Just watching Dennis work and to be able to have the clear vision of what he wants to see, and then make it so, is just mind blowing to me. Such a gift to have him allow to be filmed, and let us look over the shoulder of a master at work.
Ed still being around is so awesome. So great that he got to see this car before he passes. People dont even realize he pretty much birthed what we see of stripped down hot rods and the T bucket style 20 years before anyone else
Dennis I'm really impressed in your work with stainless steel! Using a Tig makes it way better than the way my dad thought me to fix stainless on his 40 Ford with a torch to weld and fill broken trim!! I'm gonna try one on my new car!
I'm 72 and turned wrenches for about 60 if those years. But I always jumped first towards new tech, the Bleeding Edge. I can clearly see that 3 simple 3d printed spacer bar could clip onto the radiator shell so you could have simply snapped all bars in place and later weld on the bench. ❤ Almost forgot to heap High Praises on your Old School skills. Beautiful work.
Great idea. Only potential issue is that I find when I do this kind of thing is that when you try to do too much at once things generally go pear shaped. I think he was leaving the shell bolted to the car because he was worried about it pulling out of shape, so adding one bar at a time, while painful, was the easiest way to prevent it getting out of shape. When he had enough bars in he might have been able to use a more generic holder.
Your Dad is an old world craftsman in a new world……. Very interesting…… and I like your Dad takes pride in his works……something that lacks in a lot of so called craftsmanship of today……👍👍👍🫡🫡🫡
I keep checking your site for new videos on this project, finally it ha arrived! i'm just starting to watch now, and I'm so sure its gonna be a great one, as all are! you guys sure know how to keep a feller in suspense!
Thank you soooo much, I have been chomping at the bit waiting for this series since I talked to Meg when you guys were in Byron. Can't get enough of watching Dennis work his magic.
Your Dad truly is an artist of Hot Rod building. He has the unique talent of being able to communicate with a novice like me so I can understand his process and learn .
THIS IS THE GENIOUS PART OF RWAT....THIS MAN IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THIS CHANNEL...KEEP IT UP DENNIS....WAS NATIVE TO SAN GABRIEL VALLEY TILL 2021 NOW A RESIDENT OF HARVEY COUNTY KANSAS...ALL THE GOOD BUILDERS I HAVE EVER MET ARE FROM CALIFORNIA.....
Dennis...... your amazing. To watch your hands build a grill inspires me to build a grill myself. Probably build it 3 times being picky, but will try. Thank you.
I love listening to people like your dad work. Most folks would think that they are daft, not knowing up from down. Those folks would be missing the best part of the experience. Because your dad thinks out loud folks could assume that he doesn't know what he's doing. If they would listen closely though, then they could hear they countless hours of experience rolling around in their mind as they build and rebuild the car in their mind a hundred different ways always pursuing the look, the balance, the performance that they know is tucked away in the cold hard metal. We are only hearing a few words get out, while in their minds there are ten thousand ways to get there rattling around in their minds. Gene Winfield. Ian Rousel. Chip. Your dad. These are Titans in the automotive world who individually are wonders. Imagine standing next to them, learning as they share their knowledge, understanding and talents with us who are best served to be mere sponges soaking up an art form that is getting more rare with each day. I have had the pleasure of spending time with giants in other fields such as gardening, painting, construction, fishing and hunting to name a few. One thing is true with each and every one of them. Their speech patterns, the speed of movement, and that far away look about them only hints at the amount of experience on the scale of the Library of Alexandria. I have named men, but that in no way means that I have any less respect for women whom I also could have named. They too are treasures. Slow in speech, and measured in action your father is a marvel to me. Traits that I cherish. They have no need to prove who they are. They simply are.
As always Dennis, measure 2x, cut once! I don't know about you, but as a retired mechanic, my favorite thing was fabrication. When I worked for the factory of Mack Truck and the construction company, I had many times, to do what you are doing, make it look as close to original as possible! Great stuff!
very good build video dennis- thanks for sharing how to make parts come together and fit so it works for that project. love the camera work. the car is a true work of art!-charlie from arkansas.
Why?? Because you love doing it, you have this vision & you keep going with it.. Dennis you are a artist you have to be it shows in the work you do…. You know how things work & there is no short cuts in quality, function & most of all SAFETY….
Rebuilds an engine with his daughter in a parking lot at the strip, metal fabricates custom automotive grills/art, anything this guy doesn't do? Probably does paint and body really well too. Mad skills.
Just Sayin , us other fabricators liked it withouth music all comments becouse it is imperessive fabrication and we all have the wooden blocks and cut materials ro use as spacers, your Dad rocks!
So In my shop I keep some of those cheap screw Scissor style jacks that come in the trunk of most 80's/90's cars there great for mock up better than blocks of wood there 10$ at pick a part
GRRRRRR Dennis, why could you not have shown this ten years ago.....LOL. We had to do the same thing when building my dad's bucket. Just kidding man great work, but it would have been helpful.
Just watching Dennis work and to be able to have the clear vision of what he wants to see, and then make it so, is just mind blowing to me. Such a gift to have him allow to be filmed, and let us look over the shoulder of a master at work.
Wow! Could watch Dennis forever. He never ceases to amaze!
Dennis is an absolute metal artist
I could watch, and learn, so much watching Dennis perform his magic all day...! Master craftsman..!
Dennis needs his own channel!
So many of us talk to ourselves in our shops, we are listening and learning every step of the way Dennis. You are a master!
Dennis you are a true craftsman , you make it look so easy but we all know it isn’t. It looks fantastic 👍🏻
I can watch Dennis all day long doing his magic.Great educator.
Alex, interesting video--and you need to use sunscreen to "stay pretty". 😉
I bet Dennis was a sight to see when he was a child playing with an Erector Set or a pile of Legos. Watching him work is a gift to see. 😮🤯
Wow, beautiful piece of work! The whole rod is going to look the business, for sure. Masterful.
Dennis has a real talent for fab work. Impressive sir. Very impressive.
Ed still being around is so awesome. So great that he got to see this car before he passes. People dont even realize he pretty much birthed what we see of stripped down hot rods and the T bucket style 20 years before anyone else
This is such a great build, and DT did a really good job taking us through his process.

Master craftsman, you are Dennis. Congrats on your own channel.
I love hearing the process and train of thought that goes into his builds!

Dennis Taylor is a wizard with metal. All his work is incredible!!!
The craftsmanship and ingenuity of your dad is incredible, amazing and inspiring!! That was the best hour watching the RUclipss in a long time.

The tenacity of a Mad Scientist
Your Dad truly is an artist of Hot Rod building. He has the unique talent of being able to communicate with a novice like me so I can understand his process and learn .

DENNIS NEEDS A RUclips PAGE I WOULD LOVE TO WATCH THIS GUY WORK ON HIS CARS
Takes a special person to build something like this. (Driven by perfection). Outstanding , (by miles), work.
As always Dennis, measure 2x, cut once! I don't know about you, but as a retired mechanic, my favorite thing was fabrication. When I worked for the factory of Mack Truck and the construction company, I had many times, to do what you are doing, make it look as close to original as possible! Great stuff!
Well done is an understatement. People have no clue how many hours it takes for one man to build something. Four years into mine so far.
Dennis does AMAZING work! His skill level is far above 99.9 % of the other builders.
I love those clips I used them to shorten 72 f100 long bed and make mini wheel tubs in the bed.
I really appreciate you people that actually pay attention to detail, cause I don't, as long as it works that's me
Yeah I'm the same way, i think they call people like us " half assers"
Damn Dennis you make it look so easy thanks for all the info im learning from this video
very good build video dennis- thanks for sharing how to make parts come together and fit so it works for that project. love the camera work. the car is a true work of art!-charlie from arkansas.
It surely is a neat trick . Thanks for showing this.
Wing Ding fingers are called STUMPS here in australia
I like the 1/2" much better than the 1/4", good choice and beautiful work!
Glad to see this video! I’ve been looking forward to hearing it run.
The extra brain power head scratch boosts appear to have worked out perfectly!!!
Why?? Because you love doing it, you have this vision & you keep going with it.. Dennis you are a artist you have to be it shows in the work you do….

Dad Dennis is a amazing just like you princess love you all have a wonderful day later ❤💖
& what's your comfy ride Alex??
Sweet interior😊
It's Nicks white Camaro, she told elsewhere why she now use that as her daily when working in LA, instead of the Bug.
GRRRRRR Dennis, why could you not have shown this ten years ago.....LOL. We had to do the same thing when building my dad's bucket. Just kidding man great work, but it would have been helpful.
❤
Can we please get more of whatever this is?
Raise body mounts if need be
When you're filming your dad, you should listen to music. That is not copyrighted. So he gets to listen to something. And you won't get a strike
I’m just picturing someone, on the maiden voyage, dropping the hammer and plowing straight into a tree and ruining Dennis’s hard, tedious labor.
Do you and lucky still do hotrod garage and if you do how do I watch them or I really enjoy watching you and lucky's stuff on RUclips
Discovery plus that where I watch it at
The new season starts in September on Motortrend, don’t have an exact date yet.
💙
Quite the Craftsman Dennis…….
