- Welcome to the channel in today’s video we visit Randy Bohannon‘s auto junkyard and search of parts for our Ford Econoline van and Ford Mustang. Bohanons is one of the largest import junkyards in the south east, and usually has cars no older than 25 years old. We lucked out and found the piece that we need for the econo line van, but unfortunately all the frame rails for the Mustang had too much damage. we marked the cut and tipped Hector to get a quick turnaround so hopefully by the end of the week we will have the van finished. Our good friend Bob also brought over a RV tank water heater, which had expanded due to not being winterized and cracked. This usually happens if you do not drain the water from your RV during the winter and it freezes inside and cracks the actual tank itself.
I cleaned it up and wire wheeled all the cracked areas and put down some nice beads of weld and now he needs to just test it and make sure it’s not leaking before he goes out this weekend. #rebuilding #welding #aluminum #junkyard #parts #howto

Great video! Nice welds on the aluminum tank. Just a side note - water heaters are ASME pressure vessels. There are pressure vessel codes for the design, manufacturing and testing for those tanks. I would gladly use that tank with your welds.

An Aussie welders drills a small hole at the end of the crack, stops it following a predetermined path.
Yes you are correct and many have said the same to me about welding aluminium rims, I have welded hundreds of rims, never drilled a single hole and never had a problem. Knock on wood 🤣

Nice video, walking around the scrapyard is something i like to do when i was a kid and later with my son, he brought always many light bulbs in his pockets for our car ! These days scrapyards are change a lot, you cant go on the yard itself and everything is in stock and mark with a label so they find it fast and easy, but the charm is gone . To bad for that MAGA crap, sorry to say, but that is personal. The Hairdresser did a fine job Yuri !

so at 1440 of the video can anyone with more braincells than i left myself let me know how the side of this van is possible now we all watched him cut the drivers side off of this van the other day so how do we see this with our eyes this picture is telling me that im lookin at the passenger side but its missin the slider door and everyone knows that vans have sliders on passenger side but once again he cut the drivers side off and his dad drove the van on the frame rack in reverse and now im lookin at more video and i noticed that the frame rack is on the wrong side of the shop and the garage doors are facing the wrong way its almost like the video is recording inside out
