  • Day 14 of the Pennine Way adventure was a spectacular walk from Bellingham to Byrness. I crossed boggy moorland and walked through pine plantations, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day.

    Dean you are an inspiration fella, so on Monday I’m going up Snowdonia and doing the horseshoe something I’ve been threatening to do for a long time! But with watching your daily videos I’m getting of my backside and getting it done. Thanks Dean 👍🏼

    What a wonderful part of the country,especially in this weather.I think (know) you made a great decision to not camp,mainly because of all the extra weight you'd have had to carry....factor in abysmal weather (luckily yours wasn't) and it could've been a nightmare.

    Your dead sheep experience reminded me of ours. We were walking along the Scottish Border fence on the Cheviot and there was a dead sheep in the bog , turning green , blocking our path. Memento Mori. A PW right of passage maybe?

    • @DeanRead
      @DeanRead  7 месяцев назад

      I had another dead sheep experience last June up in the Cheviots, we were running low on water and there was a dead sheep right in the river. Needless to say, we pressed on to Kirk Yehtolm and went without

    Glad they have added a proper path to the bog section in the area of deforestation at kielder. A few years back it was just endless bog. One more day to go. Keep going

    Dean - just wanted to thank you for these videos. Really poking forward to the next section - I’ve walked ad wild camped this bit - on the Scottish border after Chew Green roman marching fort over the last 3yrs in summer and winter - the views into Scotland always impress. Currently recovering for ankle fusion - hoping to get out hiking again soon - but my physio tells me I’m too impatient!!! Keep up the great work - your videos are true and honest - Hobnobs forever!!!!

    You're such an inspiration! I'm taking the Hadrian's wall hike this autumn, a solo hike,, and worried I'm too old and out of shape for it at 67 but I figure it's now or never. Training for it so I won't make a total fool of myself.

    Another great video and what scenery. Even the bogs are beautiful with the different flora. As usual, you have put together an interesting video whilst keeping it light. If you have not looked at Deep Digger Dan’s channel when he raised funds for the rays of sunshine, you may want to view one or two of them. Good luck and God Speed on your last day. I know your mates at work and Lisa will be looking to have you home again.
