpe. Later, the duo runs ahead of the steam special through Nesquehoning and Zehner's Curve. Finally, we see them take the special over from 2102 and 425 at Port Clinton for the return to Reading.

Great video about these pair of Reading & Northern F Units. I am going to be visiting the Black River & Western Railroad, New Hope & Ivyland Railroad, and the Strasburg Railroad (for their Day out with Thomas event) later this month.
