SEE?! I told y'all the new covers we're gonna be coming real soon ;) And this time, I decided to cover a heavily requested song. My goodness, I really loved singing this one. And what made it even better was the amazing composition of the song from a one, Miss Joyce Leong. If you haven't checked out her channel, go and do so now. You won't regret a second spent there.
Believe it or not, I'd actually never heard of the song until I saw someone had requested it in the comments of my "Out There" cover and it had 87 thumbs up's lol. So, I've been learning it in secret ever since :P Not really, but I like to pretend I'm important enough that keeping things "secret" is all cool and what not...
ANYWHO, this cover is actually different from all of my other covers in a pretty fundamental way. In most of my recent covers, I record my tracks first, and then I film over them later. Lip-syncing, but not exactly (I still sing on camera of course). However, for this one, I filmed at the exact same time of recording and kept a one continuous take; no video editing whatsoever. What you see is what you get~ I'm really pumped about how it turned out, and I hope y'all enjoy listening to is as much as I did learning the song, and recording it :)

Caleb Hyles is one of the most beautiful person I've ever seen. His voice has this way to keep me in and never out. I have this bad habit of going into deep depression, and I always put myself down and say awful things about myself, but when I come home and click on Caleb's videos, this rush of warmth spreads all over me, like someone is there to tell me everything is going to be okay. I know this might be going a bit overboard, but Caleb Hyles has saved my life numerous of times. I love to lay back and just listen to his covers over and over again, letting the world take me away. It's my duty in life to meet him in real life and thank him personally, because a thank you note on a youtube video is not enough.

What an amazing display of control, Caleb. This song is not the kind where you show off belting and vocal range, but rather the amount of control in breath, tone, and overall sound, and I think you nailed it. I had absolutely no doubts in my mind that you would pull off the extended "And I give aaaallllll~ of me" parts based on past covers of how great your lung capacity is, and you totally did. Better than John Legend himself if you ask me. The falsetto transition bits always bothered me in the original, but yours is exactly what I had hoped it would be more like (most likely just a personal preference; my utmost apologies to John Legend but yeah "Orz).

This isn't just a comment on this video alone, but all of your videos. I must say that I can't not compliment you on your amazing voice. I especially love your falsetto. The contrast of your pure falsetto and your amazing raspy powerful highs just go to show some amazing vocal control! You are with out a doubt my favorite RUclipsr and I feel blessed to listen to you. When words no longer work to convey emotion music speaks, and oh boy, music speaks through you. Keep kicking butt my man.
I suffer from a condition called rOCD (relationship Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). I won't go into details of the disorder in one RUclips comment, but one Google search will give you all you need to know. Let's just say, in sum, that even though I love my boyfriend so very much, a little demon in my head tells me that I don't. I question, ruminate, analyse. I suffer anxiety. It sucks.
Yet I love this man and his perfect imperfections and he's my world. Regardless of my difficulty, I absolutely adore this man.
John Legend's song "All of Me" always reminded me of me and him, my love for him despite my Little Friend and our relationship in general and how he makes me happy when my mind makes me sad.

I listen to this cover quite often. My grandmother told me to check out your videos. I think she knows your grandmother or your mother or something. Your pitch is great and I enjoy how you pick perfect times to add rasp to your voice. I also really like how perfectly in tune your high notes at the end of the chorus are and how you're singing straight tones for the most part there instead of vibrato. That takes a lot of talent, especially at that octave. Very well done.

Caleb Hyles o by the way, from the fact that you can sing the higher and middle notes powerfully, i suppose you know mixed voice, but the all of me/yous through out the song sounded more like falsetto to me. would you mind explain a little bit about how do you control between the two? how do they feel different to you technically? coz im always struggling on the two, unable to sing those middle notes powerfully.

Not really falsetto. Head voice though. You'll pretty much always struggle on mixed voice notes. All I can say for that is breathe from your diaphragm because you'll need the breath support for the middle range. He's not singing falsetto when he sings the high notes. He's just singing in head voice. A large percentage of guys never figure out how to sing in head voice. I like to imagine the inside of the mouth. When you're singing as low as you can, notice how you feel it in the bottom of your throat. Slowly start to rise the pitch up. You should feel a strange shift in your mouth as your rise pitch that feels as if something is moving toward the roof of your mouth. Head voice feels much different from chest voice as well as mixed voice. To add to that, falsetto is not the same as head voice. Falsetto is the airy version of head voice, pretty much. To get back to your questions though, lots of breath support for mixed voice. The high parts in there were head voice, not falsetto. Control-wise, head voice is much easier to sing than mixed voice. They feel different on the inside of your mouth. The reason mixed voice is hard to sing is because it's the very small range between your chest voice and head voice. If you try to sing your mixed voice pitches in chest voice, you'll have to strain which sometimes causes overshooting the note, kinda like teenage boys hitting puberty. If you try to sing it in head voice, it won't be very loud. Mixed voice, to me, is the hardest range to sing. If you want to record a cover of a song, I suggest changing the key of the song to a key that you're most comfortable with. Anyways, best of luck. -Ashton

This was the song for the Woman who I thought could have been the love of my life and end up another page in the story of my life. It went from being a song that brought me utter joy and happiness and made me think of all of the adorable moments and brought regret to every fight we had... to another memory, lost in the currents of time to one day be forgotten but not without dragging me through the pits of sadness left by the aftermath... Its funny how a song that inspired such happiness could turn into an object of torture.... so, I avoided it. turned it off whenever I heard it, refused John legend's music around me even though he had been one of my favorite artist, and finally started to truly forget...
