I totally agree! Ever since he sort of went in that direction with Flashlight, Further, Urban Foxes etc, I’ve been curious. I’d love to hear him do more heavy stuff!
It's pretty standard for Skybreak if you dig deep enough into his dubsteppy discography, but this song sounds unlike anything CloudNone has ever done before (especially those two drops), and I love it for that. Big props to the two for going outside their comfort zone for once! Also Skybreak is on a roll this year, a strong debut on Monstercat, FOUR big collabs (Teminite, Mazare, Virus Syndicate, and now CloudNone), what is he cooking
I'm quite late, and I had only heard snippets, not the whole song. I just listened to this myself and...what a dichotomy of sound! The gentle atmospheric production coming from CloudNone worked really well in contrast to Skybreak's style of dubstep. The drops are very intricate yet satisfying drops! I see why it made BO2023, and it was well worth the listen!
It’s funny you say CloudNone is 70% of the song since Skybreak said in a video he had the original idea and reached out to CloudNone. But they did scrap a lot of the original track because the song didn’t have enough of a soul of it’s own and just sounded like a normal collab of their two sounds. So they shared songs they were listening to and used that as inspiration for this collab. You could be right on the percentage though for this final version idk haha!
